I'm vegetarian for 29 years and vegan for 10. Happier and healthier than ever!

I stopped eating processed sugars, any kind of corn syrup, and any kind of chemical sweetener 3 years ago. I feel wonderful and food tastes fabulous. Cravings will pretty much stop after a couple of weeks. If you need something sweet in your tea or coffee, try liquid stevia, monkfruit, or agave. As mentioned by others, the…

You earn extra calories by exercising. So if you burn 900 calories, you can eat a total of 2100 calories to give you "net" calories of 1200.

I get bored and tired on a treadmill but can go forever outside. Try getting outside in the fresh air. And invest in good running shoes...they make a world of difference.

Ever heard of something called a runner's high? Unless you're losing weight too fast or pushing yourself too hard toward injury, enjoy it! Just make sure you schedule recovery time every week.

I haven't used any sugar, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup or artificial sweeteners in two years. I've never felt better. I will use honey, molasses, agave nectar, and stevia sparingly. If you buy good tea, it tastes great unsweetened either hot or cold!

I don't touch sugar or artificial sweeteners. And let me tell you, I immediately dropped weight and my mood levels stabilized. Stevia, honey, molasses, agave, and pure maple syrup are better for you.

Fruit. I haven't eaten any sugar, corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, etc. for over a year.

I don't eat my friends.

Agree totally! I've spent bucks on the Brooks Glycerins, but the Asics Gels just seem to work better for me. And, invest in some good supportive running socks like Thorlos.

Why's that?

Vegetarian for 26 years. I'd be vegan, except I do enjoy honey and eggs from my pet hens.

How do you know that the person who wants to lose 5 pounds doesn't have a larger goal but considers it more attainable to set smaller goals of 5 pounds at a time?
-
I commend you for calling this your journey toward a healthy lifestyle. You look fit and fabulous!
-
Yep, absolutely get new shoes. And I suggest going to a running store for a fit. Price doesn't matter--get the shoes that fit you best and feel comfortable, so try on several pairs. Good socks are a must. I like Thorlos.

Can I change my mind and forget that I clicked on this topic?

Zero.

John Irving's "In One Person." He's my favorite author and never fails to impress.

Don't waste your money on 50 Shades of Grey unless you're a Twilight fan...it was written by someone with the literary skills of a sixth grader.

Kudos for trying a new class! However, it's important to do so at your own pace. Depending on the length of the class, you might need electrolytes or other nutrition to recover.

I've not tried it, but I asked my doctor about it. She said that it's a safe drug but to stay home when first taking it because it definitely has explosive side effects, as mentioned above.

Agreed. I like all of the flavors.

It depends on the time of year. I usually like to run just before dark, but in the summer here in Texas I get up before sunset when it's cooler.

I agree with everyone who said to order what you want. You and your husband can work off those calories later. :blushing:
