  • Yes- just found out there is a gym that is open near me- not my regular gym but that is ok- as long as I can work out :)
  • You need to talk to him- and share your concerns. Obviously he associates food with fun, and so do you. Blaming someone for your choices will give you zero results. You can talk to him, ask if he prefers to keep you overweight, and you feel he is contributing to your overall weight gain. My son in law is like this- he eats…
  • Week 4 Goal : 6000 Mon: calories burned (how they were burned) Tues: calories burned (how they were burned) Wed: calories burned (how they were burned) Thur: calories burned (how they were burned) Fri: calories burned (how they were burned) Sat: calories burned (how they were burned) Sun: calories burned (how they were…
  • This has been my week three- taking the goal up for next week to 6000
  • what is "road map"??? Anyone have a link?
  • Just eat your breakfast a little later when your stomach is ready. Grill some steak if that is what you like- and have it sliced ready to go. Are you lactose intolerant or just highly restrictive with your diet?
  • Most likely it is something with your diet. It was for me- I'd work out like crazy- and still do, but not eat right- or record the calories eaten correctly. Can you open your diary so we can see and be able to help better?
  • You are 10 lbs away from your maintenance weight. That in itself is awesome! You may be pushing your body too hard. Why is 115-120 the magical # of success for you? I am sure you look fantastic, and if you are working out that much- you probably have more muscle definition that you did when you weighed in at these lower…
  • I will agree to not drink soda or eat SPAM!
  • Yes to the soda- thats easy for me - I don't really like it anyway. No to the candy. I have some maybe 2-3 X a week in very small portions- but when I want it, I want it. And I have it :)
  • jerky! Thats a good one- you can find some really good ones out there :)
  • SPAM scares me to death- I don't think its food so maybe off topic
  • This thread has been highly entertaining-lol!!! Nothing anyone eats is an irritation to me- people like what they like. Doesn't mean I'll try it. Original OP- I am from New Mexico- land of Hatch chili- and its a food group all its own- and very versatile. Throw green chili chopped into fetticini alfredo- or on top of a…
  • I am glad to hear about Dukan- I looked into it last week- but way too expensive for me right now. Snacks would be tough if its both low carb and low fat. I would probably have some of my favorites since its vacation and keep up working out during the time. I find any program that says certain foods are not ever to be had…
  • Your before and after pictures show quite a transition! That in itself is something great! I think the person you need to talk to about this is your husband. Pick the right time, and ask him the questions. Then you will have a starting point. But no, you are not "still the fat girl"- that girl weighed 60 lbs more. If you…
  • LOL your post made me think of that Stop the Insanity infomercial- where the lady Susan Powter talks about her thighs not rubbing together for the first time in how many years- it was absolutely hilarious! I always think of that scene when I get irritated at my thighs- maybe someday- and maybe not
  • For many reasons, I do not shop at Walmart. Always low quality, bad business- always! I do not save when I shop there. You save on their store brand of packaged foods, which is primarily their customer base. They do not cater to better health. I buy almost all my salad stuff (and I eat salads every day) at Costco. 6 pack…
  • Weekly Goal: 5200 Mon: 163 30 minutes teaching Zumbatomic, 991 walk/run intervals on treadmill- 1 hour Tues:575 Zumba (teaching) 50 minutes Wed: 1536 Aqua Zumba (teaching) 2 classes-55 min each Thur: 768 Aqua Zumba (teaching) 55 minutes Fri: calories burned (how they were burned) Sat: calories burned (how they were burned)…
  • No gym is going to fire anyone immediately unless they have proof of misconduct. To accuse someone of harrassment is a big deal- they will have to investigate it. Not in a big gym, or a corporate run chain of gyms. There will be an investagation, and even then a possible write up. I'd report it, the guy will get the…
  • I went back to my lower carb (and leaner low carb) lifestyle- within a week my cravings were gone. I never think about bread unless I am at Costco and that nice lady has samples with butter- so I have it- yeah that was good- then move on. But when my diet is high in processed foods, especially non nutrious carbs- I am…
  • You will take it and learn from it. If it were me, I'd figure in the calories into the week for additional workout time to be on the safe side.
  • some great programs out there- including couch to 5k- this one is from runners world magazine and I just started a similar program- going great so far http://www.runnersworld.com/beginners/8-week-beginners-program?page
  • I also teach fitness- I am a Zumba instructor- often I have more work than I can handle - and its so much fun- I forget I am getting paid until I see an extra deposit in my bank account-lol! :) And I decided to get licensed to teach because I wanted no excuses to not work out- who knew I'd be whopping butt and getting paid!
  • Love the salad idea!!! Thx!
  • When I cook- half of what I make in meals goes into to go containers- so I don't have to think about it. If your office has a fridge (that won't get raided) you can keep staples there for salads or snacks.

  • I have gone to many- I love it, the energy is amazing- so are the workouts- but, careful if you have any previous injuries- I have a bad knee and couldn't take all the lunges. I still take the class when I can because its a killer workout! :)
  • This is so true!!! Everyone is different, every body is different, and there is a lot of unprofessional advice being dispersed on the forum. Often with well meant intentions- but bad nonetheless. I can't tell you what you should do, but I can tell you what has worked for me. Knowledge. Knowledge of your body and what it…
