I did test at 142/ (ast week I was low 300's high 200's) I went to teh dr. New prescription- still can't see, but my eyes are healthy. Sigh.

I'm 5'8 1/2 and very large boned, I'm headed for 180lbs to start, then see where it goes from there! I'm at 260 right now.

The GOOD thing is that I don't do any sweetened drinks or anything already. but I di need sugar on occasion- I bought swerve. it's a small bag and will probably last till Christmas.!

it was instant natural organic apple cinnimon oatmeal. I had told the dr, being sarcastic, GREAT-- I just made a Costco run and got my favorite oatmeal. She told me that I might be able to have it.- to try it. So, I tried it, and fail! I think I'll wait a bit and just have eggs for breakfast for now. :) I'll try again…

2nd part of the experiment_ I took a 1 mole walk. Down to 306! Now it's time for lunch.

I made an experiment this morning with oatmeal. Spiked my sugar 1 hour later, to 345! So, YIKES! No more oatmeal for me for a while. It was a good experiment, though, I was able to see a real difference in how food is effecting my sugar.

So glad to see this. I'm really not into artificial sweeteners, and hated the idea of having to use them. What do you use to sweeten things?

Hi, everyone! I'm Wendy, I live in Connecticut, USA. I'm 44, have 2 kids, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a husband. ;0 and an extra 100 pounds or so. I also just found out I'm type 2 diabetic. I'd love to have some new friends to cheer on and cheer me on as we get healthy! :)

Thanks for the welcome! I will check out that book- Amazon will be my next step! I was looking at the ADA site and seeing things I wasn't sure of.
