Well at least the Falcons and Patriots made it a game worth screwing with my traffic for the week. Wow. Marcelyn in Houston

So I went to the concert last night and did my part in infecting the world. Actually I made it through the concert without coughing thanks to taking the meds the Dr. prescribed at just the perfect timing. There were a LOT of people there coughing though so I wasn't the only one in my situation. Yo-Yo Ma was wonderful and…

So far my day has consisted of:* cough cough cough * sniffle sniffle sniffle * visit Redi-clinic get prescriptions * back to bed * cough cough cough * eat lunch provided by loving husband * sniffle sniffle * and now I'm going to try to sleep so I can still go out and infect the world tonight..... Yes, I am. NO WAY I'm…

My husband went to Philmont as a boy and then twice as an adult leader. I went once as an adult leader (did an 84 mile trek), my daughter went once and my son went twice as a scout and then worked there for three years as a Ranger. Philmont has a lot of special memories for all of us. We lived in the council where it is…

For me it's a matter of do I want to do a full. I keep toying with it but so far I stick with the half. My son and I run the same races. He does the full and I do the half. I tell him I'm the rabbit he's the hound and his job is to catch me. lol My son just started running about five years ago and loves it. He does about…

Morning all. Up and at it this morning. Headed to the museum with my daughter and her three kids. Dinosaur day. The half marathon went well. SUPER slow. I was walking with a friend who had never done one, and never walked farther than six miles. She had jelly legs the last mile or two but she made it. I decided that…

Another half-marathon this weekend. Cooler this time which will be nice. The last one was hot! I don't like doing them in 75 degree weather. This one will be in the 40s and low 50s. Not bad. Marcelyn in Houston

Allie - DO NOT BE MANIPULATED BY TOM! I've stayed out of the discussion but please please don't try to do this yourself just to save a buck on a lawyer. If Tom won't go through mediation with a third party that is chosen by you (you choose them, not him!!!!) then get a lawyer and follow his advice. Tom will do anything he…

I went and picked up my packet for the race on Sunday. Scored some new shoes at the Expo, always good deals at the Expo. I also went by a PT booth and they taped up my shoulder to give it some support during the race. I'm planning on just walking the race and not running. I've got my mile down to a 14:30 minute so I'll…

The bra is made by enell. They are seriously strong bras. They are not a stretchy fabric and actually are a satin so that your clothes slide across them instead of hanging up on it like sometimes happens with bras and clothes. I was a size 2 according to the website but when I went in to try one on at a local place I ended…

Keep the Trek bike, you can't beat them. Just don't use all the gears and go buy a couch to sit on. :) That's what I call my cushy seat. I had one of those kill the butt racing seats and went and found a wide gel filled seat and thoroughly enjoy riding miles now. It will be a lot cheaper in the long run too!

Looks like rain on Sunday. Oh *%&)#. I really hate running in the rain. Cold is fine. Hot not so fine. Hot and humid the worst but warm and raining.... rotten. Second worst weather for a race in my book. It looks like it will start out in the low 60s and end up in the mid-70s during the race with rain a high probability.…

Morning. Headed out to run. Half-marathon in six days and I am not even close to being ready. This shoulder kills me when I jog so I'm working on upping my fast walk speed.... Got a new running bra though, holds me like a block of concrete and is still comfy so maybe that will help... except it isn't made from a wicking…

Okay, I'm going to relate two different panhandler interactions I've had. As a result I am quite skeptical of panhandlers as they are not always what they seems to be. In our city we have HUNDREDS of panhandlers at any given time so you need to be careful and discerning. So.... here are my stories. My daughter and were…

Yo. Got attacked by a giant burrito tonight. It grabbed me and threw itself down my throat. It was ugly. Police won't get involved, say it's a "self-induced crime." Marcelyn just home from her comfort dinner in Houston

Spent yesterday walking the zoo with my daughter and a couple of grandkids. It was a fun day. Quite warm, almost 80 degrees. Makes the 40 degrees I woke up to quite cold! I took along my camera for fun. This giraffe had attitude.... Marcelyn in the city which can't decide if it's supposed to be warm or cold. Houston

Today was my last day of watching Grandchildren for school break. Tomorrow I wake up to Freeeeeedddddooooommmmm! lol I love my grandchildren but I'm just not used to kids every day, all day for 2 weeks. We spent out last day at the zoo. One of my daughter's brought her two kids and we made it a cousin outing. It was fun.…

I brought in the New Year cheering my son and grandson across the finish line of their races. My grandson is age 10 and ran his first half-marathon. He came in with a time of 2:31! My son went on and finished the full marathon after dropping off his son at the half finish line. My grandson crossing the finish line. 13.1…

I'm not running until the Houston Marathon/Aramco Half on the 15th but my 10 yr old grandson is running his first half-marathon tomorrow. He's doing the TX marathon/half-marathon in Kingwood. Today he picked up his runner's bib and was all smiles. He is super excited to be doing his first half. We expect him to finish…

The messaging system on MFP stinks. It never EVER lets me private message someone unless they are my friend and even then not all the time. I can never PM someone from this thread. I just gave up.
