Any using a Ringconn smart ring?
Good morning! I'm getting a Ringconn smart ring this week. I know, at this time, it isn't integrated with MFP. I'm going to try syncing it to Google Fit and then sync that to MFP. I guess the option would be manual entry. I'm interested in how other people are making it work with MFP (Android based) and any tips or tricks…

Lots of Changes
Over 10 years ago, I used MFP to lose 40 pounds. Over the years, with changes in life, work, and health, they have crept back. I've come back to MFP a few times, but it has been about 2 years since my last check-in. I wanted to come back here and start again, but man, so many of the great features from before are "Premium"…

Burning face
In nearly 7 years of being on my fitness/weight loss journey, something new happened today. I finished a 30 minute and very sweaty work out. The kind where 5 minutes later, you are still sweating. I went into the locker room tried to wipe off with a towel, but was still sweating. I decided to wet my towel with cool water…

Morning vs evening workout
I'm back to working out. I've finally managed to carve out a time first thing in the morning at 5a.m. It is easier for me to stay consistent because when I come home from work, I never quite know what I'm coming home to family wise. I like doing the DDP Yoga work outs, but have noticed my calorie burn (per my HRM) is…

Mixing water with powdered mixes
I cycle with a 70 ounce Camelbak. On my 20-30 mile rides I will go through half to 2/3 of it. From 40-58 miles I go through the whole thing. If I mix a powder for a 16 ounce beverage in it, will it severely cut the benefits or do I just need to make sure I drink the whole thing to get them all? Trying to save some money…

Anyone cycling?
I lost my initial 30 pounds here and come back now and then as maintenance requires. Right now I am back because for some odd reason my weight has been up a few pounds the past few weeks. Not doing anything different, but I digress. Anyone around here cycle? I started about 2 years ago with my daughter's old mountain bike,…

Found TVP at Whole Foods
I have been looking for ways to boost my protein intake, and I stumbled across TVP in Whole Foods today. Where has this been all my life? From what I can gather it is a meat subsititute/stretcher. While the idea of stretching our grocery budget is mildly exciting, what I would really like to know is how I can add it to…

Domino's Nutritional Info
I think it's very cool that not only does the website have a calculator that allows you to put in the ingredients of your pizza and calculates nutritional values, but it also gives you options to make it lighter. L

Polar FT7 acting up
Lately, my FT7 seems to have trouble getting a signal from the transmitter from time to time. Not every work out, but at least once a week it does this. I've tried tightening the band, making sure the fabric contacts are good and wet, but the problem can still occur. Any ideas? L

Pulled/over stretched inner thigh
We were doing front, back and side lunges with weights in a tone and sculpt class today. During a right sided lunge I kicked out more like I was doing a fencing lunge and when I pushed the lunge I felt a stinging type ache in my right inner thigh. I continued through the reps and each time that inner thigh was stretched to…

Weight not coming off as easy as before
I was started using MFP last year just after Mother's Day and lost 34 pounds by Thanksgiving. Yeah me! I considered myself lucky that I didn't really have a plateau during that time and the weight loss was rather steady. I slacked off over the holidays and into the beginning of the year. By Mother's Day this year, 10…

I'm back
Took it easy since Thanksgiving and 10 pounds have crept back on. I am starting to log my food and exercise again to send them back from whence they came. I lost 30 pounds last year from May to November. That was a lot of hard work and I want to nip this weight gain in the bud. Linda

HRM at gym
I am thinking about venturing into a gym for some strength training while my son is at JiuJitsu tonight. If I wear my HRM for a calorie count is it okay to let it run for the duration of my workout or do I need to stop it between machines?

Why don't people think?
After losing 30 pounds, my wardrobe is pretty week, especially heading into fall and winter. My husband spread the word that Ann Taylor/Loft cards would be a great present for my birthday. So what does the family get me? Cash (okay, that's handy), an electronic meat thermometer (had one, didn't need another, but no one…

Help with next 5 pounds.
I hit my goal of being "normal" weight and now I am going for 5 more "insurance" pounds. I changed my goals to lose only .5 pounds a week, which jumped my calories from 1200 to 1420. I haven't changed my workouts, so each day I get about 300-400 extra calories to eat back. At the 1200 mark, I was doing good with this, but…

Denny's
Today is my husband's birthday. When he got up this morning, he declared he wanted to go to Denny's for his free birthday. Our youngest son would eat free, too. At first I was worried. I did my work out already, but tomorrow could be a big news weigh in for me and I don't want to blow it. I was happy to see they have some…

C25K Week 9
Well I went through 9 weeks, but I am a far cry from what I would call a graduate. In week 5 I was able to complete the 20 minute run. Week 6's 25 was a challenge, but since then I just can't do the whole run. I take several short (30-45 second) breaks during the run. I'm covering about 2.5 miles at this point. Needless to…

Two to go
Wow, 2 pounds to go until I am at my goal of a "Healthy" weight. Unbelievable! That will put me just under the overweight line. I would like to get an additional 5 "insurance" pounds, but it's not critical. Should I do more of a maintenance plan and let the extra pounds come off when they do or should I keep doing what I'm…

Booty Call
Not sure what I've gotten myself into, but I just ordered Brazil Butt Lift from Beachbody. All this weight loss is great, but I've literally lost my a%% !!! Like, it's not there anymore LOL. Hoping BBL can put it back up where it belongs, well as much as a 42 year old rear can be put back in place. L

C25K question
I usually run on M,W, and F. I am going to be out of town Monday morning when I should start week 6. Which is my best option: 1. Run Monday night when I get home after driving 4 hours and continue with W, F 2. Run Tuesday morning, Wens and Fri. (thurs and sat are not options) 3. Run tomorrow morning (Sunday) before I…

What is that???
I was sitting here listening to an Avon training class and started rubbing my leg 'cause I had an itch. All of a sudden I realized... OMG, I can feel the muscle definition in my leg. Had to check out the other one, too and yep! Muscles are there, too. See what happens when you lose 24 pounds and 9 inches ? Woohooo! L

Spider Tech?
Has anyone tried the Spider Tech tapes that are advertised around here? Would some sort of over the counter tape work as well? I am thinking about them for my calves. L

You CAN do this
I will admit, I get frustrated when I see posts about over indulging one day, or what to eat at a restaurant. Don't sweat the small stuff!! And in the scheme of a lifestyle change, 1 meal, heck 1 day, is a small thing!!! Keep an eye on the big picture and you will be just fine. Case in point. Tuesday just before lunch my…

Yoga this morning
Over the weekend I found a local Yoga class at a community center near by. I emailed the instructor and she replied that my 9-yr-old son would be welcome. I was worried my DH would poopoo the idea, but he actually was right on board saying it could only help Jake's JuJitsu and Football. SO, off we went this morning and I…
