  • Austin.... I moved all over the country growing up - northeast, northwest, south, north, and in the middle of the country. Austin is now where I CHOOSE to live. Hope we never leave.
  • I can relate to this one a bit (not the mom part - I had a great mom), but when I was in 5th grade they marched all of the kids thru the nurses office to me weighed. Most of the 5th graders weighed in the 70s. The nurse made a huge deal about moving the weigh bar to 100 on the scale and said very loudly to the person…
  • I could eat Chinese Hot & Sour soup or just about anything Tex-Mex any time of day or night. Keep in mind I live in Texas where there is really good Tex-Mex. Can't find true Tex-Mex anywhere else - believe me I have tried! I also could eat cheese anytime.
  • Relax and leave it. If you are truely making a lifestyle change and not just on a crash diet - RELAX. Enjoy your weekend.
  • this has been so much more successful for me than weight watchers.
  • I have two favorites. During the week I toast a whole wheat english muffin with cream cheese, smoked salmon, and a little dill. I make it into a sandwich and take it in the car with me. I often grab a banana too. Or I throw peanut butter on the english muffin. On weekend I do scrambled eggs (whole eggs, I don't believe in…
  • AT 18 it's easy to think it shouldn't matter. But it does. When someone is looking for a life partner and father for their future children, it matters. That's not to say it's hopeless. I agree with the person who said 1. get a job NOW 2. Move our of your parents house NOW 3. Start giving a damn. I tell my 20 year old son,…
  • I'M 5'7" (67"). My goal is the 33" waist. I will be thrilled when I get there.
  • Love it. thank you for reminding us what we need to do every day!
  • I personally think snacking is very important. I eat every 3 hours. I bring snacks to work with me and always have something in my purse. It's not the snacking that's getting you, it's what you are snacking on. I bring sliced apples, walnuts, string cheese, Extend Bars. If you are eating foods that satisfy you at…
  • If you make your food diary public we can see what you are eating to help make suggestions. I have found that it is important to eat the right food, not just less of what you've been eating. Stick with it. You'll do great!
  • Strong believer in fruit. One of the best food out there. I have an apple and a banana every day and often have berries too. Just space it out thru your day for even sugar. Has not stopped me from losing.
  • Thanks for making me laugh this morning. WIth a sick husband and two fighting children, I needed a little chuckle!
  • Reminds me of my husband after I was on bedrest for 3.5 months while pregnant with our now 10 year old son. My mom came every day to help, but somehow it was so tramatic for him that he had to go out and buy a $1500 guitar to make himself feel better! I'm the one who had my mom sitting in a chair next to my bed staring at…
  • What's working for me: 1. I log everything before I eat it, makes me think about if I realy need the calories 2. I cut way back on processed sugar - I read labels like crazy and try to avoid anything with a lotof sugart. I don't miss sugar at all and don't get sugar crashes anymore. The only sugar I eat comes from fruit. I…
  • I agree you've got to want it. If you just have to have a sweet in the evening, find something a little better for you like a dark chocolate hershey's kiss. Have ONE after dinner every night as your signal to yourself that you are done for the day. Throw all that other crap out - you don't ever need an Oreo - even when you…
  • i would go for steak too!
  • i count tea, but not coffee. I drink a bottle of zero calorie SoBe water - almost 3 cups right there. It's really good. I also throw in a glass or two of sparkling water with fresh lime for a change.
  • Gotta eat way more. Your body may be in starvation mode and is holding on to the extra fat. Eat those 1000 calories you are burning and you will start losing again. Just make sure you eat the right things.
  • You may not be eating enough with all of the exercise you are doing. Your body may think you are starving. Increase calories (with the right food) and you may see results.
  • We ate in several restaurants over the last four days while on vacation. I was amazed at how many restaurant meals were already in the tracker. That may only apply to US chain restaurants, but it was nice to have. Jean
  • You are within your calories but not necessarily eating food that is good for you. Personally I only eat whole grains now - it has made a huge difference for me. More filling. My typical breakfast is a 100 percent whole grain English muffin with scrambled eggs or smoked salmon. Whole grains and protein. I cook everything…
  • This cracked me up! I don't think my hubby would like the new exciting love affair (unless he can watch...lol). No frustration on the social side. I'll stick with my interpretation...lol. Thanks!
  • I'm with you. Plus if I have a glass of wine, I'm more likely to eat more. Easier to just stay away from it.
  • You can give up and stay the way you are (or potentially gain) or you can stick with a healthier lifestyle and eventually get where you want to be. It doesn't matter if it takes 2 months, 6 months, or a year....at least you get where you want to be. Those of use who have lost initial weight quickly did so because we have a…
  • Just do it. A few days of binge helps you remember why you don't want to eat that way. Jean
  • The key is changing eating habits for good even if it means slowing your loss. I've lost 50-60 pounds several times. It always comes back and more when go back to normal eating. This time I think I am doing it right. I never feel deprived, I am always satisfied, and I enjoy EVERYTHING I put in my mouth. I am watching…
  • only what i've lost. I hope he never knows. I have to keep some secrets.....
  • Working mom with three boys. I'll send you a friend request. Jean
  • I've been doing pretty well on weekends. I don't eat "diet food". I eat real, healthy food every day that fills me up. Lots of whole grains, protein, fruit, and veggies. The weekends are no different. If you are starving yourself during the week and eating typical diet food you will find yourself binging on the weekends.
