instead of upping the cardio, introduce high intensity interval trianing (i.e 30 secs max effort rower, 30 secs rest, repeat.) or upping the tempo and lowering the rest periods in your strength training. If you're lifting your near max every session 4-5 times a week, you can stress the central nervous system and lead to…

You will lose water weight if your hydration is adequate etc. There are several studies that show that the 'bodybuilding guides' of protein intake aren't required for muscle retention in dieting, and can be as low as 0.64g per lb of body wieght and maintain muscle mass. If you're worried that it's not what you want to…

Biscuits on the desk in the office, cream cakes brought into the office, and party rings that were just lying about :/

unsalted mixed nuts, beef jerky is good, but high in sodium, tuna, nut butters & rice cakes, eggs, there are quite a few options - myprotein do chocolate protein bites - again, but of a waste of money when it's fairly simple to knock something up.

I honestly couldn't tell you - my phone is pretty much on silent 24/7.

Just north of Bristol here - halfway to Gloucester - *kitten* end of nowhere really.

You're body is pretty good at discarding what it doesn't want - you're body will normally only absorb what it needs to and flush out the rest - hence eating too much vitamin C can give you the s***s

In my opinion, if you felt that bad on the first training session with a trainer - either you've lied about your current activity level and strength, said you're feeling ok and the weights ok when it's not, or he's incredibly bad at his job! And if you've been honest with the first two things - or said that it's two much…

I'm from down in the south west, 25, (feel 50 :( ) feel free to add away.

Iron deficiency can cause tiredness - maybe some vitamins - but really best advice would be go to docs and get some blood tests done.

But... But what about the abs in 4 weeks that i've just order for £24.99 in pill form... These things generally tend to be a crutch for people to blame their failures on - if they don't get where they want to, it's the products fault - it takes the blame out of their inability to change things. Diet and exercise = results

Only thing I could suggest is to go to a proper running shop to get your gait analysed - it might be that you are over/under prontating and that the trainers aren't suitable for your style of running. Pain in the shin can be cause by weakness in both the knee and ankle.

This sounds stupid, but it's actually cheaper in the more upmarket shops - Ie. It's cheaper in Waitrose than it is in Tesco - because Tesco put it in the 'wholefoods' section and bump up the tag for being good for you, whereas waitrose it's just on the shelf with the rest of it.

It's quite simply amazing. Can make it taste like whatever you want by cooking in stock, and if you want a quick accompnyment to some meat, you can just chuck some frozen veg in with it a minute or so before it's done and you have a meal. Really, just amazing stuff :)

I've got a lovely cottage booked for a week in Scotland with the Partner and Daughter... Only downside is on the 2nd day I have to run Tough Mudder - but then it's all rest :D

You can make a really nice sweet potato pie - except far too much sugar. To be honest, bit of tuna mayo on top for lunch like a baked potato is pretty damn good.
-
Only thing they have a place for is fight training wearing a cup - and even then, I'm torn between whether it's more comfortable to be kicked in the jewels than wear that for 45mins or whatever.

Somewhere between Bristol and Gloucester here :)

I think it depends - I use a HRM for training, and by boosting your metabolism by exercising you're going to keep burning calories at a faster rate for some period after you've stopped training - which would be over and above your base rate calculated by MFP, so in my opinion, I'd keep with what the HRM says you've burnt…

Somewhere between bristol and glos here, feel free to add.

Feel free to add, I'm from Gloucestershire way - I love cooking, but lunch times is generally bland as it's got to be stuff that can be eaten at work.

Do what you have to do - I'm a great believer in before, during and after photo's (taking the putting them online bit out of it) It's great for your own personal satisfaction of seeing how far you've come.

when you're cooking tea, make enough for lunch the following day? Something as simple as quinoa/rice with some peppers and tomatoes mixed in can be filling enough for a good lunch. I 'always' have a bag of tesco's unsalted mixed nuts and raisins on me, at work, at home so if i feel peckish, i go for those rather than the…

It will happen, just stick with it - I've started using MFP again, so here's to the endless saga of watching calories :(
-
Bodybuilders typically tend to favour 'cheat days' - your body will get used to running on the calories that it gets - kick starting the metabolism could be helpful.

Gloucester way here :)
