Anyone use Avocado Oil? I bought some on a whim, says it's for high temp cooking, which can happen around here... flames, burning, etc... lol Just curious if anyone had used it. Wondering about the taste. Will find out tonight.

Lemon Cloud Fat Bombs 4 tbsp butter 4 tbsp virgin coconut oil 2oz cream cheese 4 tbsp heavy cream 1 lemon, squeezed 1 tsp lemon extract (optional, can also sub vanilla) sweetener to taste Ice cube tray OR silicone mold (NOTE: the little paper cups will not work for this version- the batter is much thinner/more liquid and…

Well I binged today. On fat, but still it was a binge. Totally stress driven. I am a moderator on a neighborhood site and it has gotten ugly. Everyone wants me to do something different and I'm being hit with screams of censorship (even though the posts do not adhere to the guidelines) and screams of "you don't care". And…

Oh MY Gosh! You look fantastic for 65! I wanna grow up and be like you. Power washed my house and cleaned out the flower bed, replanting it and digging out an old rose bush that just grew and grew and drove me crazy. I went over in calories (I always go over in calories boo...) but am only 2 net grams of carb over…

Foam rolling is EVIL. Necessary but EVIL. Foam rolling makes my IT band scream but afterwards it is soooooo good. Okay, maybe not all the time but it works.

Little Killian's newborn pictures. He started out at 9 lbs. 13 oz. 3 weeks of age now and he's up to 11 pounds. The boy is a good eater!

I actually started walking with my husband. He walks and I have to jog to keep up with him. With a 37" inseam his legs are quite a bit longer than mine and I take two steps to his one. lol But after a while I wanted more than just walking and found a personal trainer. I remember my first real workout with my trainer. It is…

@bannierooster: I measure macadamia nuts out to 1 serving and seal them in little bags (I have a FoodSaver vaccum sealer which I use to make little bags the right size but ziploc snack sized bags would work great). 1 serving of macadamia nuts is about 10 nuts and that little amount of fat is great to stave off the munchies…

Okay, a couple of questions..... First I just don't lose weight. I'm consistent with less than 20 grams of carbs about 73% fat, keeping around 23% protein.... The weight just doesn't budge BUT the inches are slowly and I mean S L O W L Y going down. I know it will happen but sheesh I get tired of seeing "down 2 pounds!".…

lol. I've been playing with the same pound for three months. We're on a first name basis.... Worked out in the yard pulling more roots and clearing the vine out. Seriously, another 50+ foot root. This vine is determined to survive! I was smart though and wore all long sleeves, gloves, boots, long pants... no poison sumac…

I gave in to the munchies. :frowning: At least I munched on macadamia nuts but I had way too many. Don't even want to consider the calorie intake. Stress eating totally. I have to be a duck..... let it roll off my back.... (neighborhood HOA issues). All good, I'll recover. Probably not even be hungry tomorrow morning. lol…

Excitement for the day here is I got my 3 yr old granddaughter to actually go into the swimming pool with me. She usually just sits on the edge and refuses to go in. By the end of the afternoon she was leaping into the pool on her own and swimming back to the edge without grandma holding on to her at all! That is a…

Becca I love the clematis! I so wish I could grow it here but the intensity of our summers just kill it. I had lovely clematis when I lived in Illinois and miss it (and the tulips which I can't grow here either!) Marcelyn

Isn't that the truth. After five years of being told fat bad!!!!! bad!!!! no fat!!!!! I struggle with changing my mindset. What helps is that the food is truly SO much better tasting with all the fat in it. What a simple test to use. It makes total sense. Thanks! Getting ready to hit the swimming pool with grandkids. Won't…

This made me laugh. Seriously my dinner tonight was a whopping 968 calories but only 6 net carbs. It was delicious, Asian Stir Fry Cabbage. Of course I may "toot" all night. lol If I stuck with 1200 calories I'd be in serious trouble. I do try to stay within my calorie goal, mid 1300s but sometimes that just doesn't…

Weight gain today but I kind of expected that due to the steroid I'm on. I hate steroids but this rash from the poison sumac has got to go! Only on it for two weeks at a tapering dosage. It's not making me hungry but does cause some water retention and hyperactivity (which I am putting to good use cleaning my house lol).…

I haven't read anything about Keto causing migraines. The information I've read is that it helps stop migraines as well as many other brain disorder/diseases. Would be interesting to see what you find out.

Thanks for the input. Right now I have my macros set for Carbs 6% / 20 g Protein 19%/62 grams and Fat 75%/110 grams. I'm a tad bit over 5'6". Some days I make it some days I don't but I always try to stay under 20 grams net carbs each day. I'm beginning to think that my activity has something to do with it. I have always…

I don't know if I should be discouraged or not. 3 weeks of eating Keto on a strict 20 g carb limit and I have only list 2 pounds. My husband drops weight easily and is down 10 pounds and he eats a lot more carbs than me! Everyone is always posting great losses and I'm wondering what my issue is. Too much protein? I know I…

A chigger is a microscopic mite. You can't see them they are so tiny. Despite what people think they do not burrow into your skin, they just insert a feeding tube to feed from. Long explanation of enzymes etc I won't get into. They are related to ticks but it is the larva that attaches itself to you. Or tries to. They…

I stayed in calorie range today but was still high in protein. Day 3 stats: Fat 67% 97 g Protein 29% 93 g Carbs 4% 13 g The biggest success was when I went to the Dr and stepped on the scale and for once I didn't weigh more than I did at home. I swear Dr. office scales haves built in 5 lb weight. Lol

I broke down and went to the Dr as the chigger bites seemed infected plus I am now getting spots everywhere. Seems I do have some chigger bites but what I really tangled with was poison sumac. I had been on the lookout for poison ivy but didn't think of sumac. Now my body is reacting with a secondary reaction. Normal but…

Day 2 macros. Only problem is I went way over on calories. Stress eating. *sigh*.

Wow, that picture posted WAY bigger than I thought it would. Guess I can't go direct from a screen shot.... I find very large pictures annoying... lol So sorry about that folks. I've heard that the hardest for men to give up is their beer and for women it's their fruit. But I agree with you on bread. I'm looking high and…

Success at the Mexican food restaurant today.... had a fajita beef salad.... ate it all with extra guacamole and cheese and left the crispy shell and the refried beans they use to "glue" it to the plate. Ended up with 6 carbs, 27 protein and 23 fat. Now to up the fat for the rest of the day..... of course the bacon this…

I'm in! Thanks Mary for pointing me this direction. I'm Marcelyn, 57 and live in the Houston area. My husband also eats low carb which makes my life a lot easier. I crave Mexican food. Goals Daily weigh in 20 net grams of carbs a day More water! 45 minutes dedicated exercise minutes per day Weight loss - will take anything…

A most productive day. I'd say it was a successful day. House is clean. Daughter on her own today so no grandkid stuff. My food intake was almost perfect (76 gr. protein 9 gr. carbs and 105 gr. fat - a little high on the protein but very happy with the 74% of calories coming from fat). Hosted our dive club meeting tonight…
