  • 1. Breastfeed your babies - not only does it provide lots of health benefits for the child but it burns an average of 500 calories a day to produce the milk; that's an extra pound a week! 2. Watch your sodium intake - High amounts of sodium can cause your blood pressure to rise and it can make you retain water and slow…
  • Another thing I thought of, how much sodium are you consuming everyday? Also, with as much exercise as you're doing your body could be retaining water. Are you a drinker? Try to stick with it. It sounds like you're doing all the right things and I believe you can do it without weight loss drugs or surgery.
  • My first suggestion would be to set your goals to losing 1 lbs per week instead of 1.5. If that doesn't work try setting your calories to maintenance for a couple weeks then lowering them again. Some people eat different amounts of calories each day; 1200 Sunday, 2000 Monday, 1500 Tuesday, etc. Keep switching up your…
  • Tues: 10/19 challenge: 10 glasses water: All I drank today was water an a cup of orange juice so I think that's covered. 45 minutes MOVEMENT: Just got back from my 90 minute yoga class under calories: Yup, I will be with all the cals I earned today. 1 new healthy snack: I bought some Weight Watchers giant chocolate cookies…
  • I can't find where all the challenges for today are posted so I'm trying to remember them: 45 minutes of continuous movement: Done! I just got back from a 50 minute walk with my hubby and kids. Plus I walked around campus today. Drink 10 glasses of water: Done as far as I know. The only thing I've drank today besides water…
  • You're welcome :) Its nice to know that someone appreciates it when others try to help. Congrats on your weight loss so far and for cutting most sugar out of your diet. I also feel much better since I've started eating healthy. Sugar is just one of the things I've cut almost completely out and for good reasons.
  • I did not write this article. I'm just sharing information. The source is listed at the bottom of the article if you care to look at it. I'm aware other things affect your healthy besides blood sugar levels. But you have to admit that people are eating much more sugar now than say a couple hundred years ago. There's a lot…
  • My friends was complaining about his the other day. The areas that bother me the most are my biceps and tummy. My shoulders and forearms look pretty tones (thank you p90 and all your push-ups) but my biceps have to screw it up with their lingering fat and sagging skin. And then there's my belly that has been stretched to…
  • I'd love to join a group and have even more people to help motivate me. However, I think it would be pushing it for me to lose 30 by Christmas since I've been doing this for a while. So I'd like to lose 20 lbs by then but if its more than that I've be very happy. I just weighed myself so my starting weight for this…
  • I've heard of it making some women gain and then it makes it harder to lose weight. It all depends on the woman just like any other type of birth control.
in Mirena? Comment by wiseg2 October 2010
  • Yes. It ballooned my weight up by 2.6 lbs this week and I'm feeling very bloated and crampy. My body does weird things when I ovulate.
  • You can use the balance board but all you really need is the Wii remote.
  • Good job! I've been trying to cut down on my sodium but its a battle. I know I'm eating less then I was but its still not where I want it to be.
  • Lose slowly (1-2 lbs per week). At first you will lose more than that per week since you have a lot to lose. Make sure to do strength training along the way so you tone up.
  • [quote/] I have Mirena, too, and it's horrible for hormonal changes! I go through periods where I'm STARVING TO DEATH no matter what I eat and periods where I have no appetite. A couple months ago, I could have sworn I was pregnant -- I had all the symptoms. (I wasn't.) And no matter how much water you drink, exercise and…
  • I haven't tried this one but "the cookie diet". I like cookies as much as the next person but I think it would get old after awhile and it seems pretty ridiculous. I saw the ad for it on this site.
  • Try setting your goals to having you lose 1 lbs per week. That should up your calories to 1900 a day. I weigh 238.8 right now and eat 1850 calories per day and I'm consistently losing weight. I'm 5'6".
  • Chicken pita melts with a salad and possibly another veggie.
  • Can you open up your diary? Have you been able to exercise since your surgery? Has your doctor checked your thyroid?
  • Keep up the good work you look great!
  • Keep up the great work!
  • I like the 30 day shred but I don't find it very challenging. Its more likely that the issue is with what you're eating. I can't see your diary but while you're breastfeeding you should be eating at least 1500-1800 cals/day. Most women need closer to 1800 but you should try to never fall below 1500.
  • I had my first challenge today (cycling) and I believe that I'm more fit now than I've ever been and I felt like I was going to die. But it just made me want more. I like knowing that I'm growing stronger while burning tons of fat. But I'm weird like that.
  • I believe I picked moderate and it gives me a great workout.
  • I range from 1300 to 2000 a day depending on how much I exercise and how hungry I am. Most days I make an effort to stay over 1500.
  • I can't remember that last thing I ate that made me feel like crap but last night my husband was eating a sandwich so I asked for a bite. And I regretted that one bite. The lunch meat was so salty I spent the next 15 minutes drinking water and swishing it around trying to get the taste out.
  • How much is a stone?
  • More than likely you are not getting enough calories. 1200 a day is the minimum that your body needs. Anything less than that could slow down your metabolism and put your body into starvation mode. If you're exercising you should try to eat at least some of your exercise calories. If this doesn't help could TOM be…
