  • Just sent you a request. I'm finding that I can't have too many friends on this site. I love the support and giving the support.
  • I love Fat 2 Fit Radio.
  • Great job! Now you know you could do it all the time if you wanted. Just think of all the extra calories you will burn.
  • No, you will not always be so horrible at this. You are making an effort and learning how many calories are in everything and how to eat. This is a huge learning process and no one is perfect at it the first time around. Just keep trying.
  • Funny, my dad was the one to tell me to do it. I kept whining about how slow my weight loss was. Then he told me about it, and kept telling me about it. His boss did it with his wife and had amazing results. Finally he offered to buy the book for me. I have read most of the book. I disagree with a lot of his philosophy,…
  • I have a feeling I'm going to be "cheating" during the first 17 days. My lifestyle just doesn't allow so much restriction 100% of the time. What convinced me to do it is that my dad's friend lost weight even when cheating on it. The whole philosophy of the book is introducing healthy eating to those who don't know how to…
  • It is basically a diet plan that cuts out most carbs and sugars for 17 days then slowly reintroduces whole grains and fruit sugars during two additional 17 day cycles. The calorie count is extremely low for the first 17 days, less than 1200. But maybe I just didn't eat enough protein or food yesterday. You can see what I'm…
  • I'm doing the plan along with MFP and actually am planning on gaining a few pounds back but am just curious to see how much weight I do lose. And I figure if I do the first cycle, then maintain for a few weeks then go onto the next cycle and so on and so forth then I shouldn't gain all of the weight back. But I do agree,…
  • bump...I'm interested in responses too.
  • I'm on the second day now. Not sure if I'm loving the idea or not because I am a firm believer in eating more to lose more and that you can screw up your metabolism by eating too little. That being said, I lost .9 pounds between yesterday and today. The debate goes on in my head though, wondering if I'm screwing up my…
  • Great job on losing 28 pounds!!! It shows that you have been making an effort to live a healthy lifestyle and are probably feeling the benefits of that lifestyle. Maybe you should step away from the scale, and counting calories, and focus on living that healthy lifestyle. Maybe give yourself 2 months to live the healthy…
  • You could always live the healthy life style except for that one night. You could go in with the knowledge that you have been eating healthy and will allow yourself to indulge in limited amounts of this food and you will be starting fresh the next morning with a healthy breakfast and exercise. This is after all a lifestyle…
  • Day 4 and I went for a run and I think I have tracked all the food I will eat today. Still have to wait for it to get to the end of the day to find out. Welcome to all the new comers!
  • It sounds like you were having some fun with your experiment. Glad to see that most people's common sense is correct.
  • My only suggestion is to allow yourself to have the treat, but only after you have drank a bottle of water or done 100 jumping jacks or 50 crunches or ate some carrots. You get the idea, distract yourself from the craving. And really if you still want whatever you are craving after distracting yourself then give in to the…
  • It sounds like he wants to approach this from the right perspective and you have a wonderful opportunity to teach him about how to live a healthy, active lifestyle. I just wanted to mention a little tid bit of information my mom always told me. Her sister was always a little heavier as a kid and because of this she learned…
  • The Wii Fit Plus and board are worth it in my opinion. I love the fact that it tracks my progress, tells me how many calories I am burning, and has a points system that I can us to compete with hubby. We haven't been using it a lot in the past couple of weeks but I'm sure I will pick it up again. I haven't tried the…
  • Anyone can feel free to add me as a friend. I will keep checking back here on Mondays to report my progress. I will also keep a running tally in my status updates. Day 1 down and onto day 2.
  • I like the idea of Monday check ins with chatting through the week.
  • I just counted out 50 days. That takes us to May 29th. Just after Memorial Day weekend.
  • I have a self imposed rule, I can't post my exercise if I don't post my food. I have a tendency to skip posting my food during the weekends because I know I eat over my goal calories. Congratulations on being so close to goal!
  • I'm in. I tend to get lazy on the weekends and not want to move. 50 days of exercise sounds good. I may add 50 days of tracking my food and completing my food journal every day.
  • I love using the Wii for exercise. I like the Rhythm Boxing on the Wii Fit Plus and the Obstacle Course. We just got Zumba 2 this weekend. I did one of the medium length classes but didn't have the remote in the belt correctly so it didn't measure my movements. I still got a good workout though. It is nice to incorporate…
  • Congratulations! I realized today that I went from Severely Obese to just Obese, and am looking forward to the day when I am just Overweight, and ultimately at a healthy weight.
  • Inspiring. Keep up the great work!
  • Daily, in the morning when I first wake up. I track it using the Weight Bot app on my Iphone. I love seeing the progress from day to day and week to week. I know it is suggested to do it only once a week, but daily works for me.
  • I haven't read all of the suggestions, but it looks like some posters have already suggested different magazines. I would suggest going to the Fitness Magazine website and looking at some of their meal plans. They have a month long diet plan with working out and the food was all super easy to prepare and had great short…
  • I usually log it on the second day that the number appears. My weight tends to yo yo a few pounds so I always want to make sure it stays around for a few days. Of course I never log those little gains. Just the losses.
