for the most part, I try to log before I eat. That way I know how many calories I will be consuming and adjust if need-be. It works well for me and keeps me from overeating with my usual excuse that I don't know how bad it is for me. :)

I say don't worry about it, it sounds like muscle in my opinion....which doesn't matter much :-P. The problem with scales is they don't account for muscle.
