  • My "go-to" is an omelette: one egg, two egg whites. One whole tomato and one green pepper chopped, and 1/2 onion. One ounce of light cream cheese. I add fresh basil if I have it. Very filling, delicious, and very low-cal and fat. Yum!
  • And it turned your skin green!
  • Unfortunately, there may be no way around it. I was going to ask if you could switch your "free pastries" out with something healthier, but I think you're saying that you already got the pastries? If so, can you just have a bite or so and save the rest to nibble on over a longer period of time? I am not a sweets person, so…
  • Loved it!
  • You look so different-- I agree that the scale doesn't tell the whole story. Keep it up!
  • Oh, you made me gasp. First, let's be honest-- men tend to be very visual. And also let me say, good for you for getting your weight and health back on track, girl! That would shock me if my husband had said that to me. The reality is that stuff happens in life, and when you marry, you are saying that you are willing to be…
  • I'm so sorry about your grandmother. My guess would be that she would not want you to fall off the wagon over her. I know I wouldn't! For comfort food, what I like (and indulge in sometimes) is about 2/3 cup of instant mashed potatoes with a pat of butter (not a huge one!) on top. And a similar amount of canned corn…
  • Wow-- I'm vger, I think. I hesitated to write this because of how it might sound. But I was skinny growing up, and tall. If I accidentally skipped a meal, I lost weight. Therefore, I had to be careful to eat regularly to not lose weight. People called my hipbones "flagpoles" when I sunbathed. Flash forward. Because of a…
  • Aaaaaassssss.......yoooooouuuuuuuu....... wiiiiiiiiishhhhhhh!

  • I sure hope not! Love that stuff. And always patted myself on the back, thinking it was a healthy choice!
  • Hi! It is so challenging to lose the weight when you have little ones to take care of. Stay focused, and good luck! :-D
  • One thing that helps me at times is logging your day's food ahead of time, in the morning. That way you can adjust accordingly. And if you switch something out, no biggie, just change it on MFP. I found that at times I would have half my calories left by dinnertime, and on other days have almost nothing left. When I log…
  • I bought Target's cashew almond cranberry trail mix (in the ginormous container, natch). It's absolutely fabulous! One day, after snarfing them for a good long while, I logged them into MFP, and had pretty much blown my calories for the day!
  • Passive aggressive insecure fool, she is. What would really suck is to be as tiny as she is, and STILL feel insecure. Sheesh.
  • Sending you a friend invite! :-)
  • Sorry- the comment about the package gallery almost made tea come out my nose!
  • You almost made tea come out my nose! heehee
  • Lorrie, good for you for taking charge of this now. I have 50 to lose, myself. I have to admit, I'm not looking at this as a "diet". I've tried WW, etc., and they always had the feel of "if I stop counting points, I'm going to be as big as I was before". Now I'm counting calories, but I'm not crazed about it. I am trying…
  • That must have made your day! Good for you! :-)
  • That's so awesome! :-)
  • I'm pretty new myself, so I admit that I don't know the answer. My guess is that you can't log it "separately". Why don't you wait till the very end of the day to log your exercise, so that you don't see an inflated number of allotted calories?
  • Chips can do me in, too! I just can't have them in the house, honestly. So then I started on a brick of cheddar and crackers. Ugh. Anyway, what I'm doing is air popping pop corn. Very low cal, and seems to satisfy my salt/crunch craving. I usually avoid "fake" foods, but I do use that spray butter on it. I no longer use…
  • I'm in a similar place. Sedentary job, single parent of two youngsters, activities, household duties, etc. Sometimes it's hard for us to make ourselves a priority. I definitely experience that. You're on your way-- you have made some positive changes. But I know that, for me, a light bulb went on that I needed to start…
  • For me, look awesome at 140. Much below that, and people ask if I'm ill. Maybe my bones just weigh more than other people's, but I'm always mystified at models/actresses who are my (our) height, and weigh 110. I got down to 119 once (not on purpose), and seriously looked emaciated and awful. So my goal is 140. :-)
  • I have the exact same issue, and I hear it over and over-- you can't target one area or the other. I'm working on making a calorie deficit by diet and upping my movement. I must admit that, even though the scale isnt' showing it, my pants (which were tight on my tummy a month ago when I bought them) almost fell off when I…
  • It absolutely counts! What a wonderful victory-- dropping 2-3 sizes, girl!
  • Hi, Sheri- I breast fed, too, and didn't see the miraculous weight loss from it that many of my friends did. But I'm with your doctor-- 1800 calories is not a lot for an adult woman, especially one who is breast feeding. As I recall, I was eating a lot more than that. Can you increase your movement? Put the little one in a…
  • I'm like Miss Jamaica, but with coffee (and 1/2 and 1/2 and a teaspoon of sugar) instead of ice cream. For some reason, I do not want to log that. It's my little treat every day, and logging it makes it feel different somehow! I also don't log the spray 100% olive oil that I coat my pans with. I do log all veg and fruit,…
  • Love it! That's the type of NSV that will make your day. :-)
