Day 4 done!
-
I haven't done it yet...need to wait for baby to take a nap - but I WILL!!! I actually already logged it - I've been finding this gives me the extra push to do it. How could I lie to my MFP friends?? I find that little bits of rest work their way in subconsciously - i.e. when transitioning from the floor to standing, it…

Fantastic news!!! On MFP, bragging is not only tolerated, but encouraged!!!! WOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Day 3 DONE!!! However, the abs felt a little strange...I'm worried that they are separating (can happen because of pregnancy...) EWWW!!! I will ask my doctor to check to make sure... On a slightly different note...I had a weigh in today for another challenge I am in, and I am happy to report that I have now reached my…

During pregnancy, a hormone called relaxin helps to loosen ligaments and allow your hips and rib cage to expand and accommodate the growing baby...Unfortunately, it can affect other areas too (some people find their shoe size goes up!) and it doesn't always go back to the way it was. The reality is (as many of us are…

Wow!!! How old is he? My 9 month old would NOT put up with that :) He has to be sleeping, or else its a no go... I started 30DS a while back but then faded...I can say that the push-ups DO get easier! Even after only a week I could start to see a difference. The skipping rope is tough for me as well - I find if I "volley"…

bayertablets - Great approach! I do this as well - substitute a different move for ones that hurt / I can't do...until I can! As for weights - I use 2 sets of weights, depending on the exercise. For most, I use 2 lbs, but the bicep curls and chest fly were too easy with these, so I sub in 5 lb weights for these.

I have hardwood too, and I found that just a yoga mat wasn't enough. I've started doing the workout on those multi-coloured puzzle pieces that people put in kid areas? You can get them at Walmart, and they are nice and cushy and really reduce the impact on your joints during things like jumping jacks (my knees were giving…

I use it as a replacement for rice. It is a whole grain, and it has COMPLETE protein (i.e. all 8 essential amino acids, unlike many other grains). Great in soups, stews, as an accompaniment to dishes that are usually served on rice (i.e. indian food). YUM!

It is a little after 10 pm. Baby is in bed (for now...) Jambalaya is cooking away in the slow cooker. Kitchen is cleaned, dishwasher loaded, baby toys put away. And after all that, I finally did 30DS Day 1, Level 1...Thanks to this group. Last week, I would have just told myself that I was "too tired" and gone to bed...…

I won't get to it until tonight (when the baby goes to sleep). However, I have done the workout before, and it certainly works up a sweat! For me, the toughest parts of level 1 are the jumping jacks and lunges (these two moves hurt my left knee - so if I feel pain, I just modify to one of the other moves). I also find the…

Hah!!!!! Love this! I will be sure to report back...

Well...I didn't get up as early as intended (can't believe I actually snoozed for an HOUR...) And when I finally did get up, so did the baby. However, I have made this commitment, in front of you all, and I am going to stick to it! Guess it will be an evening 30DS for me.

What one did you get? I'm looking to get one too :)

You are totally in line with this week's poll!!!! Check out the thread for some answers to your question. I know for me, it is usually when he is asleep....

Welcome!!! Just in case you weren't aware - you can log breastfeeding into your food diary. I still felt my calorie allotment was too low, so I upped the base amount to 1400 (plus I get an extra 300 for nursing my 9 month old). I have been on here since September, I've lost 17 lbs and no impact on my milk supply. However -…

Before I went on mat leave, I had a huge list of creative endeavours I thought I would be able to tackle while on mat leave...three mid-sized acrylic paintings to hang in my living room...finish my wedding scrapbook...create a photo story of a recent trip to Portugal...illustrate the children's story my dad wrote...and it…

I am returning to work in February, and too I am unsure if my "squishier" body will fit into my work clothes!! I am two pounds away from pre-preg - but the shape / texture is different...I am hoping I can keep losing so that I'll be justified in buying all new clothes when I go back :) As for bfeeding - I am nursing an…

I LOVE my slow cooker...It works great to make soups, stews, roasts, chili...whatever! Great for when you get home late and just want a hot meal fast. Follow the link below to a thread someone started for slow cooker recipes - hope this helps!…

I took photos as well, and was a little shocked (particularly with how I look from behind...). All I can say is that, if you keep at it, your next photos will show an improvement! It is worth doing it so that you can see how far you will go!

ladybuglvr - I can really relate to a lot of what you wrote!!! - I too am a "fiery" starter - I get all excited about "changing my life", buy the "insert doodad here", and try to reinvent myself...and after a couple of weeks, I'm right back to the same old pattern... - depression is something that I have struggled with as…

Hah!!! Yes, hard to have "fun" in such a situation...sleep is often more appealing, eh? I was thinking of taking the mini pill myself, but my doctor suggested that an IUD might be a better choice. I guess they have really come a long way, and you don't have to worry about any hormonal effects. I have an appointment with…

Making lifestyle changes are tough!!! My nemesis is chocolate...so I have just worked it in to each and every day. I save it for the end, and only if I have room :) 1200 calories is tough - you can up it by: - exercising (and then eating / drinking back those calories...perhaps you will be more likely to go for a brisk…

Amazing work!!! You must be SOOO proud of yourself looking at these pictures! Beautiful!

Before joining MFP, I lost a bit of the baby weight but then stalled out...I was frustrated, because some people told me that bfeeding "melted the weight off"...this was not my experience. Since starting MFP two months ago, however, I have lost 16 lbs :) I make sure to include breastfeeding into my food diary (it subtracts…

Great thread! My little guy doesn't talk yet...but he bites anything he can get his hands on...my finger, arm, nipple...another kid's head...another baby's sock...his dad's glasses...ANYTHING!!

SmangeDiggs and stritte14 - I can't thank you enough for your responses!!! While reading your posts, you made me: - feel lucky to be able to spend the first 11 months at home with my son - realize how lucky I am to be there for so many firsts (things my husband missed out on...) - realize how lucky I am to have a partner…

Interesting!

LysieMae - I hear you!!! Breastfeeding has been quite the challenge for me as well (latching issues, scabbing, pain, inverted nipples, dermatitis...) I had to use a nipple shield just to get him to latch properly! It was always so stressful going out in public - hard to nurse when using a shield in public! Luckily, he is…
