I love this in theory, and would definitely be thrilled if this happened to me, HOWEVER, I am already eating at my proposed cut. Current TDEE-15% is 2145. So should I cut to -20% in a few weeks? This is the issue. I never did a full reset because I was fairly stable for the first few weeks of EMTWL. It does feel like this…

Are you experiencing something similar?
-
wait, what? you haven't lost weight or inches yet things fit differently? mysterious! but that's still great. maybe it's the places you are measuring. two strange side effects of losing a bit of weight for me are-a) my skirts and pants are longer b) some of my shoes are loose. good call on the water. i have been trying to…

Core Barre and my Tracy Anderson workouts do have a lot of ab exercises. Not to sound kooky or simplistic, but is it possible that with more workouts the fat is being pushed out, even just temporarily? Sometimes when doing a lot of legcentric workouts, I do feel that my legs feel stockier, or that the squishy part is more…

so interesting! i think it started a bit since last week, which is when I started going to Core Fusion Barre classes--Small weight lifting section in the beginning, but the leg work in the class is really hardcore! After three classes I see a difference in my legs--something I thought was impossible. the body is a…

anyone else have any input? i have read the stickies a bajillion times. Is it possible to see a couple of stages of bloat? It's very interesting timing as just last night I was still 500 cals to daily goal and for the first time EVER i didn't know how i was going to do it. yeah, could be heat, but it could also be that I…

so full fat helped? wow. that I can get behind! i just realized it's also really hot here today, and even though i am in an air conditioned office, I spent the first 4 hours in the elements. The hot and steamy elements.

I think that is a fair question-I bulk up really fast as well, so I get where you are coming from. I want my shirts to fit! what fiveohmike said!
-
THIS! I also want to lose 25 pounds ONCE, not over and over and over again. Just try not to gloat when you see her in 6 months and she is back in her big pants and you are rockin' Daisy Dukes.

quite true!

Don't forget that anxiety about increasing calories is a very VERY common side effect. That should be one of the key features in "What to expect in the beginning". You chug along eating more healthy food, and then WHAMMO, you realize that it seems contrary to everything we have ever been taught about losing weight.…

perfect timing! I just started week 6 of my reset with cut, and was starting to despair a bit. i still don't know what i do after 8 weeks, but i guess we shall see! you are right--it takes time. thanks!
-
I have gained about 7, but I am not doing a full reset, I am at TDEE-15%--I am now entering week 6

I have been researching the FitBit a bit, too. One thing I do wonder is how does it monitor mat workouts? i have heard that it only really monitors steps. Do you have any experience with this? Great work! 1200 cals a day suuuuuuuuuuuuucks...

thank you! i actually found this Dr. Seuss book all filled out in the park--dated 1973! I loved this page.

you make a fine point. i must say that i feel a lot stronger of late, and the squishy feeling is starting to subside. i also just remembered (funny how memory works) that when i first started calorie restriction it took several weeks to see any change at all. maybe i am just a slow reactor. thank you- you are totally right…

thanks, Saelina. i have read that thread, and a number of stickies, multiple times. i guess what i am not clear on is the "how will i know this is right" when it seems like the mark of progress is a shift in weight or shape. i know i am only 5 weeks in, and i fully recognize that maybe i am just panicking and need to give…

ok- stats- 196 (was 190 5 weeks ago..not bitter, not bitter) 5'6 39 yo a full reset would be quite a mental challenge, and sometimes i wonder about the logic of increasing, gaining, then doing a cut only to lose what was gained in the first place...it seems a little redundant in a way to lose the same weight that was just…

Wow, really great question. I have been doing the same with alcohol. I guess if I considered it over, then maybe I wouldn't drink as much, too? But I have been doing EMTWL for a month now, with only a gain, so perhaps this is messing me up (yo).

HAHA! Yes, no more food haikus!

In the summer I am a fan of vanilla vodka soda with a wedge of lime, or the good old fashioned white wine spritzer. It's not as caloric as a full glass, definitely more refreshing, and I like to think that it is hydrating, as well.

I was really shocked and not so awed when I realized what a real portion was. Like, sure, yeah, I only eat veggie lasagna, but really I was eating about 3 portions worth. Same with pretty much everything, especially cheese. stupid delicious cheese...

I should note that I lost about 16 lbs in the first four months--NOT following her hummingbird diet plan, mind you. And I rarely do her dance cardio, but add in my own.
-
WOW! you just touched upon something that I was not really noticing--the eye circles. I have serious dark circles, and I am not going to say they are gone, but they are fainter than usual. Wonderful feedback to hear, too. I just realzed I have only been doing the TDEE -15% cut for a month--here I am thinking oh yeah, I…

I am doing TA Continuity- Start Day 171 tomorrow (!!!) My results have been good, though my stats remain somewhat the same, I am definitely a lot stronger. I took my first Core Fusion class today, and I attribute my being able to keep up to Tracy.

I am by no means an expert, but one thing I am is very sensitive to the amount sodium in my diet. I tend to eat a lot of Asian food, and will just guess that once I have it, I will gain 5lbs over night with all the water retention. I would recommend watching sodium for a spell, drinking more water, eating more leafy greens…

that's just it--they can't bite you as they are strict 1200 and below diets.

Thanks for the feedback! My goal is to increase tone and muscle mass so I burn more cals.-the primary goal is definitely for appearance. I don't want to be ripped, but I would like to be able to discern between my upper arm or my calf. A more defined shape would be nice. I will check out Cathe soon. Thanks again. So many…

HA! yeah, my profile pic is of a mini celebrity from the Toddlers and Tiaras circuit. I am very well aware that I need to update it, but I am cautious as the internets make me nervous sometimes. thanks for that awesome input! i am def. going to check it out.

There was definitely a bit of a learning curve with TA, but I really like it. May I ask more about ChaLean--Do you just need one set of adjustable weights? I guess I should try it out, but switching programs involves spending some cash.
