  • HI! TRY AND SAVE SOME CALORIES FOR THE EVENING SNACKS AND TRY TO STICK TO FRUIT AND HEALTHY STUFF. IT'S NOT MUCH I KNO AND IT TAKES SOME WORK. I LIKE TO SNACK ON POPCORN. IT GIVES ME A CHIP-EATING SATISFACTION FOR ONLY ABOUT 190 CALORIES PER BAG!!!!
  • That's cool, eh? And, it only took a little knowledge. Too easy!
  • On track with updated work out schedule. Plus the benefits of snow shoveling. Yay.
  • That's been a concern of mine. I intend to quit once I reach my goal weight. Hopefully it will be easier to manage my weight and the effects of quitting.
  • 3 pounds... I hate you!

  • I don't think gimmicks are the way to go and that is what I think all these things like Herbalife are. It's all (or should be) just common sense. There are whole industries built on what should be common sense. The food guide has not really changed since it's conception. Unless you have some burning desire to part with…
  • You came to the right place. Welcome!

  • Just go for it and enjoy yourself. One battle does not win a war, and one night with a relaxed diet isn't going to stop you from meeting your goal. ...Just so long as it isn't every second night. Personally, I try to keep it moderate, but I don't often get to eat sweets or stuff anymore. So, I go ahead and eat them…
  • Sometimes I hate them all. Hard to pick a fave. Treadmill is still novel because I just started using it, but it's more boring to me than weights, where I'm switching muscle groups every few minutes. I guess my fave would be what I call Torso Day when I work my abs. I keep visualizing myself with a magnificant six pack!…
  • I actually reduced my breakfast portion. It left me more calories for later on. (1/2 cup skim milk, 50g All Bran, which is half of what I want to have. )
  • Congrats! That's funny, dreaming of eating moldy cheesecake. I haven't gotten that bad yet.
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • It sounds like I may be getting my shot at a power outage in the next day or so. Probably the same storm if we are all on the East coast. (I'm not sure where Broken Arrow is. :embarassed: )
  • Welcome! It can be done.

  • Sucks having no power for days. Congrats!
  • Welcome! You can easily lose 35 pounds in 8 months. If you set up your goals for a 2 pound per week loss, then you'll be done in about half that time. Even at one pound per week, you should still pretty much meet your deadline. Good luck!
  • I started this week on my new schedule that fits in 2 nights of cardio between strength training per 7 days (3 str, 1 cardio, 3 str,...). Already blew it yesterday by not doing _anything_, but I did have to shovel for an hour or so, and according to Calorie King, that burned more than the treadmill OR the strenght training…
  • I keep hitting these points. Seems like I stop losing, then when I look at a 30 day progress report, I find I've lost 9 pounds in the last month. Sometimes it just seems like I've hit a plateau when I haven't. Maybe that's not the case for you, though. I would say, just don't give up. Recalculate your caloric requirements.…
  • Jake, you can just move over here with me in the 'insensitive male' corner.
  • Food for thought... I could eat 1.2 pounds of brownies per day and gain 2 or 3 pounds per week. I can eat 2.8 pounds of healthy food per day and lose 2 pounds per week. Interesting. I think I'd be sick eating that many brownies anyway.
  • Hello and welcome!
  • 22 down with maybe 18 to go. Will be checking out a clinic my doc recommended when I get close to 180 to see what my actual ideal weight should be around. I like to think I've gained a little muscle weight with the exercising too, so net fat loss might be better than the scale output :)
  • Yeah, the whole starvation mode thing can get some interesting viewpoints. I occasionally have a significant amount of calories left over. For those having trouble or concerns with that, you might try peanuts. 50 g is about 300 cals and is only about a handful. Good for protien, and calcium, too adn the sodium level is not…
  • Some great tips. When I started on this site I switched around the different nutrients that I could track on the food page for a while. I leave one now at Sodium because it is by far the most abused nutrient I consume! It's the hardest to control (for me, anyway) and I've had to drop a lot of conveniences from my diet to…
  • Yeah, I was just thinking the program is doing wonders for cm.
  • Good philosophy! Welcome to the site, linzie!
  • Welcome and good luck!

  • The "Work for Reward" program sounds like a good idea. I have never been a sweets person, but these days I crave chocolate chip cookies, pie... When at someone's place for dinner, I've even eaten cheesecake, which I don't even like! I guess that's what deprivation is doing to me. :ohwell: I'm a little concerned about the…
  • Welcome to the site! It's easy with some honesty, good tools and a good community!
  • Ooo and I get first post! Actually, I think it's a good question. I would guess the sodium makes you retain more of the water.
