I can't wait for it to come out. I have the original and I used it from time to time, but I just couldn't get into it with the distracting graphics. However, I must say that it was a great introduction to Zumba. I've never done it before and I got into looking for videos. There's 1 class in my area, but it's at the YMCA,…

Well, I've been here almost 2 months. I've heard that people delete inactive friends so that could be how you've lost some friends. Feel free to add me & welcome back!

Whoa, didn't mean to cause a raucous. I am new here. I've talked to my doctor and my doctor confirmed that overconsumption of protein could be an issue. But maybe that's just for me. I also did research online to back up his statements and here's one of the articles. Do what you want, it's your body! Each person should…

Spinach is a great food too. Very healthy. You could do a spinach salad or if you want to cook it, a spinach pie. I found a healthy version of it here: http://healthy.food.com/recipe/spinach-pie-150928 These go in a muffin pan. Very cute & easy for portion control:…

How about asapragus?? I don't think it's in season, but I still find it in my grocery store. I like to steam them in my microwave, broil them in the oven, or throw them on the grill for a few minutes. I only add a little garlic powder after I wash them and it helps to give flavor. You can add butter once the dish is hot if…

If I know I'm going out to eat, I try to eat sensibly for the other meals & snacks. Also, I try to go online and check out a menu if I can and get the nutritional info to find a decent meal. It's not always the salads that are healthiest. If none of that works, try eating BEFORE you get together and have water or unsweet…

First of all, congrats on your initial weight loss! It's not an easy job as I've learned in my 1st 45 days here :) Now, how you approach this topic is how you will hold your attitude towards the situation. If it were me, I'd take missing the 199 day check in as a sign to start a clean slate. Some would take it as a sign to…

I also think it's important to USE the protein you're taking in. If you're working out, it's best to take in extra protein. If you're not working out, I wouldn't go over too much in the protein area. Protein is used by the body to repair worn muscles, but if there are no muscles to repair, it gets stored as fat. I go over…

And I DO do the work for me. I want to get up the stairs without breathing heavy, walk the dog without feeling the need to stop every so often, hopefully one day have babies. I want to live til I'm 100. I want to see my feet again without having to move my belly out of the way, lol. I give myself daily affirmation. It's…

Thank you everyone for your support. Yes, my hubby is overweight. Has been the 10 years we've been together. When I met him I was a whopping 105 lbs soaking wet (I'm 5' tall) and now I started MFP at over 200 lbs. His eating habits rubbed off on me most definitely. I go to a gym at least 4 times a week. I started just over…

I have it and I've never done Zumba before so I'm a newbie at it. It makes you sweat . If you're not doing the moves right, you can't move on as you should. When you get the hang of it, the tempo speeds up so it's good for beginners & advanced users.

I plan to log, but have a little bit of everything. So I won't have full portion sizes, so it should balance out. My gym is only open for a portion on Thursday, so I plan to do a little working out at home to avoid that "stuffed turkey" feeling :) Good luck!

Slow & steady wins the race. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet. Diet's don't work because they are short-term. Think long-term & you'll go places in life :)

I've been doing that too. I've noticed some of them haven't been updated in over a year and a lot of times food recipes & ingredients change so it's important to verify the info if you have the package. I did it with Planet smoothie & a few other things I buy at the grocery. Good luck Detective!

I just cooked a pound & a half of bacon just so I can keep it in the fridge to grab quickly to add to dishes or have a snack. No need to wait for it to cook :)

Sometimes you have to hold their nail in the baking powder for a few minutes. Get them to relax in your lab or beside you & put the baking powder in a measuring spoon (since it's pretty deep) then hold their nail in it. The dog must lay still for a while to keep from reopening the injury. If that is not possible, take a…

Well, I've been here just over a week now and I' feeling great. My weight is fluctuating all over the place, but overall I am feeling taller, tighter, and healthier. I am grateful for all of the support I have been receiving here :)

Thanks ladies! I'm trying to change how I eat & sometimes I REALLY miss my old snacks. It's good to know there are healthier alternatives

I'm just starting out, so I don't know if I'll be much help. I can tell you that I am 5' tall & I've read that I SHOULD weigh 112 lbs. I think that's BS. When I met my hubby 10 yrs ago, I was a whopping 120 lbs soaking wet & I HATED it. I was more comfy at about 130-140 lbs. I also felt that I looked more attractive with…

Interesting. I used to love eating pickles, but since I cut extra salt out of my diet I don't get them too often. I wonder if I reduce the salt in the pickle mixture if I'd get the same effect. Hmmm... experiment time!
