I'm not the expert here, but from what I've heard if the sugar is natural sugar from fruit, veggies, etc don't worry too much about it. Now if all that sugar is from cookies, cake etc, then you might have a problem.

Other than the cigs, have a good time! Don't fast the day of, but keep your diet light leading up to the party. Pace yourself on the beer by having a glass of water in between each one. As far as the food goes, sample (ie small helping) anything you want. Try not to go back for seconds. Bring a veggie tray or a healthy dip…

Welcome from the other end of the state and the other side of 40! Congrats on the weight lost so far, sounds like you are definitely on the right track. L

Hey, some of my favorite words are on that list!

I saw another thread about this the other day and checked out Wal-mart's website. While my abs aren't really my problem thanks to a tummy tuck, I am thinking about getting the bike shorts for my butt/hip/thighs when I get a few spare dollars. L

If you are at a healthy weight and BMI, maybe that is what is making it difficult?

Are the rolls for sandwiches? Look into Deli Flats or similar products, and in wheat if you can. Stick to the perimeter of the store!

Thanks for the advice. I guess I am going to have to wait until I can get a good pair of running shoes before I start the program. Oh well. Still me and my Wii!! L

Try and up your protein too to get those muscles recovering, too!

I am trying to think what might be around my house that I could substitute for the kettle bell. Are the raises and curls with weights?

Are you losing inches? You could be gaining some muscle weight which will add weight but slim down the inches. I'm also noticing cycle related patterns. I lose more weight the week before my period than any other. Keep at it! L

I think if you can just give yourself 30 minutes a day to walk, jog, do a workout DVD you will feel a lot better. Not only will it do your body good and keep you from completely losing all the progress you've made but it will be good for you mentally to take a break from the books and clear your head for a bit. As for…

I must be getting old because I've started loving Kashi Autumn Shredded Wheat. I add fruit, lately blueberries, and soy milk. I've also been know to throw a few in a container and take it with me for a road snack.

I do the aerobics exercises and then reward myself with some of the fun stuff. Unless I've been really bad, I skip the hula hoops.. I'm too ADD for that. I love the rhythm boxing and the cycling. L

It should ask you to set another goal. I know when I hit mine, that's what it does.

Well I think that is an overall generalization because it does say "As long as your diet is balanced and healthy overall, you can lose weight and keep a good amount of it off if you watch the calories" Balanced and healthy. You can't have 1200 calories of ice cream and lose weight. But if your carbs are high one day, or…

Brilliant! Proof that slow and steady wins the race. You look fantastic.

Okay, for starters let's think portion control. Just what kind of serving would you have to eat to have a cup of flour? I have been using King Arthur's White Wheat flour in place of all purpose. Honestly, I am not sure about the calorie difference, but at least it's better for you!

Are there any good Zumba DVD's?

Good job! For some reason I just thought of something one of our neighbors told me several years ago. I hadn't seen him in about 5 months. When I did, he look much thinner than he had before. When I commented on it he told me he had been trying to loose weight for about a year and a half (much than the 5 months) and said…

I hate the Super Hula Hoop ( and I don't say that word often LOL). I am too ADD to do anything that repetitive that long. That said... I love Rhythm Boxing! L

I accepted a long time ago (okay about 3 years ago watching What Not to Wear) that size is just a number. But, still..... YEAH YOU!!! I'm still a size 14, but my best friend noticed the other day that I was wearing my shorts with the waist band folded over. I'm sure 12s are in my future somewhere, but right now, for some…

Are you eating back the calories you work off? You don't want to let your body go into "starvation mode." Just like you need to keep your work out varied, you need to keep your metabolism guessing, too. If it gets in a rut and knows what it needs to burn, that is what it will do. Give it a little bit more to burn! You've…

In Chili's defense, they do have "guiltless grill" selections and they are very good about modifying their dishes.

I would record which ever one was your usual weigh in time.

Oh I know that time is coming when I am drawn like a magnet to the Oreo's in the grocery store. It's the only time I really crave something sweet. Usually I crave cheese and saltier stuff. I've avoided the whole package binge so far, but it will come and I will just have to gather the strength the next day to get back up…

Touching on the previous post, every woman's body is different and a size is based on much more than weight. For me, I am "blessed" with German hips and will always be a size bigger than other women my weight just to accommodate my hips. Always seems I am in search of a good tailor. Some where around my 40th birthday I…

I am sure you have heard this tip before but it bears repeating. Stay to the perimeter of the store as much as possible. This should be fruits and veggies, meats, dairy. Of course, in the Publix I go to that also includes wine, but that's another story ;) I understand getting snack packs for the ease of taking to work and…
