Thank you so much for sharing your story, you are going to inspire so many people. Congratulations on all you have accomplished, you look fantastic!! And you are a Packer fan, I noticed.....woo hoo!

I would be careful about projecting your own experiences and insecurities on to your daughter. It is very possible that she is growing and needs more food. You say that she is not eating junk food, what she is wanting is healthy....then I would give it to her. You also don't want to set up a dynamic at home where she is…

he sounds like a manipulative piece of *kitten*. Sorry, but I wasted my 20s on guys like this, and if I can help save just one young girl from the mistakes I made, I'm going to call it like it is. Please break up with him and don't look back.

I just use trial and error.....if I do a few reps and it feels too easy, I up the weight. If I choose a weight and I can't complete the reps, I lower it. You just have to play around with it.

working on your cadence (how many steps you take in a minute, for example) can really help your form and reduce chance of injury. You should be running with very quick, light steps....almost like you are running on egg shells. Body slightly leaning forward (don't fight gravity, it is your friend!), pelvis tucked under, and…

You look AMAZING!!

Muscle soreness is good, but I think what you are describing is too much....perhaps drop your weight a bit and let yourself build up to it? There are a lot of days where I am sore from lifting, but it shouldn't cause you to have to lay down on one side all day. :) Also, make sure you warm up before, and stretch afterwards!

I try to wash only every other day. On days I don't wash, I usually wet it in the shower, but don't use shampoo. My hair does not get very oily, so it never really bothers me not to wash every day.

Just wanted to say that you look fantastic....you are beautiful! Great work.

I know a lot of women who have used the book "New Rules of Lifting for Women" as an introduction to strength training, and it has worked well for them. There is a group for women following the plan on here. I started lifting heavy about a month and a half ago and I have already dropped 2% body fat, which is a lot when you…

My wedding had 50 guests and it was PERFECT, I would never regret the way we did it. This is what I think: taking your vows is a very serious, intimate thing, and I only wanted people that I was really close to and that were important to me and my husband to be there to share in it. We got to have real conversations with…

I would not be concerned about the high rate, assuming you are healthy. What I have always heard about losing fat is the key is high intensity interval training....meaning that you want to fluctuate your heart rate during the course of your workout, rather than maintaining a level rate. I am not sure what you are currently…

The best way to do it would be to go to the Y and ask a trainer to measure using calipers. You will want to have the same person take your measurements each time you do it. The scales that show your body fat percentage are typically not very accurate, and calculations aren't either. The most accurate would be a DEXA scan,…

I am 5'9" and 145 pounds. I think you could probably make some muscle gains?

You will hear various thoughts on this, but in my opinion you need carbs if you want to run well for long distances. You do not need to be eating low-carb to lose weight. I've lost 60 pounds over the years and I have never eaten low carb. When I was training for my recent half marathon I made sure I was eating a lot of…

I can give you my stress coping mechanism: I exercise. There is nothing better for stress than exercise, you always feel so much better after you are done. Whenever I am feeling stressed I head to the gym, and I always leave feeling calmer and more centered than I did going in. I don't know what you are currently doing for…

feel free to add me, if you like. I also have high cholesterol, I found some success in controlling it by taking flax seed oil supplements daily. I also avoid medication for it by diet and exercise. I have a very strong family history for high cholesterol, so I know it's just a matter of time before I will need medication,…

First off, no one is looking at you. Seriously. I started NROL4W about 6 weeks ago, and I love it. Where I go to work out I am usually the only woman in a roomful of men who are lifting really big, heavy weights....and at first I was totally embarassed by my puny weight, but I have come to discover that they are really…

You are amazing, and you look amazing, too! Congrats on all your hard work!

your diet and heavy lifting, in my opinion.

I would say I am pear shaped: chest: 34 waist: 27 hips: 37 I believe no matter how much weight loss, I will always have wider hips.

I always work out in the morning, even though I am not a morning person. If I don't, I won't get it done, not with a full time job and two kids. Up at 4:30, get to the gym by 5:15, back home at 6:15, leave for work at 7am. :)

From my mother-in-law, on my wedding day, when she first sees me as I'm about to go down the aisle: "Sara, you look beautiful! You look nothing like yourself."
-
Hi there! You probably know my schedule, but I work full time and have two kids. I am no longer a single mom, though, so I do have a husband at home, which helps. :) But I do all my work outs in the early morning, before work. I typically leave for the gym at 4:45, and get home by 6:15 to shower and get ready for work…

I am 5'9" and 145. About a year ago I was down to 135, but I found that very difficult to maintain. I think my body just naturally wants to be in the 145-150 range. I'm focusing now on lifting heavy and I think that is working well for me. Even though I am 10 pounds heavier, my clothes size has not changed that…

Obviously it is a personal decision, but I think 26 is kind of young to get permanently sterilized. They are options like an IUD that would give you very good birth control, for a long period of time (mirena lasts five years, paraguard 10 years), but if you do decide at some point to have a child, you can have it easily…

I'm not sure what kind of advice you are looking for. What I got out of your post was that you were doing really well, but slipped up for a month. Even though you slipped up, your clothes are still fitting fine. And now you are back on track and exercising. All of these things are good things? If weighing yourself causes…

Oh my god, thank you!!!

What some others have said: your body does adapt as you get better and more efficient at endurance type activities (like running), so you may see that weight loss slows down. It is also difficult, at least for me, to do something like marathon training and eat at a calorie deficit. I actually gained weight while training…

don't know how to post pics either, but mine is .76. 28" waist and 37" hips. Really hoping to lose some inches in both places.
