Good luck Tashana: The first and hardest step is the first step. You're on the path now. Stick with it and you'll reach your goals.

I have not scientific proof......but honestly, beer makes me weigh more....ALWAYS. When I drink beer, the scale goes in the wrong direction. When I drink wine or a vodka/soda drink, my weight goes down or stays the same. I have a theory that beer and my body just don't go well together. I have no idea why, but I've been…

Hi Wendy: I think you'll really enjoy using the site. It's so simple and so much fun to track your progress. Good luck to you! Bryn

Read "The China Study". Then, we'll talk. BTW, love your photo :) 300 is my all time favorite movie!

Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and tell yourself that you are "better" than that lasagne or coffee drink. Take a moment to thank your body for giving you the courage to stay away from the foods that do not serve you.

Looks like a lot of us are dealing with maintenance. I've been in maintenance mode for about 2 years and I can tell you it is really, really hard. I've noticed that if I eat "bad" for just one day, I gain weight. A combination of cardio and strength training helps but the bottom line is, you have to be so careful every…

I've found it's good to write out your week but to know that there may be days you'll have to deviate from the plan for lunch meetings or dinners out. If you have a solid weekly plan, it makes grocery shopping easier and can also help you stay on a budget. You don't have to get super fancy and you shouldn't make it harder…

Dice an apple and top with 1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt. So delicious and fills you up for the morning. This also makes a great afternoon snack.

When I'm sore, I hike. Do some hill workouts and a fast walking pace. Then, stretch good and call it a day. You can also go to a spin class or spin on your bike if you have one. Gets the legs moving without too much resistance. Burns lots of calories too and very low impact. I love spin class.

Produce.....veggies and fruit first. Fill up my cart and then add a few other items from around the store. I also ONLY buy what's on my list and never go to the grocery store hungry. :)

Eat a very small amount of protein mixed with some veggies or fruit. Like 1 tablespoon of peanut butter with 1/2 an apple or banana. Then, walk away from the kitchen and I'll bet your hunger will go away. You can do this with a small amount of Greek yogurt and half an apple too. I'm telling you it works, is very few…

I classify my pilates sessions as strength training. It's all core work and lots of upper body. Not necessarily cardio. I say, go with strength.

If you have access to a swimming pool, go for it. Swimming is great exercise, low impact and burns tons of calories. It's actually really hard but once you get going, you'll be amazed at how much you burn in the pool. Start out with 10 laps and work up from there. Your body will thank you.

Go Google and type in P90X to get a copy of the workout I mentioned. There's a complete website. I also just noticed an ad for P90X on the MFP website. You can click on the link.

If you can get your hands on a copy of the P90X plyometrics CD, you'll thank me when you see the results. So fabulous. Great workout and will make your legs look like sculpted rocks! Trust me.

Add a bit of protein into your meals and snacks. It really helps keep hunger away. Dieting will get easier as your stomach shrinks too so give it some time.

I have two children and I had a "stretched out" belly for many years. It takes time. If you stick to your fitness goals and eat a healthy diet, it will eventually get a lot better. It took me about 5 years to really get rid of the belly fat and what seemed like extra skin. Be patient. It takes time. Weight loss is a…

Start your meal with hot and sour soup. It's so delicious, filling and very low in calories. A lot of times, I'll just order a bowl of soup and have that as your entree. A bowl is a lot and will fill you up. If you want variety, get a cup of soup and then try a veggie dish with brow rice and see if you can get someone to…

Hi Helma: You will naturally run faster in a race. But, what's most important is what you are thinking about while you're running. Keep your mind focused and happy. Think, "light, fast, easy". Have you read the book Born To Run? I highly recommend. Keep your mind happy. Have fun. Don't get too hung up on your speed and…
