Has anyone done level 3 yet? To mix it up a bit I decided to try it last night. It wasn't exactly a mistake but I wasn't ready for it - I don't have the upper body strength necessary for this level so I'm going back to level 2. I think a few more weeks on level 2 and I'll be ready to move up. Has anyone done her "No more…

I take several different types of supplements and I HAVE to take them WHILE I eat breakfast otherwise I do get a very upset stomach. If I forget to take them while I'm eating then I just skip them because I can't take them all at once.

I ran my first official 5K this past Saturday with a personal best of 42 minutes. I have NO desire to run a marathon but to run 3-5 miles a few times a week is. To do a triathlon next summer is one. To go backpacking is another. I've always considered myself a runner in a fat person's body so my decision to run to lose…

I have two kids - a boy 12 and a girl who is almost 9. Being female and overweight in my family is not unusual. My mom struggled with it all her life, my sister has issues, even my eldest brother is starting to pack on the pounds. On my dad's side, the men seem to be lean and the aunts more pleasantly plump. In the last…

You can't spend every waking hour studying. You'll burn out and it won't do your brain any good to just be idle. Can you plan to study a few hours in the morning, have a quick bite of something and then go DO something? Walk, ride a bike, something. Come back refreshed. Hit the books for a little longer and then go do…

This is my 4th serious weight loss journey and each time I lose it in different places. Usually the hips and thighs are the last to go while I lose it in the stomach and boobs first. This time it is totally different. I'm losing the lower half more then the upper half. So I pull out old jeans and while the legs and hips…

It was interesting but I'm not really sure what it means. It came up "carbo type" and says I should have a higher proportion of carbs to protein and fat. Strange - exactly the opposite of what I've been trying to do which is up my protein. So what now? Should I try to eat what they suggest and see if I lose more rapidly or…

Absolutely terrific !!

I have several co-workers who LOVE greek yogurts. I tried it - several different flavors and brands and I don't like it. It seems to heavy to me and tastes more like sour cream then yogurt. I used to eat Yoplait as well but wanted to get away from the high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners so I switched to…

what did you put in for your weight loss per week? and what did you say your activity level is? those will affect what it tells you on how many calories you should consume.

Drinking water helps flush the water you may be retaining. Seems counter intuitive but I believe this is how it works. You won't retain it - you pee it out again. You'll know you're drinking enough when your urine is a very light yellow or clear. I drink upwards of 80-96oz a day for years and once you get used to it the…

5lbs is what I'm averaging no matter how hard I try to lose more. I started in December and have lost 32 lbs to date - April was a bad month and threw off my average but I'm hoping I can keep it up and have the next 30 off by New Year's Eve. Good luck everyone!!

A co-worker has a friend who is doing this and has lost about 35lbs but I think its insane and very unhealthy. There is no magic pill, shot, potion, shake that will work long term. A few years ago I talked my doc into prescribing Merida (I think that's the name) for me. It tricks your brain into thinking you're full and it…

just wondering but do you clench your teeth? I have the bad habit of doing that when I run sometimes and I'll get a headache afterward when I relax. Sometimes I don't notice it until I'm done and my jaw is aching.

You read my mind! I watched Losing It last night while on the treadmill and was just aghast that these people can lose so much weight in such a short period of time. I guess if you turn your entire life over to exercise and do a massive calorie cut (I'm thinking these people must be given an eating plan and routine from…

Complete Asics girl. Nike's are ok and had bad experience with Saugony ( I think I was fitted wrong) but love Asics. The stiffer the better!!

I know what you mean. My work has been bringing in Panera for working lunches and I LOVE the Sierra Turkey. I looked up the nutritional info on their website and was floored. I just went ahead and ate my own little salad with chicken. Sucks.

I've been using 5's but for some of the moves they are getting too light - thinking of getting another heavier set but not sure - some of the moves are still really challenging with them.

I have bad knees too - especially the left - and the jumping jacks killed me in the first level but dropping weight makes them easier. I still hate them!! As far as doing it twice a day- don't know -might be too much - maybe do a double every other day???? Why not do other cardio? I think you lose some of the effect of the…

For some reason I can't seem to do this any more then once a week but that seems to be enough. Day 6 on level 2 this month and its getting easier. That last strength set - V raises in a squat - still do me in but it IS getting easier!!

Agree with LittleSpy - quick really doesn't happen if you plan on keeping it off. I lose on the average 5lbs a month. Maybe a little more maybe a little less but that is all I average. I don't do any type of commercial program just keep my calories in check and a lot of sweating. I figured it will take me this entire year…

I still consider myself a beginning runner and I don't eat anything special beforehand. I usually run in the morning since its cooler and there are less bugs to eat (!!!) and I only eat something - small bagel with a little smear - when I plan on doing more then 2 miles. Otherwise I just drink some water and get out the…

When I started working on losing weight back in December Wii Fit was one of main forms of exercise. It definitely helped me lose my first 15 lbs.

South of Broad by Pat Conroy - have Wuthering Heights waiting in the wings

Its a good form of exercise - low impact except for you tush - so go to a good bike shop and get fitted so you have the right top tube length and it's comfortable. If this is something you want to continue with as you get slimmer invest in a nice bike not a Target or Wal-Mart special because the ergonomics of a cheap bike…

I think your screen name says a lot. Don't want to judge since I don't know you at all but your goal weight does put you right at the bottom of a healthy weight. Have you spoken to your doctor about your goals? It says you're a dancer so I can kinda understand your desire to be thin but please be careful. Your body might…

Once a week if it goes down :-0

If you want something "hot" - as hot from the oven - not sure that is pool party food - but for years I've made ground chicken honey mustard meatballs. Great for parties. I don't have the recipe in my head but if you search the Cooking Light website you might find it.

I work with someone who is 5'8" and is currently 154 (she's lost 6 lbs lately) and she plays hockey regularly, does cross fit workouts and is training for a tri. If she is overweight - bring it on - I'd love to be overweight like her!! Seriously, you have to have a goal in mind what is right for YOU and maybe talk to your…
