  • Thank you for your post. I appreciate the fact that you place importance on making lifelong changes. I have just this week adjusted my exercise regimen from running 6 days a week, one hour each day plus 30 of calisthenics to running three days a week, calisthenics on the three days in between and Sunday for a rest day. I…
  • Nonfat yogurt is almost identical to cottage cheese and has lots of protein. It tastes GREAT!
  • I suggest fresh fruit as a dessert--grapes are especially yummy. You can also try plain nonfat yoghurt with some fruit or a small amount of brown sugar mixed in.
  • The WiFit scale shows that I gained 7.1 lbs from yesterday. I have had these weird fluctuations from one day to the next. It's hard to too, but try not to worry about it. Just stick to your eating and exercise plan, and the weight will come off quickly,
  • I really like the Wii Fit. My wife, AngelikaLumiere and I lost most of our weight (over 100 lbs each) over a one year span using the Wii Fit. Believe it or not, the hoola hoop is the send best calorie burning exercise on the Wii Fit, next to jogging/running. I also recommend that you do the daily body test and weigh…

  • Normally I would say yes. $75 is bit steep for a first dinner. I would say that if you expected the guy to pay, you shouldn't have given him any money. In any case, since this is important to you, I would say you should not go out with him again.
  • My Polar HRM works well. I recommend you get a footpod as well so that you can track your distance while running.
  • How long have you been using the EA Active 2? My wife got this awesome program for me on Christmas, and I started it on Dec 26th, and I'm almost through the 9 week program. Man, is it intense.
  • I agree. I enjoy the hula hoop as well--it's the best cardio activity on the WI Fit next to running. Also, you can do the running or step for between 10 and 30 minutes and change the channel to watch TV. The WI remote will guide you and announce the time. It's a great way to work out and watch TV at the same time!
  • I like the premier nutrition protein bars. They have around 290 calories per bar and are quite delicious. They also have a good amount of protein.
  • Get the WiFit Plus for the Nintendo Wi. It will be the best investment you ever make. The WiFit Plus will allow you to start your workouts out slowly and build up. It is how my wife (AngelikaLumiere) and I have lost 100 lbs apiece.
  • Salt will make you retain water, resulting in temporary weight gain. The suggestion to drink plenty of water to flush out your system is a good one--it will help you to lose weight in any case, and it's easy to do. After all, how hard is it to drink water? My wife has been drinking at least eight 8 oz glasses of water per…
  • It's great you've taken a step to make positive changes in your lifestyle. I am truly blessed that my wife, AngelikaLumiere (that's her username on Myfitnesspal, took the lead in eating better and exercising. It took me awhile to get on board. The effort is definitely worth it. Think of your new life as a new long term…
  • Man, you are an inspiration. You have obviously made great lifestyle changes. Congratulations!
  • I have lost over 100 pounds in approximately 8 months. The keys are daily exercise plus eating a healthy diet. I didn't have any surgery, and I don't eat any special foods.
  • I ran for 56 minutes today and did some sit ups and push ups.
  • Great to see you on board. If you remember that this is a long term process, you will do well. Congratulations on taking the first step--it is the hardest!!!
  • Swimming is great exercise, and it does not normally hurt your joints. My wife is a swimmer. if you are experiencing pain from running, perhaps you can try step aerobics or a hula hoop. The WiFit Plus is the way to go! There are tons of great exercises, and you don't even need a gym membership. For between $250 and $300,…
  • Great work!
  • Your calorie consumption is important as well. If you can try to eat healthy foods, it will help your weight loss.
  • I will do a short run and some WiFit exercises in the morning. Then I'll relax with my family the rest of the day.
  • That is great news. I'm glad your husband is on board with you. My wife and I have had a great time eating better and exercising. It isn't always easy, but the payoff is worth it.
  • My weight fluctuates some days in the same way. On Monday, I ran 6 miles, walked for 20 minutes, ate less than 1000 calories and drank 7 glasses of water. Nevertheless, I gained 1.8 pounds the next day. What my wife, AngelikaLumiere, says is true: if you keep doing the things you should be doing, the weight will come off.…
  • I agree that moderation is the key and that one day will not kill anyone. My wife and I are planning on having our turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day and our pie the following day. That way, we break up the calories, and we don't stuff ourselves. I must admit that there have been past years where I was not hungry but ate…
  • Have you done any walking or any type of exercise? Any movement should make the weight loss easier. Also, if you can find a buddy to walk with and do exercise, it makes it easier.
  • Congratulations--nice work!
  • I don't think it's cheating at all--particularly since your long term trend is toward significant weight loss.
  • I agree that a little bit won't hurt. My wife and I go to the French bakery/restaurant once a week as a reward for meeting our fitness goals. And even when we go there, that is our one main meal of the day--we eat salad and yoghurt for our other meals of the day.
  • I agree wholeheartedly with AngelikaLumiere. WiFit Plus is the way to go. I also recommend the Wi Game Wi Sports Resort. It has fun games that get you moving: golf, bowling, table tennis and more.
  • Don't worry about the past. The main thing is that you are back in the swing of things. Great job!
