  • Hello!! I'm just starting out with KETO - about 3/4 weeks in. So I do not pretend to know very much but will help if I can. Whats your reason for doing KETO? And if you get the breakfast/lunch/dinner part then you are pretty much set. The terms and the %'s are not essential in my view :-)

  • Thanks both - been going almost 2 weeks and apart from today there has been no supply issue (and today its cycle related i think, will be fine tomorrow) I'm not going to really count, but will try and log so I can go back and spot an issue if I don't loose - but so far so good. :-)
  • It makes absolutely no difference, as long as you are then using the appropriate nutritional information - i.e. for raw or cooked. I usually do it before I cook as I often add other things to the plan as well so its impractical afterwards, but its just personal preference.
  • THIS. Internet forums can't provide you with advice on this kind of thing - speak to a professional who can support you properly and look after yourself x
  • Can you recommend any good titles?
  • Hi! I'm due almost the same time - I'm about 9 weeks now. Still all a bit unreal - I can't believe so much is happening inside me and I only have vomiting and exhaustion to show for it LOL
  • This is an old thread but might have some gems in it - I confess I've not read it all http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/922784-the-truth-about-detoxing-body-cleansing-colon-cleansing
  • Why would you want to do it? The pictures you see are not 'proof your colon is full of rubbish' its the clay you have just eaten coming out. Sorry to sound harsh but I HATE these products
  • Your profile and diary is only available to your friends at the moment so cannot see what you have eaten. But has it changed in any way from before? Are you strictly weighing/measuring?
  • CONGRATULATIONS! I'm 8+4 weeks pregnant and have been using MFP since I found out I was pregnant. I've set my calories to maintain my weight, and I'm also using it to track major nutrients - such as iron and calcium. (I'm finding the later hard as many entries in the database don't list these). I'm not trying to loose…
  • Sorry to hear you are making all this effort and not getting the results. I don't have enough knowledge or experience to know why it isn't happening or you, but when I've faced a similar situation these are things I've tried and worked for me: 1) Set my activity level to sedentary and then logged back my exercise using a…
  • 20lbs isn't a huge amount over your ideal weight, so personally I wouldn't try and loose weight, but from what I've read maintaining during the 1st trimester is pretty healthy. My midwife was adamant yesterday that what I am eating is much more important than what my weight does (I've lost 8lbs so far) but then I'm almost…
  • Not necessarily. It depends on your size and the individual. I eat more than this, and do less exercise, and still lose weight. The important thing is to know how many calories YOU need. OP = I find that I often underestimate portion sizes (are you measuring EVERYTHING?) You may be eating more than you think. Also, if you…
  • Thanks! It was delicious too! I think you are right, if on balance most days are healthy then I guess I'm doing OK.

  • Oooooh! They sound awesome. :-) I confess though. I couldn't resist the steak. It was amazingly good!

  • Kale chips or cauliflower popcorn. Both lush!
  • I have a samson advanced juicer - its a single auger slow press. I find it much better than my old centrifugal one, which i hardly ever used because it made so much mess! This is a breeze to clean up and you get more juice. Also I like it as you can do greens - like spinach and kale. The only downside was the cost. So it…
  • Congratulations! I'm also on my first pregnancy, but only 7 weeks along. I gained a lot of weight before getting pregnant, and have actually lost 8lbs since (backwards I know!) since finding out because of better eating. I'm also nervous about gaining the right amount for baby. Good luck!
  • Thanks for the advice! I'm dumping the nutritionalist as I am not convinced of her competence. When I had a really proper look through everything there was lots of things that pregnant women shouldn't eat on her plan - dippy eggs, sea bass, salmon too often etc. This week I should get to see the midwife for the first time,…
  • CONGRATULATIONS to you too! What is it with dieticians and nutritionalists and 1200 calories?! I don't think I could get out of bed on so little food LOL. Your plan seems a good one though and similar to mine at the moment. I'm averaging about 1900 calories and still losing weight, so going to speak to the midwife this…
  • I'm certainly in a similar boat! I'm way over the obese line at the moment though. I have set my calories on here to maintain, and I'm trying to fill them with as nutrient dense foods as possible. Lots of lentils/chick peas/wholegrains. I'm limiting the sugar where I can, and making as much from scratch as possible. I too…
  • 7 weeks today! I'm in the obese catagory heavier than I've ever been (due to comfort eating for 2 years whilst trying to get pregnant!) Since my 2 lines on the stick my eating has been near perfect and in fact I've lost about a7lbs. Trying not to worry about the weight loss, as I am eating almost 2000 calories a day most…
  • I always expect someone to interview in a suit or similar - even though our office itself tends to dress slightly more casually most days. For a women a wrap dress with a jacket and heals always fits the bit if a full suit id too much for your style. Not sure where you are based, I assume UK given you have ordered a dress…
  • Did you enjoy it? Did you log it?
  • Ooooh. I like sesame butter - had no idea it had so much calcium!
  • Yes, I'm taking the pregnacare vitamins, which include the whole range of things, but in the past I've had trouble absorbing my vitamins because of a childhood illness of the digestive system. So the doctor has always recommended getting as wide a variety of sources as possible
  • I am taking one at the moment as an insurance policy so to speak, but would prefer to be able to get as much as possible from food
  • THANKS RODA! Am I right in thinking that the final number on each line is mg?
  • Haven't they! I remember reading an article about how its not even a particularly good source, as other things in the milk either leech calcium from your bones or stop it being absorbed when you are an adult. But of course now I cannot find it!
