  • I have been on message boards and the internet for over a decade and I have seen the lingo also. It just seems like such a useless comment to me.
  • I don't think it matters. Just need to watch out not to overwork the same muscles and it is recommended not to do weight training more than 2 or 3 times a week to give your body time to recover.
  • There are those walking shoes that have a little wedge and there are less expensive brands available than Sketchers I got mine at Walmart for about $40.00. I don't notice major soreness with walking less than an hour a day. I felt it the most when I wore them to an amusepark and was walking around for like 4 or 5 hrs.
  • I don't feel like any food is off limits, just do it in moderation. Starting last week I am letting myself have one day that I can eat some of my favorites and not feel guilty. I think it is fine, if I am following the program the other 6 days of the week and I am exercising 5-6 days a week.
  • I thought it was just my internet down!
  • I joined one about two weeks ago and really like it. It is a really good workout and I really sweat. I agree if you like music and dancing, you will enjoy it. No problem if you miss steps, you just keep moving. If you do not have a health club membership, there are other places that have classes--YMCA, church, community…
  • What a difference. Congrats!
  • I would recommend weighing in ar beginning of day before taking in foods and liquids which will fluctuate your weight. I weigh first thing in morning before eating breakfast or drinking anything.
  • I am 5'10' and would like to get down to 170 and go from there.
  • Not the typical pregnancy weight gain. I only gained about 15 lbs, but I had kidney stones and pain and had to get a nephrostomy tube in one of my kidneys the last trimester. I also went into labor 7 weeks early. Also I was overweight to begin with, so that might have had something to do with the small weight gain. My…
  • Amazing. Not many people have lost so much that they can fit in one pant leg of an old pair of pants. Great job, you are an inspiration to us all!!
  • I bought it once. It is supposed to be used and be under 800 or 500 calories a day. I could not eat so little and function normally. I would be weak, dizzy, and tired all the time. It tastes awful and I did not have any results. Do not waste your money.
  • I usually do one "reward meal" as I call it per week. I too, usually have pizza one meal on the weekend and I still try to get some exercise in. I figure if I eat well the rest of the week, I am ok and doesn't affect the scale much. I strongly believe if you sacrifice the foods you love, you will just end up going…
  • I use fat free plain or low fat vanilla yogurt, raspberries or strawberries, and sometimes add a banana to it. I also like to add 1 tbsp wheat germ or flax seeds.
  • I have had it for about 1 1/2 years. I wish I did not have to take a hormone replacement medication, but am afraid I will feel extremely exhausted and sluggish like when I first diagnosed. My weight loss seems to be a little slower, but nothing hugely dramatic. I am in my 30's, so don't think my metabolism is quite the…
  • Good going! I too am striving to lose a few more pounds to fit into my size 12 little black dress that has been hanging in my closet for the last 5 years!
  • I have the "Biggest Loser" scale by Taylor. Sold at local retailers. It seems to be very accurate and is very close to what I weigh at my Weight Watchers meetings and the dr. office. Put in your starting weight and you can track weight and percentage of fat loss also.
  • I have taken it before and did lose some weight. As others have mentioned, if you go over the fat grams per meal while on Alli, you will have an orangish oily leakage. If you keep your meals low in fat, you are usually ok.
  • lots of pizza!
  • I would not worry about it. Just don't use 1 bad slipup as an excuse to totally fall off the wagon. It isn't possible to continue to eat perfect 100% of the time. I think it is important to reward yourself once in while. You are less likely to feel deprived and not go crazy and totally overdo it when a craving for that…
  • I kind of had the same problem too. I would suggest eating your exercise calories. I have found in the last few days, that I wasn't eating nearly enough and once I pushed myself to eat more, I am having better numbers on the scale. Or try giving yourself 1 "eat what you want" meal per week to shake up your metabolism. Give…
  • I have read that you shouldn't strength train the same body part two days in a row. So give yourself a day to rest, like every other day or so. Good luck!
  • Fabulous job! You actually look like you have a waist now! You look wonderful!:smokin:
  • I do think it does help to splurge on a more fattening meal once in a while. It seems to challenge the body. I think the body gets used to a certain caloric intake. I have heard that in weight loss, you should give yourself at least one meal per week to eat what you want, some people even do a whole day of this, and still…
  • That must feel amazing. Good for you!!!
  • I agree with the person suggesting a thyroid check. I have a low thyroid and take a hormone replacement medication. I know that the thyroid can throw a lot of things out of whack, which can include weight gain or trouble losing weight. It looks like your mom is doing a lot of the right things as far as diet and fitness.
  • I love my "talking" pedometer from SportsLine. Bought at Walmart. It keeps track of steps, calories burned, distance, and total time. I make additional notes in the exercise diary. I generally walk more than 5 miles a day just at work. All those steps do add up. I do turn off the "talking" on the pedometer when at work,…
  • Oh, the benefits of having your own home fitness equipment, ha ha!
  • I went with my ideal weight of 180, which is 6 lbs over the top of my weight range according to bmi and my height. I think I will be satified with that, and would get me into probably a size 8/10. I am tall and will never be petite. My dr. agreed even said she be satified if I got to 190. I don't think you can always put…
  • Yes, it takes extra time to put what you eat in the food journal, but it brings results. The times where I slacked off and didn't journal my food, I gained that week. It is really easy to lie to yourself, and say you are not eating that much when you don't journal it. It comes down to holding yourself accountable for the…
