  • I usually use whole wheat/whole grain toast or use a low-carb whole wheat tortilla. Im trying to cut back on gluten right now though, so now I make an "Eggs n' Oats" bowl -- 1/4 Cup of oatmeal, 2 eggs, and a scoop of pico de gallo with some seasonings
  • Self-motivated. My family tends to put too much emphasis on "being skinny", so I guess you can say they support me, but it's the wrong kind of support lol.
  • 1. Keeping track - those little snacks you don't feel like adding really do amount to a big number! 2. Keeping the right foods in the house, and more importantly, keeping the bad foods out. 3. Dedication. You can't half-*kitten* weightloss or you'll take years to get it off. 4. Setting small goals instead of going in with…
  • I didn't want to do the whole "eat whatever you want" route because when I eat whatever I want, I eat a lot of it.. I opted for the healthy lifestyle switch, which I STRONGLY recommend! It'll get you healthy and FIT, not just skinny. And it will KEEP you fit! Have your "want" meals once a week, but stick to the good,…
  • I sometimes will ADD an extra 100 calories to a meal if I know I didn't log everything or snacked on a few things, didnt add the tomatoes in a salad, had a sip of coke, or silly things like that. Just add on a "buffer" number of calories if you feel that you didn't log everything or you need it to visualize how much you…
  • I started my weight loss at 187 lbs. I was the the heaviest I ever was. I remember thinking that reaching 135 lbs was just a dream and something I would never be able to grasp. I lost the first 20 and got to 165 and plateaued. I was distraught and kept thinking "this is so little and took so much effort!" Then I lost 5 lbs…
  • Good job starting up again! I think the first step in a weight loss journey is just supplying yourself with the proper foods! It's even better if you get rid of all the junk already in your house - I don't even keep things like cookies, chips, etc.. in my apartment. If it's there, I'll want it. So I just stock up on…

  • My waist/stomach looks similar to yours in your early March photo, and I would be ecstatic if I could have your stomach now by mid summer haha! What exactly did you do? Just watched what you ate? Or did you do any special form of exercise?
  • I had the same problem. Im a grazer, I like to snack on things throughout the day. I hardly go 4 hours without munching on something. I eat around 1500 calories a day, so I break my meals up so I eat about 6 times a day. 200 breakfast, 200 snack, 300 lunch, 200 snack, 300 dinner, 200 snack.. it varies, but you get the…
  • I was eating around 1000-1200 calories a day and bumped it up to around 1500 over the course of two weeks. I guess the gradual incline in calories helped me not gain any weight, and I started losing after about a week and a half / two weeks..
  • I can only think of Georgie Henley. We both "blossomed" as they say around the same time too haha
  • Nice lookin' meal you got there :)
  • Are you sure you are getting enough calories? When I upped my fitness activity, I was sluggish and tired a few weeks later and needed to increase my calories. It was like a rebirth. Im going through the same thing again, but my fitness routine hasn't changed much. So Im in the process of upping calories again.
  • I have the opposite problem - Ever since I started to "diet" and lose weight, my period has been more unpredictable than me when Im on my period haha. It used to be heavy and last for a week, now it's light and lasts for 3 days, IF it even happens.. I still haven't had my March "visitor".. Im not really complaining though.
  • I've been eating healthy for over a year now, super healthy for a few months, and I've been a very irritable person since the beginning. I go through my stages of happiness and super-niceness about once a month, but besides that, I dont know whether it's dieting or depression (which I've always struggled with..) but I get…
  • Looks like my bio teacher lol.. nice "stubble" though!
  • I feel like I get enough vitamin B, but my hair does seem to love to fall out in the shower and I havent had a good-nights rest in probably weeks! Thanks for the tip, Ill have to try it out!
  • I've never been so inspired to go work out in my life. I might seriously bookmark this thread and look at it before I work out because I've been feeling extra sluggish heading to the gym lately. And I have to agree, even though your body changed tremendously, what speaks the loudest is your expression in the pictures --…
  • Get a food scale. Cost me $25 at target, but it's my new best friend. I use it ALL the time and I love it!
  • It's just eating the right foods. If you can, eat fresh foods, cook them all yourself, etc.. Focus on increasing the amount of protein you eat. Chicken, fish, eggs, lean meats and the like. Try to cut back on what contains sugar and sodium. Sugar and sodium are often found in processed foods, so avoid those. Fruits and…
  • Best: "Oh my God, look at those legs!" Best #2: "Did you lose weight? You look so good, I almost didn't recognize you!" Worst: "You're getting too obsessed with your weight" Worst #2: "Your body is where it wants to be, you're never going to be small like your mother.." (that was 30 lbs ago. Hah!)
  • Thanks for all the replies, guys! From the bulk of everyone's answers, I should just keep doing what Im doing, or possibly focus on lifting more. I measured myself and plugged it into the Body Fat calculator on fat2fitradio.com and it said my BF was 28%. I would like to be at around 20% so that's why I mentioned 10% body…
  • Leaving things on my plate was actually kind of hard to get over. I dont like wasting food, and so it took time for me to learn what portions are filling so I don't overload my plate and feel like I need to finish it all.
  • A little more info would be nice, like your weight, how tall you are, BMR, TDEE, etc.. anything else you can give. Otherwise try a) increasing your deficit if your BMR allows.. b) changing your workout routine (body gets used to it)..
  • I go online clothes shopping, because 9 times out of 10, I end up getting more distracted by how the clothes look on the model than the actual clothes, and I find myself thinking "I wish my clothes fit so nicely on me.." and then I get inspired to go jogging or hit the gym. It's like drinking a cup of coffee, I just feel…
  • If you were planning to lose 5 lbs very soon by eating more, you didn't do enough research. Increasing your calories from what your metabolism is used to usually makes you gain a little in the first few weeks as your metabolism readjusts. Also If you're strength training, you could also be gaining weight because of your…
  • Height: 5'4" Age/Gender: 18/Female Highest weight: 187 lbs Current Weight: 129 lbs Lowest weight: 129 lbs Goal weight: Doesn't matter as long as my BF % is around 18-21% My original goal was 135 lbs. I succeeded and passed it :)
  • Same. Increased my calories by just a few hundred and a few days later I was hitting the gym like a brand new person.
  • This local health food store down my street sells Bluebonnet Dual Action Whey + Casein in a chocolate flavor as well as just a whey protein powder in a few flavors that isn't too bad. I like to shop local to help out the little businesses, and that's all they sell, and not a bad price either.
  • I find when I work out within 1-4 hours of waking up (ie. mornings) I get tired twice as quickly. I worked out this morning and was exhausted after an hour. I couldnt lift anymore. When I work out in the afternoon (around 1pm) or evenings (7-9pm), I can go on for two hours no problem. Evenings work best for me.
