I walk my doberman at least five days a week, 1 mile on weekdays and two miles on weekends. I go to the gym at least 3 days per week for at least an hour and a half each time. I change up my workout routine to focus on different body parts each visit so it doesn't get boring. My goal is to add an aroebic class.

I agree with that! I admit that I am a junk food sweet stuff addict! I can't have it in the house. So I spend a lot of time looking at wonderful fruit/veggies and trying out new recipes. My entire household is loving the gourmet cooking and so is my body!

I am so glad to see this thread for women 50+! I have been losing weight for the last five years. I've had some good days and some bad months  Overall I've managed to loose and maintain a loss of 20 pounds. I happened to catch "Project Runway" on TV last night. One of the designers said he had been losing and gaining…

I try to keep Werthers Originals around. When I get the crazies for sweets I pop one in my mouth. By the time I'm finished savoring it, I'm usually over it.

I have the same problem although my sister is younger than me and was always much small than me. Now she is much larger and on a continuous eating schedule of unhealthy food. I just try to give her gentle guidance. I know that motivation has to come from within.

My friends are usually too busy talking and laughing to really notice what I'm doing or to question what I am eating. I usually plan, in my mind what I am going to have. That way I can start the conversation by saying "Have you had the ??? here? It is really great!" Then they will order it too. Drink wise I stick with…

I am in a wonderful seven year relationship with a 62 year old 6-pack fitness mania marine. When it started I was 273 pounds...I'm down to 245 this week. He's been supportive of my efforts to lose weight and provides positive comments along the way. Just last night he said "You deserve a piece of apple pie - I am so…

My cousin sent this awhile ago... A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?" The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way: "Dear people, whales are always surrounded…

I am with you 100%!!! Now I am finding out the thought is better than actually having it!

I feel so bad for you! I had a soda and some apple pie yesterday and came in under my calorie count. I had a grill ham and cheese sandwich and some chips today and I will be under my calorie count today. I pick and choose what I am eating and am usually able to give myself a treat every other day! I'm getting really good…

Same thing happens to me when I go to visit my southern cooking parents! I do my best to load up on veggies with lots and lots of compliments to my mom for the best veggies in the world - that ensures that the next time I visit whe will cook them. :-) I taste the potato salad or mac and cheese ( no more than two…

Isn't that a great feeling!? Last night my SO asked me if I had bought new pajamas. I hadn't bought new pajamas, but didn't tell him I bought them last year and they were too tight to wear. Now they are almost too big!

Since I have trouble drinking enough water, I just opt for a flavored water instead of a diet soda. I really like the Sparkling Ice brands because they are a little carbonated.
