I think it's okay every once in awhile if you're having a really busy day (or not feeling well) to eat fewer calories, but I have to agree that it's important to eat at LEAST 1200 calories per day from healthy foods.

Have you tried the Vegetarian Times website? Also, one of my all-time favorite cookbooks is the Moosewood Cookbook. I've been vegetarian for 26 years, and I like the challenge of using "regular" recipes and making them vegan or vegetarian.

I've been vegetarian for 30 years and married to a non-vegetarian for 23. I find that if I don't make a BIG DEAL out of cooking a "vegetarian" meal, no one notices the lack of an animal on the plate. My husband, our families, and my friends love my cooking because they know I will always come up with something unique to…

I don't know what HCG is, either.

Sounds to me like you have a healthy goal weight in mind. If your doctor is on board with your plan, then go for it.

Cool. Thanks!

Yep, don't go to that site. If you end up there, hit <alt> <F4> to immediately log off.

I'm vegan, too, but far from a teenager! I have a teenage daughter, and she is vegetarian. Vegans usually do need vitamin B supplements, so make sure you take a good multivitamin.

Try Spiru-Tein by Nature's Plus. I like the cappuccino. Or Amazing Grass Amazing Meal.

Talk with your doctor about the most appropriate exercise for you. We all get "red" during a good workout. Try moderate exercise like walking at a brisk pace.

After my daughter was born (17+ years ago) my dermatologist prescribed Retin-A. The redness faded, but I'm still striped. I agree with the other comments to view them as a badge of courage!

I make a vegetarian chilli using either Morningstar Farms' recipe crumbles or a handful of texturized vegetable protein.

Make exercise a family event. Before or after homework, walk to the park and play! Take a ball or a kite, work on upper body on the monkey bars while they're on the swings, play a spirited game of tag. Your kids will love it, and so will you.

Try eliminating all soda--even diet--and coffee. No artificial sweeteners. If you must sweeten, use stevia. Work up to 45 minutes of cardio daily.

Absolutely agree! Zico is the best. Chocolate and plain...the other flavors do not appeal to me. They're expensive at a regular grocery store such as Kroger, Target, etc., but frequently on sale at Sprouts.

No.

Yeah, I agree. I'm vegan. It's possible to eat a healthy salad away from home. Skip the dressing and use lemon juice or vinegar.
