I do the chia seeds and coconut milk also with spinach, grapes, oranges, pears and bananas. Think I'll try yours to eliminate some of the sugar. Sounds great!

I love fruit and have the same problem. Fruit is so good for you but it can be high in sugar. Try to stick with berries, kiwi, and granny smith apples if you find it trails back to fruit intake. Good luck... even good sugar can sometimes sabotage weight loss

Can't wait to try!

I used to be a splenda junkie until I read that when consumed the liver just really didn't know what to do with it. My liver has enough to do so I decided to switch to stevia. It is a flavor worth getting used to. And it comes in handy little bottles of liquid with droppers. My favorite flavors are vanilla creme and…

I just knew it was possible for 50 year old women to look this good. It is what I aspire to. Recovering from surgery to repair fractured patella but before that threw a kink in things I was doing strength training. Just not enough. Your pictures have proved to me I need more dedication, Swimming most days now to gain back…

One of the first things I did after joining MFP was create my recipe for my cappachino cause I knew I would be drinking one daily. Keurig and a milk frother sprinkled with cocao or cinnamon. Yummy...makes me wanna get outta bed in the mornings!

This is a tough one for me too. I try to read something motivational to get my thinking headed in the other direction. Just go to bed and know that when I wake up the scales are going to make it all worth it. This does not always work but for the most part I just try to remember my goals. Skinny jeans, skinny jeans, skinny…

Sounds like you are off to a good start with the portion control and exercising. With that much weight to lose bumping up the exercise sessions will show good results and train some good habits. MFP is great for making you accountable for your calorie intake. Educate yourself on nutrition and enjoy eating fresh foods,…

There are 4 calories for every gram of carbs, 4 calories for every gram of protein, and 9 calories for every gram of fat. so it would have to have 6 calories if there are 1.5 grams of carbs. So for them to say it is calorie free is misleading. I have heard it is a good natural sweetener although i am a stevia fan also.

I'm no help either. Sold on my vitamix It is the one machine in my kitchen that gets used more than the coffee maker. I realize an investment but if you are serious about clean eating this thing makes smoothies the consistency of silk. Like going to smoothie king or one of those other expensive smoothie places. I make my…

ditch the apple....they have pectin which makes things thick and ichy. I put in 1/2 pear instead, green frozen grapes, 1/2 orange, 1/2 banana (also frozen) and a handful of spinach. It is a Dr. Oz recipe as well but it is a beautiful lime green color and taste sweet and delicious. Add 1 tsp of chia seeds they are filling.

Poor Paula Dean.. Some diseases run in the family and therefore genes play an important role. My grandmother (from the south) fried all kind of things, eggplant, okra, green tomatoes, potatoes... you name it. Thing is she grew it all!! No preservatives or additives. She also ate these fruits and veggies fresh. Not saying…

Sweet potatoes are pretty loaded with potassium. Not to mention everything else. I once heard that sweet potatoes were the highest nutrient packed food per once found in the produce section!!!

Thank you Jane, I feel your pain. I will be saying a little prayer for your full recovery. People just take that ole knee for granted until you can't use it. It has certainly taught me perserverance!!

Roast about 6 roma tomatos, 1-2 bell peppers (red, orange are best), 3 cloves of garlic, 2 carrots, 1/2 small red onion coat with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt and pepper 400 degrees until veg start to brown Throw in a blender with fresh basil leaves (about 3 large) and a slice of cheese (I use any italian cheese,…

i have tried many blenders in the past with less than desirable results. I saved up my money and bought a Vita mix. It is large but I use it everyday. It makes the smoothest, creamiest smoothies I have ever had. I also use it to make fresh roasted tomato basil soup, mayonaise or anything else. Comes with an awesome…

i have a 15 year old and it is difficult when Mom decides on reasonable and child decides on "what looks cool". Maybe after he has to wear the lost and found coat he will discover his coat is not so bad after all! Way to go for sticking to your best instincts Mom!

Hey Rachel. Sounds like you are changing some bad habits into good habits. That is a great start. Since you are young and social you are in situations that test you. Just take it one day at a time girl!

as far as eating after a certain time at night I'm sure you could google that and find many facts. Calories are calories but it is the late evening or night carbs that hurt you because they contain sugar and cause an insulin surge. That takes a little explaining as to how that effects the results you see on the scale the…
