Thanks for such great tips! I was hoping to get some feedback since most of you are in the same stretch that I am with the last lbs. I have added running (only consistently for a week or so now) and changed my strength training, have tried eating back calores, not eating them back, and am reducing portions and still…

At first it seemed motivating to me however, even on the days (like today) where I went way over it says a number that I haven't gotten down to and it has been more than 5 weeks...oh well:)

Wouldn't it be easy if our bodies were so mechanical! It just is not the case- metabolism, muscle versus fat, inches versus pounds...just isn't such an easy formula.
-
How funny- mine always makes this prediction and I wish I could respond to it- he genius it has been that many weeks and most days are pretty much like today and still not there. Is your calculator broken or what!

Juice day 2: carrot, apple, cucumber

QUOTE: So on the topic of protein shakes- I have never really thought I had a need for this but I am interested in your personal reason for making them. What kind of results you have had, and which you like. I am considering it as I have had the longest ever plateau but am interested in your thoughts. As far as my daily…

This is great! I don't think I would say I am into smoothies but I will join you in 14 days of juicing straight and try to get as close as I can to what you are making. Today I have already made my juice: kale spinach garlic jalapeno red pepper tomato carrot celery ( needed to use up a few things:)- turned out pretty well…

Me too! I am interested in the feedback!

I am sooo glad it worked for you! I was hoping that it would work for me- unhealthy last week and then back on the horse this week and added extra running- alas no change. I will keep working at it though:)

Hello! I had used 30 DS for sometime and still enjoy it for a quick work out. I think it is most important to listen to your body- I think if you feel like your body needs to rest when you are new to the DVD that you should take a day off and do some cardio or something allowing your muscles to heal as you go to avoid…

great- thanks

I love this thread- always looking for new healthy things to make. Thanks!

One more thing- I think I see a fairly direct connection between how I take care of myself and my success in school. I did lots of partying and eating unhealthy foods when I was an undergraduate student so I have done it both ways and now exercising, getting some sleep, and eating a more healthy diet help me to think and…

I am a graduate student so I am sympathetic and understand the challenges and time crunch of school. What has helped me is to always have some kind of snack food with me at school- I need to save money so that helps me stay motivated also. Getting rid of the junk food at home and keeping healthy snacks with you prevents…

Hello! I am just finishing up my first semester of law school also- hard to find time for everything huh!

Thanks for the ideas- I do take the vegan version of omega 3s but can work on increasing some of the other things. The only thing he really recommended was exercise...I will try to do more of it:)

It is 45, not quite into the desirable range. He said I should shoot for 55-60.

I so appreciate feedback...maybe it would help if I give a little more information about my diet... I am vegetarian, I use a juicer to make fresh raw vegetable juice for breakfast about 5 mornings a week, I only eat whole wheat bread and pasta (very little of it- maybe 5 slices per week and 1-2 of pasta), I eat a salad or…

I enjoy a banana for breakfast if I am in a hurry but most days I just have juice. In an attempt to increase vegetable nutrition in my diet I use a juicer and have fresh vegetable juice (fruit occasionally as a treat) every morning. It takes a little bit of time but is said to have really amazing health/nutritional…

So about 30DS- It is soo important to listen to your body! While I think it is intended to be done most days, it takes time to work up to it. It is normal to feel soreness when you start any kind of new work out program but if it is really sore do something else for a day and let those muscles heal! Injuring yourself is…

Thanks bStamps- Congrats on the 10k for Thanksgiving! That sounds great!

yum thanks

weird but I love pickles!!! they are so high in sodium...and it is almost impossible to find them without artificial color, ugh
-
I am not sure how belly friendly they are...but we make quinoa all the time using veggie stock to give it a better flavor; I would think this is good because it is such a great protein source (also vegetarian). Also, spaghetti squash- we make it with sauteed zucchini, mushroom, onion and garlic with low sodium red sauce-…

I love this idea! I am about 5 as well- what a great group! :flowerforyou:

Hmm- I can understand that. Perhaps I should clarify my purpose for using this website... I have made a significant effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle such as daily exercise including some resistance and cardio, making fresh vegetable juice daily to increase nutrition, have a healthy vegetarian diet, and I mostly avoid…

Eek! I had a very bad day yesterday and responded responsibly with drinking:) I had 4 dark beers over the evening! That is more than one meals worth of calories!!!
-
I would love to join- I have lost about 20 lbs over quite some time but would like to loose about 10 more...but the plateau has been discouraging :(

I love pizza also- think crust pizza no less! I try to grab one slice now and again to keep it in check. We also make our own at home; we make the crust with whole wheat flour to keep that more healthy and use fresh veggies without any meat. I also mix light cheese with freshly grated parmesan so you get the cheesy…
