Joyce, As a personal trainer, it's really hard to estimate calorie burn from weight lifting. There are so many factors that go into it such as load, speed, power, rest in between sets, etc... Rachel, Adherence to exercise is always a challenge. As Amanda said, it has to come from within (intrinsic)... however, it can also come from an extrinsic factor (meaning an outside source).
