While I'm not sure it's reccomended, I've used a brush dish soap and a hose to wash them as well as gentle cycle in the washer. I let them air dry after which usually doesn't take long. Don't dry them anywhere hot though. I'm sure there are manufacturers reccomend actions, but this has worked well for me.

I've been looking at these as well, but what and how you're using it seems to make a big difference as to what kind of tracker you buy. I'll keep an eye on the thread while I'm shopping around.

Have you had your Vitamin D levels tested? Might be a good idea if you haven't. You may already know about it with studying nutrition, but if you are deficient, it can affect your weight. I couldn't imagine that it would be a problem for me, outdoors a lot and vegetarian, but eat lots of yogurt, etc. I went to the Dr.…

And that is why when I caught my 14 year old daughter watching the show one night ( I think someone had just barfed exercising), I banned it in the house. I hate "reality" shows anyway. Not too much less reality based than those, but someone must be watching them, because everytime you turn on the tv there's another one.

I'm an ova-lacto veg, and I do use meat substitutes. I tend to use Quorn (non-soy, and they're excellent) more than anything else, but that's because I try to avoid GMO foods and it's hard to find soy that isn't GMO. I've also noticed some problems with both myself and my daughter when we eat too much soy. Everyone is…

Calories in calories out does not necessarily = weight loss. We've known this for 3-4 years. Problem is, it's hard to make money selling a diet of healthy, less processed foods. First article references a study by Harvard, link is in the article if you want to read it yourself. Second one was published in a medical…

I think 1200 is the number it spits out for women. I set mine to lose 1 lb a week, needed to lose 25 or 30 I think, and it gave me 1200. I'm 5'2". I changed it to 1500 and eat back my exercise calories. It needs to be something I can live with.

Saw a program with this lady on it last week. I think it answers your question well! http://abcnews.go.com/Health/mess-ernestine-shepherd-body-building-grandma-benches-150/story?id=10480184

Love my breadmaker. I do have a ton of recipes, any kind in particular you're looking for? Also the King Arthur Flour website has some really great, easy recipes. It's like making bread by hand though, once you get the hang of it, you pretty much come up with a lot of your own recipes.

Bump, need to find this later. This would be great when the parents come down. Dad is supposed to be watching his diet as well and these sound like a really tasty treat.

Yumm, must find these :) (and adorable frog shape is cool too!)

Does this taste like real (the kind you'd walk into a little store and get a bowl of) gelato. Haven't seen it, but I see there's a couple of stores around here that carry it ;)

Whats a freddo? I always have at least 1 Cadbury egg at Easter.

You have to have some calories left for this one, and I use homemade Greek yogurt, but I'm sure you could do this with a good commercial one and it would be great . Anyway, 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened coconut, 1/4 cup or so of walnuts and a banana. You can sub it as a…

You can make tatziki at home really cheap and easy. Use Greek yogurt, preferably a thick one. diced cucumber, fresh garlic, fresh dill and lemon juice to taste. I make homemade yogurt at least weekly and I often make extra for tatziki. Whole family loves it. We eat it with warm pita wedges, pita chips, veggies or use it on…

Been a veggie for a very long time and always love trying new recipes out. Thanks, I just bookmarked your blog. You have beautiful photography with the recipes. I bet we'll be seeing a cookbook from you soon :)

If you have a good relationship and trust your nutritionist, then do what she says will help. You've already made progress with her. If you have specific concerns, talk to her about them. She is a professional and judging from what you've said about your improvement seems to know what she's doing. Good luck! It's good to…

Add fresh fruit and granola to the yogurt if that's an easy breakfast for you. I add the fruit to the yogurt at night and throw the granola into a separate container and take the whole thing to work with me in the morning. (Then again, I can't seem to make it through a day without some yogurt!)

You look awesome :)

Meds, half of these drugs were fast tracked meaning no long term studies. Side effects are often minimized or misrepresented. Sorry, modern medicine can be wonderful, but when Dr's are given the wrong information, its hard to give patients the right information. And meds can absolutely affect the way your body handles…

cultures for life has a lot of different types of cultures. (no I don't work there and I'm sure you can find other places). Anyway, there are a lot of cultures that you just use a bit of your last batch to start your next. They all come with instructions and there's also a great selection of free e-books if you want to…

I haven't seen honey ones. Where do you get them?

I just count the things that are out of the ordinary for me, spring cleaning, maybe, regular no. Then again I don't count walking. I spend a lot of time walking for my job, school etc. so it's not something that I think is presenting enough of a challange to call it exercise.

Is pop tarts and Ice cream a regional thing? We did waffles and ice cream, but I never heard of that one.

Why did you choose the sedentary?

I've used a similar product I got at target when Im dressing up on special occasions. Not terribly comfy, but they do the job to smooth things out a bit.
