  • Hi - how old is baby? I'm keto and breastfeeding, and my supply has dropped quite a bit. BUT there are lots of other things going on for me such as baby is approaching 2 years, I'm not pumping as often as I used to etc etc. I started by cutting all carbs except veg out, but now I'm relatively maintstream.
  • This was my main worry - I sort of assumed it gave you more calories for stairs as they are harder, so pleased that it doesn't. I like to count the stairs some days as a general indication of becoming more active, but now I have better context for using the data. Thanks . I try really hard not to do this!! But I'm quite…
  • Thanks! That makes a lot of sense. I work in a docks area and my lunchtime walk i always really windy!
  • Mine also still not working - do we need to reboot anything? Or reconnect the apps?
  • No it's collagen and hydrolysed. But most of the brands in coming across are flavoured - such as My Protein brand. I'm sure there are good ones out there but it's knowing what to trust if I do go down that route.
  • I think this is probably my default position usually, but my nutrient profile on here is coming up short on most things each day so I really need to sort it out. Agree the food I eat is probably the best way to do it. But for example calcium I'm short unless my carbs are over. But, the nagging voice in my head says its…
  • Thanks - I know I have a history of magnesium deficiency, which is one of the reason for the trace minerals. Might be all in my mind but certainly feel like I slept better last night, and less aches and pains today. The collagen (whilst appreciating different brands in the US) does it have sweetner? Struggling to find any…
  • hahahahaha. I've tried a couple of recipies and not yet found anything particulary palatable. Share your recipie? (For occaisional use only!!)
  • Which is exactly what I am thinking. [quote} Modern agriculture has leeched so many nutrients out of our food, that they actually have to add it back in. I'm sure cavemen needed no supplementation, because their food was different and more nutrient dense. [/quote] Agree. But we are not able to have access to those foods,…
  • This is really good advice I think. A qualified second opinion would give you chance to talk through some of the ideas here.
  • Hi prettydreamy - are you measuring fat loss percentage? I'm sure it will even out, beginner muscle gain is tempoary, you soon have to work really hard to build muscle! (Unfortunately!!) What sort of strength training arre you doing?
  • I cannot see how you could do both - the energy to sustain you needs to come from somewhere. What was your cholesterol like before you lost weight? Has it gone up, or is it already on a downward trend?
  • I really like the beach body workout Charlene extreme - but it's expensive if you cannot get it second hand or know someone to borrow it off. But basically start low (or with a band) and build up. No real limit to how heavy you can go. Heavy is best in terms of seeing progress and getting that nice women shape most of us…
  • Are you in the UK? Certainly round my way it would be odd!
  • Hey! I've had ME for over a decade and my experience is you will have good days/weeks/months and bad ones. You can't let that worry you. Progress will not be linear. What exercise to do depends very much on your symptoms. In addition to fatigue most patients have a range of other symptoms - for me a lot is cognative, but…
  • Thanks everyone. In the end I powered through with a bottle of water and just arrived home to the smell of husband cooking a lamb roast for me! I need to do more research for next time though. (I was going to bunless burger but local macdonalds was packed and couldnt face explaining!!) Thanks for all the ideas though (and…
  • Ah, but maybe they actually do have extrememly complex and delicious tastes, but we are so afflicted it just doesn't show itself for us!! I wonder if the same works with chocolate...... I have no issue there with tasting it LOL
  • Thanks for that - interesting that as body fat stores reduce appitite can increase. And makes sense to me too. I am struggle with this balance, always thought "don't go low on calories" but also firm believer not to eat what I dont want. Think I'll just keep going a few weeks and not worry too much :-)
  • Sorry I should say it 500-1000 below the deficit I've already built in to lose 1-2 lb a week, but agree with your point anyway :-)
  • I agree kpk54 - never had this big a deficit before when lossing weight, and I've always eaten back all my exercise calories. Its just too hard this time! I literally feel like I'm stuffing my face with fat bombs to make up the calories because I can't face anything which takes up more space LOL
  • Not sure how much weight you are losing - but it is likely that it is made up of some fat and some muscle. Figures just for ease of maths (I'm not sure your weight etc). But, say you initially weighed 200lb with 41.6% fat. That means you were initiall 83lb of fat and 117lb of other weight (muscle and bone etc) Now say…
  • Not sure what you class as very low calorie - I don't think I hit it personally. Always over 1000 calorie mark, and mostly nearer to 1500. But I also have a high calorie need because of size etc. And then when you add in a few hundred calories a day for exercise (heart rate and fit but measured not MFP) then the deficit…
  • Hey! Yes its normal to lose some muscle as well as fat when losing weight (especially if its coming off quickly). The weights will help. A LOT! Also its a very short period of time, so you can't really judge at this stage and all sorts of things can change the scale measurements by a tiny bit. When you say you are 'not…
  • I've not heard of country heat ! Will take a look
  • Thanks both. Yes I have an awful lot to lose, the shelves will be well stocked for some time!!
  • Is it strength based? (Like the one with an x?) And do you need equipment?
  • Thanks all - what sort of programme is CIZE?
  • When I wanted sugar the first week or so I just ate more fat. Discovered chocolate fat bombs (basically chocolate, cocoa butter, almond butter and real butter). It feels very decedant and almost like a chocolate truffle. You can do this!! Keep strong x
  • I had a very similar experience whilst pregnant with Gestational Diabeties (so low carb for very different reasons). In the end I just used to say "I'm focusing my meals around nice cuts of meat and veggies" They were happy and it wasn't a lie. Just my idea of a nice cut of meat included lots of fatty bits hahahahaha
  • I'm in the same boat - Starting weight 240+. Current weight 229. Target weight - somewhere below 170 (see how i feel nearer the mark) Please add me :-)
