  • Yeah, I'm bulking right now, but it's because I need to. Bulking will help me gain strength and muscle much faster than I would if I just tried to lift and become stronger. And for wrestling season, I'm going to have to drop down to about 10% body fat and bulking and cutting would help me achieve this much faster. Also for…
  • At first I thought this thread was gonna be about people cheating by not entering in all the foods they eat or changing the amounts in MFP. LOL
  • 800 calories is nowhere near enough, even if you want to lose weight, unless you're like 4 feet tall. Your diet is also composed entirely of carbohydrates, which you should be limiting if you want to lose weight. You need more protein and fat in your diet if you want to lower your body fat percentage.
  • I also forgot to add that I agree with the person who said the last pounds are extremely difficult without exercise. I went from 140lbs at about 14%body fat to 130lbs and about 13%body fat. If you want to get to a low body fat percentage without having to lose tons of weight and look anorexic, I recommend you exercise.
  • Weight loss is controlled by creating a deficit of calories for the body. You can create a deficit by either eating less, or exercising to burn enough calories to create a deficit. Well if you exercise, I agree with the other people you will look a lot better and healthier. If you don't exercise you're going to lose a lot…
  • For any of you who are interested in lifting, this is probably the best program in there for beginners. http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/The_Starting_Strength_Novice/Beginner_Programs I'd recommend the original program, and reading the book to avoid injury (the book really fixed my form a lot). The only thing I would…
  • 1500 is DEFINATELY not enough for a person of that size. I am 5'9" 147 lbs and my BMR is ~1700. I maintain with 2800 calories/day. Eating less than your BMR will seriously mess up your metabolism long term. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=121703981&s=e7c715683aa6e8e7f98039af8ed76162 Use this link to…
  • Yes, you always should. Myfitnesspal already underestimates caloric requirements in most people. Then when you eat too little and do not eat back those exercise calories, yes you will lose weight faster, but you'll just be losing more muscle and the same amount of fat.
  • Well a lot of people overestimate the calories the burn from exercise and sometimes underestimate the amounts of food they are eating when entering in to their diary.
  • Whey, egg whites, tuna, tilapia, salmon, pretty much all other fish/seafood, skim milk, BONELESS SKINLESS CHICKEN BREAST, ground chicken, ground turkey, beef( if it is very lean), turkey cutlets,
  • You can't target just the lower abs, you have to target the abs as a whole. When muscles contract, the whole muscle contracts and this is why you can't just target one part of a muscle. You also can't spot tone to remove fat in one area of the body. You have to lower your body fat% to remove fat. Make sure you get…
  • You shouldn't really be using a weight vest. The extra weight puts much more stress on your joints especially in your knees. It's much easier and cheaper to just run faster/ work out faster.
  • Search Google for Stronglifts 5x5 and do it. Trust me it's a wonderful program. No, you won't turn into a bulky female bodybuilder that looks like a man unless you start taking steroids and lifting . Your body doesn't have the right hormones to build the same amount of muscle as a man. You should read these.…
  • are you entering in the calories burned exercising? because with mfp you're supposed to add in how many calories you have burned exercising which means you can eat more. Let's say it tells you 1200 calories. Well if you do 30 minutes of cardio and burn 350 calories, then you can log that in and you will be able to eat an…
