^^^^ I did this, too! I went hiking one day, and was about 800 steps short of a new "record" (yes, it keeps your stats, and e-mails your progress!) of 20,000 steps in a day. So I marched around and around my house till I hit the number.

I LOVE mine. I feel naked if I forget it at home. Besides the pedometer, it counts how many flights of stairs you do per day, also. It has the sort of Wii technology that can tell where you are in space, or something. It's pretty accurate. And I LOVE the sleep feature. It counts how long it takes you to fall asleep, how…

 Oh, my gosh, you look AWESOME! I'm 5'9, and my goal weight is 140-150. But I will be thin/slender at that point. I have a friend who is probably 5'8" and she is 165, and looks terrific. She has no interest in going lower. She's healthy, curvy (and I don't mean curvy the way it's sometimes used-- I mean nice womanly…

I have seen people on here who have had awesome results! I tried it, and developed tendonitis for the first time ever, in my right knee. I see that a lot on mfp, with similar stories. I'm not totally sure I blame the shred, but enough people have had a similar experience to not at least consider it. My knee is almost back…

I did the first week of the shred, and for the first time in my life developed tendonitis in my right knee. I wouldn't swear it was the shred, since nothing seemed all that difficult. But I do read the same concerns over and over again. It's been weeks, and my knee is just now getting back to normal.

My dog NEVER overeats, and I free-feed her. She's svelte and healthy. It's my cat who will eat and eat till she explodes. I call her "my little goldfish". I no longer free-feed her for that reason.
-
My cat would be another "Meow" if I let her. She was a shelter kitty, and had been outside for weeks and weeks before brought to the shelter. I was new to cats, so my cat-lover friends told me to "free feed" her. I had one of those vacation feed things that releases food as needed. Well, within a month or so, she was…

I've read about political prisoners hunger striking like this, so you can survive it. But they often have HUGE health issues that come with it, like kidney or other organ shutdown, etc. :noway: I don't really buy that he's doing that just for "fun", but if he is, he's not too bright.

Noooo! Good for you for taking steps to get your health back on track. I'm a mom, too-- they need us to be around. You'll see all "types" on here-- hardbodied totally-in-shape people, as well as people who have a long way to go. But look around on here a bit-- I'm so inspired when I see people who have "181 lbs lost!" "202…

I think you already know the answer. There are many red flags in your message. I work with some students with eating disorders. It is, by far, the deadliest psychologiical disorder there is. A few of my friends have struggled in the past with a dianosed and treated eating disorder. It's tough, but treatable. I'm encouraged…

Nothing jumps out as being a reason. Have you talked to your doctor about it?

I drink about 1/2 and 1/2, water vs. iced tea. But I do drink decaffeinated. You may want to try that. :-) I do count my iced tea toward my water totals. Not sure if that's the "right" thing to do, but I do.

The Game, by Queen.

I totally get what you're saying. But there are people who take it "too far". I have a few friends with eating disorders (diagnosed and treated), and work with a few patients with eating disorders. It does raise a flag for me when someone who is obviously very lean says, "Oh, I just need to lose ten more pounds." It's not…

Believe it or not, there's a semen cookbook. If you do a search for it on amazon, it'll come up. Tosh.0 mentioned it (big shock! haha), and it does exist.

It will count those calories. I find it to be pretty accurate. I hear that other people find HRMs to be more accurate, but I do love my Fitbit. One small quibble I have is that, because it does NOT calculate heart rate, that it doesn't always take the intensity of a workout into consideration. It seems to calculate the…

Me, me, me! I have Frankenstein "staple" scars on my abdomen, too. It has presented some real challenges to getting back in shape, that's for sure. ((hugs)) I'll send a friend request-- maybe we can give each other a little support and encouragement.

I had big student loans. I paid them off. It was hard, and took years, but I had to forgo getting a nice house for a while, drove beater cars, etc. It would not have occurred to me to default on them. My belief is that you do not borrow money you can't or won't pay off. Period.

What ^^^ she said. I'm a single mom, too. It may be an honest goof on his part, but I don't like feeling like I am doing all the work in planning stuff like that. I'd see if he resurfaces, and go from there. Either way, have a great weekend!
-
If this was just a "once in a while" thing, I'd probably suggest nibbling at what they bought, etc. But since this is a weekly issue, I see no reason why you should feel obligated to join in with food that you wouldn't normally eat. There are tactful ways to handle it, but I think you shouldn't be made to feel bad if you…

I've seen a few guys on here (shirtless, thanks, guys!) who could give any model a run for his money. Your hard work has paid off, gents! :flowerforyou:

I don't use a HRM, but LOVE my fitbit. One negative I experienced this weekend. I took a long and strenuous hike up a mountain. Burned a boatload of calories, and it gave me credit for going up million flights of stairs. Probably pretty accurate. I was really sore the next day. Oddly, though, it did not give me credit for…

And I agree with the other posters that you probably don't need to worry about "starvation mode". I just find that I have to eat breakfast so early that I'm ravenous by about 9:30-10 am, and feel like I need something. Plus, my stomach growls embarrassingly. :-)

Now, I work with kids one-on-one, but I DO eat in front of them. I sometimes offer them some as well. I keep granola bars on hand, but some days I bring an orange or a cheese stick, or even green peppers. I don't go crazy about it and make a meal of it, but while the student is working on something, I will quietly eat a…

:flowerforyou: Wow! Great job! I appreciate people like you who post pictures. It's so inspiring-- I say to myself, "That can and will be me!" Congratulations on your engagement!

Count me in! It may help me pass the time while I'm waiting for the next season of The Walking Dead!

^^^ I like this better than my own answer. Although I'd give it to him in a personal check, not cash.

I had something similar happen to me with my mortgage. Basically, my mortgage got paid, but my account didn't get accessed. No idea (at first) where the money came from. I called both the bank and the mortgage company multiple times. I wasn't looking to steal anything. Both assured me that the books were correct. After…

I did something similar with a Wendy's chicken sandwich. Was shocked at the calorie count. I did some cardio, and still was over by 189 for the day, but it wasn't the end of the world. I know that if I can't occasionally splurge on something decadent (although next time I'll try a slice of tiramisu, or a high-end steak!…
