I know people who had this same question.... they actually waited until they'd finished their workout regimen (they did something else, not the 30 day shred). They said they were happy that they waited because they felt like they were rewarding themselves for their hard work! One in particular said he was glad he…

Realistically with all the variables I can think of? 6!

I started taking AD's four years ago. I kept gaining weight steadily (47 lbs) until last year when I decided to get back into working out. It's hard to get back into it. REALLY hard. But if you stick with it for at least a month then working out actually feels like a necessary part of your day. Another great thing about it…

Going when my body is still thrashed from the day before =P

Your body doesn't magically turn late night calories into megafattycalories. For me the main problem is that as I get more and more tired (I'm usually up until about 2-3am) I get less and less aware of my hunger cravings. That sort of groggy state sort of impairs any willpower I exert throughout the day. Past midnight I…

Counting calories isn't fun. It's a pain in the butt and it's awkward being the person who won't eat what everyone else is eating or won't drink that much. But for me the instant gratification behaviors of stuffing myself (when I was a big fatty) only resulted in shame and guilt for much longer than the great taste lasted.…

I've always associated "skinny-fat" with people who are thin but have poor eating habits and don't exercise much (or at all). I associate people who do lots of cardio with, you know, being fit and being healthy :P. You should be super pround of the progress you've made, don't pay attention to people trying to further their…

If anonymity is what they want then why get all vocal on the forums?

Even if he's a nice guy, saying that sort of stuff is basically emotional extortion on his part. I've been in this situation (well, in your boyfriend's situation), and it's far kinder to break it off so he can get over it, learn how to cope with it, and move on. Breaking someone's heart is by no means easy, but you simply…

A person who's that compassionate and considerate has no reason to be nervous on MFP - you'll fit right in! As a fellow shy person (computer monitors make me feel far less judged and fidgety than loads of actual people) actually using the message boards was awkward at first. But now it's really a tremendous resource and…

Low 50's resting heart rate? Dude, you're seriously fit! Yeah, I also weigh my food (Well, meats and fruit/veggies) and try to exercise a decent amount, but when I really started noticing the difference between MFP's estimated calories burned and cardio machines... well that got me looking. Counting calories only works if…

THANKS FOR THE STRAIGHT SHOOTIN'! Getting to the gym and burning calories is great for boosting morale, but overestimating what you're burning can be counterproductive if it's affecting the accuracy of calories in/out. You mentioned that Garmin uses inaccurate formulas for calculating calories burned... do you know if the…

I don't think the guys with disproportionately large muscles are going for traditional aesthetic standards of beauty... That sort of bulk isn't my goal, but I absolutely respect people who put in that much work and dedication. Watching them crank out a huge set always inspires me to push myself a little bit harder at the…

Awesome, awesome post!

I try to do 40-50 minutes of cardio (running, erging, stairmaster, bike, etc.) each day and lift 4 - 5 times a week. Usually its upper body, then back, then lower body, then a sort of all inclusive lift day.

I'm 21... but I feel old now. Hahaha. Anyway, welcome back!
-
Sorry to lurk but I noticed you've consistently burned almost 3000 calories each day for a while now! What exercise are you doing and for how many hours? It's amazing!
-
I used to be ultra-obsessive and weigh myself 3-5 times a day... silly and counterproductive! Now I only weigh myself once a week, just so I know where I stand (and how heavily I stand there =P). Doing it more by sight now because dieting, cardio, and more intense lifting (which has really helped me take shape) feels…

As a person who used to jump (well, waddle) out of frame whenever pictures were being taken, I can relate! Congratulations on your amazing progress and all your hard work! Being so disciplined every day is a huge accomplishment and you should be SUPER PROUD OF YOURSELF!

Feel kinda cocky for a posting a second time... but I'm pretty proud of the progress I've made! Ignoring constant snacking cravings (and late night eating. Oh, late night eating, how I miss you) is tough but well worth it.

Unbelievable. Unbelievable! An absolute triumph of willpower. Bravo, sir. Bravo! P.S. Any chance you'll share what some of those low calorie but filling foods are? =D

Good prep for being comfortable with being shirtless in the real world!

Pretty sure he's referencing stuff like the BMI and those who aren't experiencing health problems from obesity. Definitely agree though. Body types (and mainly muscle mass) aren't really taken into account.

- Feel uneasy when I go a day without working out instead of dreading having to do it - Run shirtless and not worry the whole time that everyone's judging me - Be proud of the progress I've made! Awesome topic idea! =D

I used to really hate going to exercise. It's hard to motivate yourself to go do something that's painful and boring haha. But once you make a habit of it it's an integral part of your daily routine and you don't really feel right without doing it. ANYWYAY. I really like it because of the endorphins, the fact that it…

Amazing progress! Congrats!

Aerodynamic by Daft Punk Completely re-energizes me and motivates me to keep going and push harder in long cardio sessions!
