  • @middlehaitch I have to say- I Love your picture! Thanks for the inspiration. I am about a mile from the Park District gym, and I am going to give that a try. Might as well take advantage of my tax dollar investment! I live in Chicago, and can walk or ride my bike nearly everyday if I make it a priority. Right now that's…
  • It's so tough just making the choice to be healthier and then sticking to it. We need each other on this journey!
  • I can totally relate to the struggle to eat healthy and control portions. I'm not a terrible eater, and I love to cook- so portions and eliminating carbs and sweets are my real challenges. I have cut out most wheat-but it's so hard!
  • Hi! I'm new to the group and just love this! I decided to be sure I got up and moved 15 min everyday- outside in the beautiful summer weather. So far I've made it every day! It was hard to choose. I also love to read, take time to enjoy a good cup of coffee, and write in my journal. I'm trying to incorporate one of those…
  • I am inspired- and a little awed, by all the exercise regimens and progress. I am truly just getting back into this. I am starting to walk and do some speed intervals. Just 2 years ago I was doing Barre 2-3 times a week and riding my bike on weekends. 30 lbs later, I have to rebuild stamina! Finding what you live- or can…
  • This is great. I just joined the group and I think it's just what I need. I have this motto: 1 day, 1 week, 1 pound- just to keep me going. This week I want to walk at least 15 min a day, outdoors. It's so relaxing to end a hectic day with a little fresh air and quiet. PK
  • Great message. I never had trouble with finding motivation till this last 18 months. Today was day 1 - walked 20 minutes pretty fast and stayed under my calorie goal- though carbs are a little high. Motivation is what I need. I've hadMFP for 3 years, but I've never really engaged or added friends. Hoping to stay in the…
  • Thanks so much. Your success is great inspiration!
  • Thanks! I'm working on this one day/one week at a time.
  • I went grocery shopping and bought many more healthy foods. I'm putting my old yoga mat and some tennis shoes in my bag for work. It will motivate me to do the little things. I added walking to my calendar. It seems really tough but I know I'll feel better.
  • Hi there. Hope this is how you post in the group! I am pretty new to this, though I have been on Fitness Pal off and on for a couple years. I'm 58 and just can't seem to take off the 15 lbs that appeared between November and January-looking for some motivation! My April goal are to walk 7,000 steps a day, go to my Bar M…
  • Out of the month of November I missed 9 days total- but usually I was doing some other serious activity on those days. I lost 4 lbs total and more than 4 inches- back down one pants size. All in all a good month- I plan to continue into December at levels 2 and 3 with increasingly more weight until I can sustain level…
  • I finished a major house painting and worked about 6 hours a day on that for 3 days- missed my shredding, but I am back at it today- with heavier weights. Level 2 i s REALLY touch on my neck and back- I wonder if my form is not quite correct or if I am just that out of shape! I seem to be losing inches but not pounds- I…
  • I am a yes on HRT-it has been a great help to me- but my doctor like to check and make sure I need to stay on every 6 months. I am slowly moving to lower doses- I have been using a patch and progesterin each night- TERRIBLE headaches and hotflashes without it- I couldn't sleep and was nearly non-functional. I think it just…
  • I am jazzed- just finished day 10 and added extra weight. For some reason I have the hardest time with the first cardio set- after that I make it through pretty well. I have stayed on level one until I am a bit stronger- but I feel the difference already in my abs and legs.
  • Back at it today with more weight- after a couple of days down with a cold. ready for the rest f November!
  • I have been diligent- but I have a cold and this morning walked 7 miles training for the half marathon- and it nearly did me in- so I took today off instead of tomorrow. Have a great week everyone!
  • I did not make my weight AGAIN- at 154- and I can't seem to get the scale to move from there. My measurements are better- and I started the 30 DS so perhaps next week will be better!
  • Just finished Day 3- it gets a little easier, but that last ab set nearly kills me! Lower back issues make me take it just a little slower. I use lighter weights as well since I have never done any weights at all- I am hoping to add a lb up to the 5 lb each week. I am shooting to get all the way through in the 30 days of…
  • How do you calculate the calorie burn for this?
  • I have never done this before- it looks like I am a day behind you all- L1D1 just finished- wow! I made it all the way through with minimal breaks and that is really good for me. I am a bit concerned about my form at the end of the workout- have a LONG way to go!
  • I have never done the 30 Day Shred before soI am excited to have a group to do it with! Weight- 155 Chest-42 upper arm- 11.5 waist-35 pantline-43 hips-42.5 thighs-23.5 Ready to GO!
  • I have been missing in action for over a week- on a 10 day business and family trip to Chicago-and I didn't have access to a scale on Saturday to weigh in- I am sorry I let my group down! I am just happy to have maintained while eating out so much. The good news is we walked everywhere so I probably logged at least 2-3…
  • :indifferent: I have been travelling so doing the challenge exercises has been a bit of a "challenge!" I am losing weight, but so slow- though I have lost inches. I think it is a great group and really keeps me motivated- though it would be nice to see more posts from more people. I say send them a note- and give them one…
  • I am not doing so well. Weight is only down .2. I am on a 10 day vacation- so I had to use a new scale- maybe it will be better when I get home! One can only hope. In the mean time- out for a long walk each day this week- travel made it hard to do the challenge but I managed part of it. So weight is 153.8. SLOW progress.…
  • Down only .4 lbs this week:ohwell: but my measurements went down as well- .5 inches on the waist and the hips! I could not meet that pushup challenge- and regular exercise and eating just was not easy this week with work and travel-I have to MAKE time- and figure out the trick to better eating out. Any suggestions out…
  • I didn't make the pushup goal either-that one was REALLY hard!
  • Great job on the weight loss while at Disneyland- I am sure the junk food would have ruined me! I am going to a documentary premiere tonight and I am just working on keeping the calories in the ballpark at the reception!
  • I have't done 100 push ups since high school- so this should be interesting- great challenge though- have a great week everyone!
  • Ok- made the target today at 154.4- down exactly 1.2 from last week- but up a little from Wednesday. Just finished the first of 12 weeks of training walks on Saturdays for the half-marathon in January- cranked out 5 miles at an average of 16.82 miles- under our 17 minute goal!
