This is hard. You go into it thinking it's going to be hard, but it's harder than you ever thought. By orders of magnitude. And success is sneaky. It builds up by tiny grains. It takes forever, but then you realize you're standing on a mountain of success. And that feels amazing.

I second the "trust the program" comment! I ran 5k for the first time today after doing the program. I can't believe 8 weeks ago I felt like running for a minute was going to kill me!

This is my gym! It's got everything you could want and there are lots of big lifters around. It got SIGNIFICANTLY busier after Jan 1, but is starting to calm down a bit. Lots of people around whenever I go (and not enough lockers!).

In the summer I hang glide! Lugging the glider across the field is the greatest cardio ever, and holy geez were my arms and shoulders ripped at the end of the season!

I have also lost a ton of hair during this process. Aggravating, but it's just something that happens when your body goes through a big change in a relatively short period of time.

Today I was eating lunch with a (very blunt) coworker and we were talking about baking (one of my great loves!). I do bake a lot, and she said "It's amazing that you're not obese." Now this is not true, but it made me feel great that she didn't view me as obese! Win!

Bill Bryson wrote an amazing book about hiking that trail (A Walk in the Woods). It's an excellent read!

My good friends have just started saying things, after about 80lbs. People at work said things sooner. I have trouble knowing how to deal with their comments, so that not a lot of people had said anything didn't actually bother me much! I think it just needs to reach a critical mass (haha), then the comments will come in…

I would do the Shred first. I finished the Shred, then started RI30, and I found RI30 more difficult than the Shred. Either one will definitely kick your butt!
