That's ridiculous. Even if they get the surgery they still need to learn about proper nutrition and exercise to keep the weight off. Why not just learn about nutrition and exercise in the first place and lose it that way? Not to mention the muscle mass that is lost during the recovery period of the surgery. I mean people…

In my opinion you should stay off it as much as you can. You don't want to mess it up worse. I agree with one of the previous posters, rest, ice, compression, elevation.

I've heard that it can be done. There's a lot of factors involved such age, number of kids, how long you've been carrying the weight around, determination, etc. I've had 2 c-sections and I been heavy since I was 5 or 6. But I'm still young (21 years old) so I'm hoping my determination pays off. Right now I'm doing core…

Wow! What a huge difference :)

Your HRM will always be more accurate than a machine. Especially if the machine does not account for your age, sex, and weight.

Personally it makes me weigh less but everyone is different. Its recommended that you weigh once a week at the same time, using the same scale, each time.

'92 Ford Econoline. This thing is huge its like driving a tank.

I second this. The main places I'm noticing loose skin is my breasts, upper arms, and belly. There is some around my thighs but not as much as everywhere else. My husband isn't complaining and I love the way I feel now and how I look. Remember that we are our own toughest critic. I should also mention that I've lost 88…

What food do you avoid? I try to avoid these as much as I can but its not always possible: sugars, oils, white flour, sodium. How many times a week do you work out? 5 days a week What food do you eat the most? probably chicken, turkey, and fish. I make lots of yummy food at home. How much have you lost!? 88.2 lbs since…

try changing your setting to where you are losing a pound a week. You probably aren't eating enough calories.

I agree with foxxybrown about upping your calories. Try that for a few weeks and it doesn't work you could try consulting your doctor.

A little bit. I weigh myself usually every 2 or 3 days. Sometimes its everyday if I'm feeling frustrating. But my scale also calculates water % as well as fat % and a few other things so its not just weight that I look at.

I've always heard that if you're breastfeeding you should eat between 1500-1800 calories a day if you're trying to lose weight. I'm still breastfeeding my daughter who will be 10 months old on Sunday. I never noticed a drop in my supply but every woman is different. I can get away with eating 1500-1600 calories/day since I…

Mine was 5/10/10. I'd had a baby on 3/23/10 and lost my dad on 9/4/09. He had a heart attack and had struggled with his weight for a long time. He lost a lot of it and was only 54 years old. I hated how I looked in the mirror and I didn't want to leave my kids without a mom. I was also having numerous health problems. I…

The difference is incredible! You look so much younger.

Sorry for the double post

Pretty much anything fresh (not processed) has next to no sodium. Such as fresh fruits and veggies and meats that have had nothing added to them. If you're watching your sodium levels making meals at home is the way to go so you can control exactly what goes into your food. I don't added salt to anything I make at home.

I was 220 at the start of the 8th grade and I got down to 160 by the start of my freshman year of high school. By the time I started college I got back up to around 270. I weighed in yesterday at 218.2 and I'm aiming for 130. My highest weight ever was 305 back in March a week or so before my daughter was born.

I logged everything the best I could. I had about 700 calories for Christmas dinner. What really got me today was brownies. I only had about 200 calories left after lunch so I cleaned for an hour and a half to earn some more. I'm very proud of myself.

Maybe just start making little changes now? Like logging your food just to see where you stand and start educating yourself on living a healthy lifestyle. Or walking or 30 minutes a day? I hit a pretty bad slump in November and now I'm recovering from it. I guess there's no specific way that I got the motivation. I just…

Wow! You look fantastic. Congrats on your weight loss so far and good luck achieving your goals :)

Complete makeover and new wardrobe. I want to cut my hair short and dye it black. I kind of want a tattoo of a rose on my hip. And a bikini of course. I'm kind of afraid of the piercing idea.

I slacked off on exercise for a while. Now I switch between cardio and strength training every other day. On my cardio days I like to use the stairmaster at the gym or go to yoga class. On my strength training days I lift weights with my hubby and do some fast walking on the treadmill to get my heart rate up.

The only way I've found of effectively solving that problem is not having the stuff around the house. Or if someone else wants it I tell them to hide it. Out of sight, out of mind. If neither one of these are possible try to find something to keep yourself busy. I binge the most when I'm bored and have nothing to do. I…

I expect a big drop by next Monday.

You're welcome. I just thought I'd mention the alcohol part because a few weeks ago I drank a lot (my 21st b-day) and that combined with my hormones ballooned my weight up for about a week. Most people will tell you that 1 or even 2 drinks doesn't matter that much. I think you're doing great with your sodium. Mine sits…
