I run into the same issues as well with the sugar intake. It seems like everything has hidden sugar in it! I notice a huge difference in how I feel when I consume less sugar, no glucose swings so I feel better mood & energy wise. I've stopping drinking smoothies because they are all sugar and no fiber (helps regulate how…

Yes, same here today. I'm attributing it to the wicked cold that has gripped this area the last couple of days. My body would like some extra fat to keep me warm. Hehehehe. :p

Have fun! Smile for the cameras! Pace yourself so you don't run out of steam too early on.

Have you lost 20% or more of your starting body weight? -- 24% GONE and counting Are you working to make the lifestyle change stick? -- That's the plan. Do you log every day (or just about)? -- Coming up on my 1 year of logging every single day :drinker: Do you exercise 4 or more days a week? -- More like 6-7 Does having…

I can't stand to wear a t shirt when I am working out, it's too restrictive and just not comfortable.

I have the exact same issue with my hips when I run, also assumed that it was weak glutes but I've come to the realization that it's more due to my tight hips and tight hamstrings (compliments of my desk job). I have been trying to stretch a ton before doing any running and it does seem to help.

No ridiculous dress code (looking at you PF :noway: ) Dislikes: No family style indoor pool (just has a typical lap pool) No indoor track (because it's too damn hot to run outside and running on a treadmill is…

That's the plan once I am pain free! I am almost sure my issue is bio-mechanical in nature, I'm hoping to get a full gait analysis done to get better insight into what is going on. I've had other injuries from running and changed shoes, that seemed to fix those issues but now it seems I've just run into others. I'm not…

I'm in the same boat! I have been having some persistent shin pain (I fear it's a stress fracture), so I'm also taking a step back from running for a couple of weeks. You should probably start by visiting a Dr and have them take a look at that before continuing to exercise. As for a good non-running cardio workout go…

I've done spin & zumba classes with overweight instructors in the past and have not ever really felt like I got a good workout with those instructors vs the more fit instructors.

Bump! Looking to get the jawbone up24, but still debating....

First and foremost...rest! Do not run with shin splints, you will be putting yourself at risk for stress fractures. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation to start. I would also suggest having someone do a gait assessment on you to find any underlying errors that may be causing you to have shin splints (i.e. over-striding,…
