I would say not to worry about it so much for this meal. Maybe get a salad (regular size) and ask for the dressing on the side or with no cheese. Don't stress so much about the meal and just try to make the healthiest choice you can. If you go over by 100-200 calories, it seems like a lot BUT you can compensate by having…

Essentially, weight watchers uses a point system to be similar to calories. Foods that are more filling and healthier/lower in calories TEND to be lower in points. Instead of having a specific amount of calories, you are consuming a specific number of points. That is how this site helps. It will generate the recommended…

Don't have any but love them. I've decided to wait until I slim down and treat myself to one :-)

I do the exact same thing. I actually find that half the time I think I'm craving food, I'm actually thirsty because I'll drink water and be fine. Keeping out of the house or keeping off my butt also does the trick fabulously but I know I can't do that all the time :P

I know exactly what you mean!! Would it be out of the question to have your family join you? Not in every way but see if they want to join you exercising or eat more whole veggies with you? A healthy lifestyle change can only benefit them, even if they aren't trying to lose weight :-)

You have already done so much good!!! Imagine how much more you can do if you stick with it ;-) What seems to be standing in your way? And just imagine how good it will feel if you just barrel on through it and achieve your goal? I would say that is worth more than anything in the world :-)

That is absolutely amazing!!! Congratulations :-) It's so refreshing to know that someone's hard work has paid off

However, I will throw in the argument that lifestyle has a lot to do with it. The popularity of videogames and computers and tv? Plays a HUGE role. I lived abroad in Europe for a while and LOST weight because every day I was walking to the stores and staying off my butt. I wouldn't say that I ate healthfully (just made…

I think the largest problem is that people don't quite make the eating habits a lifestyle change. I had a nutritionist who focused on me eating wholesome foods and foods that are not "starchy" (such as potatoes, corn and grapes) and only lean proteins. I kept that weight off for a very long time until I started eating…

You also have to keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat and therefore, a better gauge of your progress is how your clothing fits (unless you are bloated as well...). Also, don't lose hope. There are plenty of reasons why your weight might fluctuate such as "that time of the month" or water retention or just the time…

I personally weight myself WAY too much. Probably around three times a day (once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once at night). It sounds weird but it's like my way of trying to see how my body changes throughout the day... And it's totally hypocritical, I know it's best to weigh yourself once or twice a week,…

Welcome!!! Weight watchers works mostly because it shows you how to eat in moderation :-) However, this site is fantastic because you can keep track of how much you eat and how much you exercise quickly and efficiently. It makes it easier to pinpoint what you're doing wrong :-P My favorite thing that I'm also learning?…

Congratulations!!! That is absolutely wonderful and inspiring to read. And it was written well. Best of wishes to you and thank you for sharing your story to all of us :-)

I'm the exact same way. Although it doesn't help that when I tried to eat more, I gained weight. I guess if it works and if it stays off though, I'm not about to stop eating less than recommended.

The hardest part for me is that I don't realize how few calories I'm eating until later in the evening. My medication makes me lose my hunger early in the day. And I know it is a bad idea to make up all the calories later in the day and sleep on that. Any suggestions?

I totally understand what you mean. Awfully enough, for a lot of people (myself included) the weight around the stomach area is the last to go. Don't completely focus on how your waist is changing. As long as you keep doing cardio and core/ab strength exercises, you'll see the results eventually. To motivate yourself, I…
