Thanks everyone! Hey, we're all human. We fall off the band wagon but the key is to not beat yourself up. Those 10 months I spent losing weight wasnt all peachy. There were weeks I gained weight even though I thought I did everything perfectly fine. Sometimes its water weight, who knows. But for the most part, the body…

Keep in mind that the numbers for calorie intake and exercise was given to me by my doctor so if you decide to go low calorie, etc speak to your doctor first. But it just made total sense to me when I saw the math and I was able to put numbers to activity based on my current weight and the calories on food. I shared in…

Thank you! Nope, thats a first :)

Hey, we all do! But they are just thoughts!!! Dont have to follow your thoughts, just get back to it :)

Congratulations! WOW!!!!!

I agree that everyone has individual goals and my earlier post was not meant to shove numbers down anyone's throats. It is a rule of thumb my physician gave me and from other medical journals I read. it is what I used and it worked for me as I can finally put numbers to food and exercise. When I get asked, "What's your…

Keep track of those calories!!! Women: multiply your goal weight by 10. Men: Multiply your goal weight by 11. This number will be your DAILY CALORIC INTAKE to MAINTAIN that GOAL WEIGHT. So, if I want to be 160lbs, 160 x 11 = 1760 calories per day. But I am targeting 1200 per day NET calories to get this rolling a little…

congrats everyone!

Thanks friends! No gym membership required! I went from doing nothing to getting my butt up and go for a decent stroll. When I was 278lbs, I told myself I'd be happy at 200lbs. Once I arrived to 198lbs, I said, well...why not 175? I chose 160lbs because I gave myself a buffer so when there are days I eat higher calorie…

YES! Just walking. I have a bad back and I am not runner so I hopped on the treadmill or slipped on my Nikes and went outside with my iPod and walked. A good 3mph and I broke it up during the day. 15min here, 10 min there, 30 min here, etc. At 175lbs for a guy, you burn about 6 calories per minute. I target 2000 calories…

Thank you for your message. Yes, very joyous...I tell people I feel like a kid again because I have the energy I remember when I was younger. I can tie my shoes and still breath or do push ups. Its amazing how fast the weight creeps up when "one lets themselves go" Thanks again for the nice words.

Thanks. Hanging in there is well put. Its so easy to go up in weight so fast. Doesnt take much. You see the first 5lb drop and feel good. Then 20....then 35....then, wow, 50....and then it becomes like auto pilot. In fact, the food you used to crave arent so tempting like they used to be. Like re-programming the brain. I…

Thank you  You ALL can do it too! PLAN PLAN PLAN. Have your food ready, eat every 2-3 hours, pace it out and dont get hungry or you'll most likely go for high calorie food. Fish, chicken and go easy on red meat. 4oz of meat is what, 100+ calories? Keep that caloric budget at bay.

Thanks again!

VERY inspirational!!! Congratulations for all of your hard work!!!
-
Thanks everyone, yes! I get confused with my younger brother :)

Thank you. Funny you mentioned that. As I looked for an old picture of mine and butted it up against the new one, I sat there staring at them for a good 5-10 seconds where I had my "moment of silence" and choked up a little. All I could tell myself was, "Really? That was me?"
