I chew mint sugar-free gum when I'm cooking -- TOTALLY keeps me from snacking! You sound so much like me, I do the exact same thing with snacks. I know I'm not hungry but if it's there.... well.... LOL! I highly recommend chewing gum (or a small mint). Or brush your teeth before cooking. For me, anything minty makes me not…

Honestly, I have no idea. I've never done it. My guess is that it's more mental than anything LOL

My doctor suggests a simple 24 hour fast, drinking nothing but water. It's extremely safe since we can go many days without food as long as we stay hydrated, and it's as effective as anything you'd pay money for.

This is pretty much word-for-word what I was going to say, haha! I love pre-logging my meals on work days because then I know at the end of the work day, how many calories I have left for dinner. And I REALLY love the bar code scanner.

I don't hate the gym myself - I love it! But I know a LOT of women who hate it because they spend so much time comparing themselves to other women. And like someone else said, I'd always heard the machines were inaccurate and the HRM's were the most accurate if the data is entered accurately. My problem with picking a source for calorie burns for a month is…

I view weight like debt: once you get your debt paid off, does that mean it's time to stop budgeting and logging your money? Nope. Gotta keep on keeping on. So when I get my weight off, I absolutely plan to continue logging for as long as I'm able, because every time I stop logging my food, my weight creeps up & up & up,…

I LOVE LOVE LOVE kettlebell workouts!! In fact, I'm doing a kettlebell class at the gym this afternoon. A kettlebell is so versatile, you can do many, many exercises with it -- full body workouts. They come in a huge variety of weights so you can pick one that's most comfortable for you (I usually go 10-15 pounds for my…
