  • I try on an outfit one size smaller then try it on again 2-3 weeks later! Great motivation! Makes me feel good when it fits just right.

  • I'm supposed to eat 1200cal./day not including exercise calories. When I burn 500 calories during my workout, I only eat 250 of those exercise calories and I am losing about 1 lb/wk. =)

  • Thanks! I will check that out for sure!
  • Do you drink Skim milk? Very low in calories and has 8 g protein in 1 cup. 2 cups a day and you're at 16. Also, do you eat chicken? A chicken breast is LOADED with protein. I also snack on Skim Mozzarella sticks.
  • Well, cucumbers, salad, and celery are options for low calorie and low carb snacks. I eat these as a snack after dinner (around 7:30). Cut out bread completely and substitute with whole grain wraps (Flatout brand is good). This will keep your carb intake low but will still insure that you get your whole grains.
  • I always get hungry after I eat a full dinner. To curb my hunger, I have a snack. I avoid things with calories or carbs. Cucumbers, celery, or a salad helps me feel satisfied. I also always make sure I eat my dinner before 7pm as this helps me from gaining weight. Good luck! We're all rooting for you!
  • I totally feel your pain. I'm trying to lose 20 lbs to get back to pre-pregnancy weight! I would suggest working out at work (before or after) if there is a gym there. You won't be distracted by your children and their needs. Just think of how great you're going to look in your new wardrobe! That's what keeps me going.…
  • Thanks for this great reminder to increase our intake of fruits and veggies!
  • Good for you! You are an inspiration to many!
  • I will be watching because I will be working out then!
  • So, if MFP is telling me to eat 2000 calories, I should be?
  • After I had my first child, I used the elliptical to lose the weight. Sounds like you have the resistance too high. I would do low resistance and then do a 5 for about 10 min. and back and forth. I would do it for at least 45 min. if you're looking to lose some serious weight!
  • Sounds like I need to. After I had my first child I worked out 5 days/wk and burned 1,000 calories each session on the elliptical...no lie. I lost about 13 lbs in about 2 months. Now my elliptical is broken and I am running on my treadmill. I have no idea how a treadmill will work as far as losing weight goes...
  • My diet is very healthy (almonds, low-carb wraps, lots of lettuce/salad, and ground turkey). I burn about 370 calories for 38 min. of running (I have to walk fast for a little bit b/c of my asthma). Is this enough to lose weight? I also do some weight training for about 15 minutes. I'm trying to lose around 20 lbs by…
  • Judging by your CW, we are about the same. I have 3 months to fit into a size 6 bridesmaids dress (yes, I ordered one size smaller)! 2 years ago, after I had my first child, I worked out about 5 days a week on the elliptical and burned 1,000 calories each day on that thing. Kind of insane, but I dropped 13 lbs in about 2…
  • Congrats on being so close to your goal weight, btw!
  • Thanks for that encouragement! I don't even run outside any more because it was so rough on my system.
  • I would think protein would be better because you are building muscle when you work out. Is there a point when you can have too much protein?
