  • When I lost weight previously I plateaued several times. For a day or two I would go over on my calories by either just eating more of my regular food or I would eat a meal of something I restricted myself from. Then switch back to my restricted "diet" (I dont like calling it a diet). The plateau would break within a few…
  • Great job! I'm only two weeks in and I have about the same to lose. I'm taking pictures now.
  • I was able to walk to the creek and back, including the hill, without being winded.
  • Your story and pictures brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing transformation.
  • The hardest things I have learned: Eat what was planned, count it and stop eating when you are still hungry. For me it takes about 15-20 minutes for the hunger to go away. My mother taught me to stop eating when you are comfortable, “comfortable” leads to very full in 20 minutes. (This by far was the hardest for me to…
  • Exactly what I was thinking.
  • Made this last night and was awesome! The serving ideas for it are endless. My boyfriend ate his in a tortilla with blue cheese crumbles (low fat). He's eating healthier and has no clue!
  • Wow you all are making me hungry lol! I have about 185 lbs to lose. I am doing my best to avoid fast food at all and just eat stuff from home. As of right now I dont feel deprived, I feel motivated! My diary is open and I log everything except water consumption. All I drink is water or coffee (two cups in the am, which I…
  • Oh I forgot about He Walked On Water, that one gets me everytime. Mine are: My Immortal by Evanescence (We played it at Grandpa's funeral. Grandma heard it in my sister's car and just broke down. They were together for 70 years. I cannot listen to it without becoming a blubbering mess) Who You'd Be Today by Kenny Chesney…
  • Welcome! You can add me!
  • That is exactly how I eat them! Delicious.... :)
  • It is not the place, nor the condition, but the mind alone that can make anyone happy or miserable. "People who fail focus on what they will have to go through; people who succeed focus on what it will feel like at the end."
  • LOL I did the same thing with my purse! We weigh the dog like that too. Also some giant cucumbers from the garden (one was 6 pounds). Honestly I would stick with the scale that you've been using, even if it's wrong it is consistent.
  • I'm shooting for 150lbs and I'll see what happens after I get there.
  • This makes a lot of sense. I've been seeing a lot of posts talking about moderation instead of eliminating foods. Maybe I wouldnt be making a second trip down weight loss lane. For the last several years I really try to stay away from sugar, and thats because I dont like the way it makes me feel. Also soda, for the same…
  • When I get like that I ask myself "If not now, when?"
  • "“It’s hard to be the weight I was, it’s extremely hard. You can’t fit into most seats, you can’t go on an airplane, and that’s hard. And then you think about losing weight, and that’s hard,” he said, asking, “Which hard would you choose?” That part made me cry. What an inspiration you are. Thank you.
  • Most Stephen King movies are shameful representations of the books. The ones I thought were awesome were Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me and The Green Mile (although it leaves some things out they still did a great job), and of course the original version of The Shining, again a little different the book but what an…
  • Thank you so much! I ate 5 baby carrots plus another glass of water and I feel better (totally forgot I bought the carrots). Also thanks for reminding me about the tea. I cant do green tea at night but I used to love to drink camomile. Add that one to the grocery list. Thanks for setting my mind at ease about trashing my…
  • Thank you all for the encouragement and advice. I am so happy that I found this place! Two doses of Excedrin later I did end up feeling well enough to take the dog out for a 10 minute walk, so thats something even though it wasnt what I planned. Tomorrow is another day.
