Anyone cycling?

I lost my initial 30 pounds here and come back now and then as maintenance requires. Right now I am back because for some odd reason my weight has been up a few pounds the past few weeks. Not doing anything different, but I digress.

Anyone around here cycle? I started about 2 years ago with my daughter's old mountain bike, pedaling it around our apartment complex. That led to me getting a hybrid that I took on errands, and gradually worked up from 5-7 mile rides up to 30! At that point, I got a road cycle. I usually ride 3-4 times a week. During the week I do a 7 miles MWF and on weekends I try to get in a longer ride of 15-30 miles. It's been an adventure figuring out clipless pedals, but I have signed up for my first charity ride and am nervous/excited about that.

I ride. I started back in Feb. and have worked my way up to 60 mile rides. I am working toward a century. It is a great way for me to get my exercise done and not get bored. I have joined some clubs around me to give me some performance targets and a way to socialize when on the bike. I started with a cyclocross bike as I wanted a road bike but not in such an aerodynamic profile. I have twice when clipped in. It does take some time to get your mind to remember you are clipped when stopping.

Charity rides are fun, just go out and enjoy yourself.

Once you get used to going clipless, you'll never want to bike without them :D

I haven't biked nearly as much as I should since I moved to Mass. this fall though.

Unfortunately the snow is here now so my riding will be limited for the next few months.

During the summer though, I ride a hybrid to and from work (~25km) every day along with recreational rides on the weekends.
Its my favorite form of exercise because it doesn't feel like exercise.

Having gone through a divorce and few other of life's dramas, I find my bike my best therapy! Fortunately, I live in North Florida so snow won't be an issue, but we do get cooler temps, especially in the morning when I tend to ride. I did get some cool weather bike gear so that should keep me going a little be longer and other than that I will just have to find away to tweak my schedule a bit.

I love my bike and my time on it. I had lost a big block of weight at the gym so switched to my bike during the summer to change things up. I have some thermals and gloves so I suppose I'll get a few more rides in, but not too many more. Looks like it's shaping up to be a cold fall in Michigan.

It's killing me not to ride this morning, but the forces are against me. It's 47 out (my cutoff is 50) and more importantly (because that is a wimpy reason) I am under doctor's orders not to until Friday (though I may cheat and ride tomorrow.) Who knew teeth extraction could be such a medical inconvenience?
