For me, the treadmill hurts my knees. I stick to the elliptical, and put it at a high resistance and incline. I feel it gives me a great workout, both cardio and muscle. It's like running up hills.

A tip - don't get on the scale. Throw it out. As long as you are losing inches and your clothes fit better, you are doing it right. If you mentally need the scale feedback, limit it to once a week. Stick it in the closet and pull it out Saturday morning. And eat more, don't starve yourself sick! Good luck!

Have you been checked for diabetes? If you are having a big problem dropping to low carbs, try to lower your carb intake a little bit every day. Keep good records on here, and try eating 10g less every day. Possibly eat most of your carbs for breakfast and lunch, sounds like that is when they would be most helpful to you.…

I wonder about that too, but if you can adjust the incline on the elliptical, its more like jogging up steps than running. Can also increase the resistance on the elliptical. There are times when I get far more sore and sweaty on the elliptical than on a treadmill!

I have never been to planet fitness, but I have only heard BAD things about them.

Ketosis is good, it is the result of fat being utilized. Ketoacidosis is bad.

I've never done a spartan race, but read about them. Seems that pull-ups and push-ups would be the most functional training for that type of race. Knock out 50 of each to your workouts!

Hey... not sure of your goals either - you look pretty good in your profile pic! I lift weights 4 times a week, and do cardio 3 times a week, so i dont think you are over-doing it, unless you get injured. If you are having trouble recuperating, maybe cut out a day for rest? I find stress keeps me from losing weight, which…

Pressing on a smith machine is easier, but you dont get to use extra muscles to balance the bar. I use the smith machine when I dont have someone to spot me. Overhead press is also good to help with bench press.

Please tell me what the difference is between fruit sugar and processed sugar / carbs. Fructose, glucose, sucrose, all digested the same.

Your food diary looks good, maybe a bit high on the sodium... How long have you been eating healthier? Take any prescription medications? Exercising? Just keep going, it takes time!

Weigh yourself 10 times and take the average. I doubt bathroom scales are very accurate!

Yes, some brain fog and dizziness is common. It happens as you detox, and your brain switches from getting its energy from glucose from sugar / carbs to getting energy from ketones from fat. Look up keto diet, or reddit.com/r/keto. Drinking warm broth helps, like chicken broth. Keep it going, you'll be surprisd how much…

Exactly. No one is watching you, or judging you. I've been going to the gym for years, and I still read the directions on the machines (when I use them).

Since I started eating Keto / low carb, not only do I have much more energy and don't get the after-lunch-sleepys, I have found that my mood is much better. When I do slip and eat carbs / sugar, I find that I get very depressed. Not depressed because I ate bad, but just depressed about everything. That's enough to keep me…

When I first started, I managed about 15 minutes, then rested and did as much as I could for the rest of the session. But every day, I went a bit further. Just keep at it every day - you will make it!

Try to lower your head a little. Looking up will arch your back. I see many people lifting their head up to watch themselves in the mirror, which naturally arches their back.

Maybe you are too stressed about reaching your goal by christmas? Losing isn't always a quick thing. Relax, eat healthy and exercise, and dont get on the scale every day. Good luck!

Running 9 miles? Yeah, you probably need some high carbs in there! If you make your food log public, we can give thoughts on that... And hold you accountable too.

Depends how strict you are with avoiding sugar. I tend to avoid most fruits, since I've read they have been bred to have more sugar (fructose). I avoid carrots since they have more sugar than other vegetables. Again, its a matter of how strict you want to be. I'm going for fat loss, so I track it pretty close.
-
Do you track your food on here? I don't see 1550 worth of calories in that list!

Where do you find out where these meets are? I'd love to see one, then work up to competing!

yeah, right? big cravings. I tried to eat beef jerky when I quit, I went through so many bags of that stuff I just about puked.

try eating more. Seriously! not candy, coke, breads, or pasta. Good food. I've read that your body keeps fat if you don't eat enough food. I'm in the same boat (but male, and much older). I eat more and don't gain weight, since I exercise every day. When you get your metabolism back up to speed, then you can cut back.

For sure! I really dont know how long I can keep eating this much, and I know I am still not eating enough. I feel fat, bloated, and sluggish all day. After spending the last 2 years eating 1000 - 1200 calories a day, this is a struggle. I almost prefer being hungry! Does it get easier? And yes, I feel lame complaining…

Awesome!

I have never used one, but I'd love to! Many people talk about the benefits of working out with one. For sure - if you have access to one - use it! Start with no weight, push it 30 feet (or however long you have a path for). If you can do that, add a 45 pound plate. Push, repeat.

Don't pay attention to scale numbers. Do you have visible fat to lose? Are you satisfied with how you look? Use scale weight as a way to check progress.
