I do eat white bread and drink whole milk every day. That food isn't going to be the difference between losing and gaining weight. It's going to be the rest of your diary that will decide that. Which is my point above..... it just takes a little effort but eating healthy is cheaper overall. I'm also 6 foot, 78kg (171lbs)…

It is simply not cheaper to eat unhealthy food. Any reasonable person would just buy the cheaper version of those products, as the variation in nutrition is minimal and not worth the price differential. What should be compared instead is the price and nutritional value of a meal made from scratch versus…

That's just nuts. I'm so glad we don't have a paranoid gun culture in my country. All semi-automatic and automatic weapons are banned and you cannot carry a concealed weapon of any kind. There might, just might, be a link between that and the fact that our gun murder rate is 10 times lower than the US.

Hey, good on you for wanting to take up cycling. So you're going offroad yeah? My advice would be to go buy yourself a second hand mountain bike and then see whether you like riding. If you get hooked, your first bike won't be your last and you can upgrade to something nice without having spent a fortune upfront. Most…

Definitely do it, spinning is for everyone. The difference between a dead beginner and an experienced campaigner will be the resistance on the bike. Your legs will all be moving at the same speed but everyone will have different levels of resistance on the bike to maintain that leg speed. Take the first few sessions at…

"You're looking skinny, you need to eat more" Then they watch me eat. and eat. and eat. "You're always eating. How can you eat so much? I wish I had your body type" It's not my body type. It's because I'm not a couch potato and I actually get out and do some exercise.

I'd suggest you get a personal trainer to develop a program for you, or at least demonstrate safe, effective movement. Bodybuilding.com is a great resource and so too is Strength Training Anatomy by Frederic Delavier. Good luck and lift heavy!

Walking at that level of incline isn't going to build muscle, it's going to burn fat! Plus you're not going to build muscle if you have a calorie deficit, so I wouldn't be worried about that. Try calf raises if you're keen to work on the shape of that area :)

^^ Absolutely spot on. Your metabolism has slowed to a crawl with that input-output equation Set your loss goal to 1lb per week, log all your exercise and eat all your cals! My guess is that you should be eating > 2000 cals per day, and this will put you on the right path to losing that weight. Your body is nothing more…

Protein shake with water, and a nice feed of carbs to spike the insulin levels which will help deliver the protein straight into the muscles. Don't have protein with milk EVER, it takes too long to break down the complex proteins in the milk and it uses the protein in the powder as an energy source to complete this…

Check out eastbay.com for big backpacks with padded laptop sleeves. You can throw your books and stuff in the sleeve, and your gym gear in the main bit. I got a Jordan one about 18 months ago from eastbay and it's served me well.
