Those are cute little guys, Michelle. :o) That's a really fun picture! One thing I am passionate about is walking my dogs. My dogs are all rescues (two of which I rescued myself). As a result, they have issues (Jack and Bear have dog aggression, and Jack also has people aggression, and Tucker is scared of everything) and…

One of my dogs, Jasmine, has arthritis as well...and has had knee surgery to replace a torn CCL (equivalent to a human ACL). The vet suggested Dasaquin which is a glucosamine and chondrotin supplement for dogs. I can't tell you how great that's been for her...and Jack has started taking it as well as he gets stiff nowadays…

Someone in this thread (but I couldn't find it again) said that bananas are bad for constipation. Is that true?

I'm Tiffany. I have 4 dogs (shown in the pic on my ticker below). Bear is 10 years old, Jack and Jasmine are both 9 and Tucker is 3. I have my hands full since I walk all 4 at once but I try to get out every day with them. We usually go out for 30-45 minutes in the summer when it's hot...and it's a slow walk, but now that…

I've been on a few loaded tours and use a Trek 520. I've had it since 2000 and it's a solid bike. I ride that one more than my other bikes. I think you will run into a problem when trying to get a lightweight bike to perform well with a load. I have talked to others while out touring and some people have taken road bikes…

I've got a 1995 Trek OCLV carbon bike, a 2000 Trek 520 touring bike (my favorite) and an old, beat up mountain bike I take when my dogs want to go running.

I'll give this a try. It's going to be tough since my husband thinks it's not a meal without meat.

www.sproutedkitchen.com has some amazing, natural foods recipes.

ahavoc, your symptoms sounds similar to mine! I'm not sure which is worse, the hives, the bloating or the digestive issues but none are pleasant. I've always known I was allergic to cranberries, but that was all I thought I had to avoid. As an 18 year old, I really started having issues off and on. I would go to the Dr.…

I am no longer experiencing sugar cravings either...but I am always really hungry! This is harder than the sugar cravings, in my opinion.

Since I only started 3 days ago, adding up my numbres was pretty easy. Including yesterday, my numbers are Newts = 43 Owls = 3 HP = 115 And my starting weight is 150.2

I hope everyone is doing well so far. It can be tough to resist but you're strong...you can do it.

Here's a soup recipe since it's that time of year. I LOVE this thin split pea soup...very different from traditional pea soup. 1 cup split peas 3 cups water 2 bay leaves ¼ teaspoon paprika 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, sliced 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced 1 quart chicken stock 1 cup kale, chopped…

11/8 Newts = 14 (3 fruit - 11 water) However it would be 4 if you count apple butter as fruit which I think is a stretch Owls = 0 HP = 0 Exercise didn't work out yesterday. We have a cold front coming in which always gets me out as my dogs love running in the cold.

I'm not a big fan of cooked tomatoes...but that mustard sounds like a great idea! I'll give that a shot.

I make my own and it has very little salt. I have to warn you though, it doesn't taste the same as store bought. It's not bad...it's just not the same. The way I make mine is by cutting up a head of lettuce, adding in about 1 Tbsp sea salt (not iodized) and 4 Tbsp whey (instructions on my blog here:…

Sounds delicious!

I agree on more veggies. Also, most days, you have almost no protien in your breakfast...that makes me eat more snacks. Maybe try adding more protien in your breakfast.

Another thing I love as a snack is to take drained yogurt (dump it in cheesecloth in a strainer and let it drain for a few hours. The solids left is yogurt cheese. I LOVE carrots dipped in that. You can use it like cream cheese but it has the probitotics still in it.

I have a stash of different frozen veggies in the freezer at work and if I need a snack, I'll heat up a serving in the microwave. Usually does the trick. Also, I love apples so I have 2-3/day. Yogurt's another good one.

My very favorite cook book is "Nourishing Tradtions" by Sally Fallon. It has completely changed the way I think about food. It's a cook book but it ialso has a ton of information on different kinds of foods and how to prepare them to get the most nutrients out of them. Amazing book!

11/7 Owls - 2 Newts - 13 (2 fruit + 11 water) HP - 70

It will get easier...just hang in there! Maybe you could try putting all the things you can't have in one cabinet that you won't open until sometimes after the 21 days is up? If you're like me, and they have to be out so everyone else can have them, keep a couple of allowable snacks around just in case. For me, apples is…

I started this challenge on the 2nd. The first couple of days were rough and I snitched some sesame chicken that had a sugary sauce on them. So really, I am on day 5 since sugars (except for fruit) are on my list. Last night, I was at my in-laws and they were all eating cake and ice cream. I was ready to steal the pan and…

This is my first weighin. 150.2 so I will start checking in with all the other stuff now that I've weighed in. Too bad the challenge got moved from veggies to fruit. I eat a lot of veggies.

I am so with you! My husband has zero desire to eat healthy. Our food tastes couldn't be much different. So either he likes a meal or I do but rarely both of us. He loves to eat out and I don't. He brings home dessert all the time even though I have given up sugar. He does put it in a drawer so it's out of my sight but I…

I had sesame chicken last night that was in the fridge from my DH's chinese order in. :o( Coated in sugary sauce. I was just so hungry. I need to have more willpower.

I heard you guys need some more bodies. I am not sure I understand though...can someone expain it?

Yesterday was my first day. It went well. I exercised a ton (did a mini triathalon by myself) which kept me busy and unable to eat for a few hours. My problem comes when I've got nothing to do...that's when I really start craving sugary goodness.
