I don't have a dog, but just today I decided to volunteer at the local shelter to exercise the dogs! Got all the info and will attend volunteer orientation Saturday morning. Unfortunately I rent and am not allowed to have a dog.

I also shelled out a lot of money for a Bowflex BMI scale that was totally off weight wise. I could weigh myself in the morning and get one number, but thirty minutes later weigh an entire 5 pounds more. I now went to CVS, bought a cheap scale($9.99 regular price) and get consistent results.

I'm still on week 1. Is anyone else feeling a pain in their shins when running? It's different from a burn.

I started the C25K challenge as well and noticed that I developed a bigger appetite. I curb it with raw veggies, or popcorn. Also, water, water and more water!

Find a park with a track to run at. I find that the people there are usually older and out of shape (just like I am). Wear comfortable clothes and a good sports bra. You might want to consider the Couch to 5K challenge (C25K).

My 20 year old daughter is pregnant and I went to buy some maternity clothes for her. The helpful saleswoman held up this cute shirt and remarked how great it would look on me!!! I advised her that I'm fat, not pregnant, lol!

thanks for all the info. I've searched the topic and so far I haven't found anything negative. On the contrary, it seems to be beneficial from a medical standpoint as well. Will try it out and report back in a few weeks.
