  • Sorry for your loss! My tragedies weren't quite that tragic but it took a toll on me none-the-less. I have been steadily losing over the last year and was starting a 90 day challenge at teh boot camp I belong to last summer/fall. Three weeks into it my son and his friend had a four-wheeler, dirt-bike accident. My son (18)…
  • I take my tablet down on the treadmill and pull up a movie on netflix so that encourages me to get down there because I can only watch the movie when I am on the treadmill. However, I am one of those people who don't have the confidence to go very long without grabbing the handrails. I try a slow jog at 4.2-4.5 and can…
  • don't rely on the scale for your results! I am scale obsessive - I used to weight 2-3 times per day! I now weigh one time a day at most and am trying to only do it every few days. I am trying to focus on how I feel, how my clothes fit and how I look (gulp) naked. Depending on your exercise level and activity there may be…
  • Water is key for me. I drink a gallon a day. I eat more protein than carbs, but still get in a substantial amount of carbs. My numbers equal about 24 g Protein, 17 g Carbs and 5 g Fat for each meal and I do 5-6 meals per day. My cals are at 1264 net - some days I get all my net in, some days I don't. Some days I am…
  • cutting back on sugars, processed foods, white bread, white rice, white potatoes, white pasta etc.... the more wholesome your food and the less processed the foods are the flatter your belly will be....a lot of it is the foods you eat that cause the distended feeling - my carbs come from oatmeal, sweet potatoes, beans - I…
  • Batch cooking is the best for making large meals fairly cheap. I also make a big bowl of tuna sald, throw a couple of hard boiled eggs in, chopped celery, bit of sweet pickles and a little mayo - eat on a wrap or a arnold thin Put a couple of chicken breasts in a crockpot with a jar of salsa or a pouch of taco seasoning…
  • my target is 1264 a day and my diary is open...feel free to add me :) Angie
  • I am 48 and would love to have more friends in this area. I have been married 28 years, have 2 children (23 and 18) and have lost 60ish lbs. Anyone feel free to add me as well. Angie
  • So awesome! I have lost 60ish and have another 60ish to lose. Proof that it can be done! I WILL get there Angie
  • cake, cookies, bars....sugar in general. I am getting better, but if I eat one I will continue so it is best to just stay away!!!! I have been looking at alternative recipes using protein powders or fruits to replace the sugar aspect for brownies, cakes and cookies. Angie
  • Not everyone lives in a climate where they can comfortably walk outside year round...right now we have ice and about 6" of snow and about 20 degrees so I am not walking outside anytime soon. I grab the handrails because of checking heart rate and also because I have balance problems on the treadmill - sometimes I literally…
  • I've never noticed it when I drive....I did have a pedometer once that when we went for a motorcycle ride (about 2 hrs) it logged me at 13,000 steps - LOL As far as the Fitbit I have found it fairly accurate - undauntingly so sometimes- and have never noticed any unusual activity when i am driving - I have never ridden the…
  • You may need to tweak your macros...increase protein, drop carbs a bit - make sure carbs are from whole grains, brown rice, quinoa, beans, sweet potatoes or red potatoes if you don't like sweet, squash, limit the bread sources to maybe 1x a day and use only the whole grain make sure protein is lean.... reduce the amount of…
  • Feel free to add me ... I am 48 - will be 49 in July!! Agreed that it is much harder to lose now, but the rewards are so worth it. Am down 60ish and have another 60+ to go. I try to log on daily. Best of luck to everyone! Angie
  • Anyone can feel to add me. I have been at this new lifestyle for 1 1/2 years and have lost 60ish lbs. I have another 60-70 to lose but have had a few setbacks and detours..However I keep plugging along! Good luck and I look forward to the motivation and successes from others!
  • Anyone can feel free to add me as well. I have lost 60ish and have about 60-70 more to go! Totally doable!!! I love receiving motivation and support and seeing everyone else's successes makes it so much easier!
  • Feel free to add me...I have started logging back in here again recently and plan on keeping it up for a 90 day challenge I am participating in at a local fitness club. Angie
  • Now I am just starting a 90 day program and my trainer put me on a 1264 calorie day program with 594.8 calories from protein, 252.8 from fat and 416.4 from carbs which breaks down to 24.8 g protein, 4.7 g fat and 17.4 grams carbs for each meal (6 meals a day). This is also doing 3 bootcamps a week and 40 minutes cardio…
  • I put mine in a muffin tin and bake them. I also grease a muffin tin with coconut oil, take a piece of turkey bacon and line the edge of the tin with the bacon, put some chopped peppers, mushrooms in the bottom and crack an egg on top and bake for about 20 minutes. Soo good!! Pinterest has tons of ideas that I love!!! Angie
  • I am so interested in this as well. I really want to run and I try on the treadmill (and outside) but feel I am only doing a fast walk. I vary between 4.5 and 5 for my "run" and 4 to 4.5 for my walk. I can get about 2 minutes at my "run" before I have to slow down or grab the bars. It is so frustrating - I don't feel like…
  • Hello all! I will be 49 in July. I have been up and down my entire adult life - never getting below 180. I hit my all time high of 295 December 2010. I started watching things a bit over the next several months and got down to about 285. July 2011 I walked into a boot camp facility in my area and haven't looked back. It…
