Oh goodie More runners! Today was strengthen and stretch day. I did a level 1 workout from the 30 day shred tonight followed by 30 fit credits of wii fit yoga. Tomorrow is a 2.5 mile run.

I tried it tonight - it's a good workout. I like the way she mixes up the various kinds of exercise and keeps you moving. I used 2 lb wts tonight - I don't have 3 lbs, so it will be a big jump to 5 lb weights. Good luck everyone!
-
I just rented it from Netflix. I'm planning on trying it tonight. I want to see if it would work as stregnth training in my 10k run training plan. Good luck to all of you - I'll be watching to see what you think of it for daily use.

I got in my 3 miles on the treadmill (3.3 actually) and then had a 5 lap "cool down" in the pool "ahhhhh"

Whatever works best for you! :-)

Last night I ended up spending an hour on the Wii fit... I was just going to do a little bit, then I got on the Island Cycling, and thought I'd try the expert level and ended up taking an hour to find all the flags!. This morning I went to the gym and got in 12 laps in 25 minutes before I had to get out of the pool because…

Today is a rest day. How are the rest of you doing? I found a 10k race to run in September, so now I have an actual goal to train for!

I got in my two mile run and semi-randomly chose six weight machines to use. I did three sets of 12 reps at light weight on each machine. I think it was biceps, shoulder press, lateral arm raise, back, inner & outer thighs. I tried to get a little bit of everywhere.

Today's 30 minute cross train was a crunch fitness salsa dance video for 39 minutes. Someone on MFP gave me the idea to use Netflix instant play workout videos on my Wii, so this was the firt time I've tried that. Tomorrow - the next 2 mile run plus stregnth training. I'm not sure what to do about that yet - guess I'll…

Thanks for joining in Dawnna76! Do you have a race picked out already?

I made it to the treadmill at the gym... it's been quite a while since I've run there! It seemed hot even in the air conditioned gym! I took a couple of walk breaks, but did the 2.5. By the end I was starting to feel back to "normal" run mode, so I expect the next run to be better. I probably need to switch to running in…

You go, Jessica!

Hi maddiebabe! I start week one today with a 2.5 mile run. I'm about to go put on my running shoes and head to the gym to run on the treadmill. I'm going to have to add the strength training - I don't have a routine for that. I haven't run in a few weeks now, so we'll see how I do tonight. I'll report in. Week 1 BTW is…

C25k Week 1 ;-) Come run with me and thanks for the support! It will help!
-
maddiebabe - are you trying to run too fast? Something isn't right - I know you can run much longer than that. I haven't actually been out running in a while - I've been doing less taxing indoor exercises or swimming. I need to get back out there. Right now the hardest part is putting on my sneakers :-) I've still been…

I used a blackberry when I did it - just load these podcasts onto your blackberry and put them in the music folder. http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/podcasts/podcasts.html

Do it! Here are the free podcasts I used http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/podcasts/podcasts.html I'm in my late 40's and started at just under 200 lbs - I'd never run more than a few minutes at a time in my entire life. Now I can run a 5k no problem. A year ago I could barely run for 90 minutes. An earlier poster…

I have a related question - Does anyone know of a Wii game that uses the balance board for snowboarding or skateboarding simulations that are fun and work up a sweat? I really like the skateboarding game in Wii Fit Plus and would like to do more of that kind of thing. In terms of what I recommend - I've used Wii fit for…
-
debnu1 - good luck on your journey! I'd love to hear what you think! Made a fresh batch of Sassy water last night - and I'm enjoying my 400 calorie lunch right now - Stonyfield yogurt, almonds, toasted oatmeal, cinamon and blueberries! Yum!

I weigh more often than that, but the only one that "counts" is my Saturday morning weigh-in. I chose to start on Saturday, because most people start on Monday and give up by Wednesday. Not me! I use Wii Fit Plus, so it charts my shift in wt, but like I said, the only one that "counts" is Saturday. I've learned that for…

That's awesome! Good for you!

Since my last post, I finally read chapter 10 on exercise. I did not (obviously) do the recommended level of exercise when I went through the book the first time! I've been back on plan for a week now and have added 1 hour of exercise a day. I've got my MFP calorie counter set back to what MFP says it should be (just over…

Hello all - Jessica did a great job of tracking me down and getting me headed back in the right direction! I really appreciate that by the way... It does help to run with other people on a plan - I think that's why c25k works so well online - you run with a bunch of people even though it's not together and it's so exciting…
-
Wow! Lots of runners out there! I listen to NPR on my Nano's radio. Must be getting old ;-)
-
Looks like it's time to run a new race so I'll have a new picture :-)

Hi, Hooray! Sorry, to take so long to respond! I don't remember drinking during the time that I journaled. I'm one of those folks who drinks socially, but could take it or leave it. It's not "prohibited" as I recall, but you do have to count that in your calorie count for the day just like you would on MFP. Doesn't seem…

Hi all! I've been struggling the past few weeks. I've had my first weight uptick since last October. I have been sporadic about logging my food, and not so good about exercising regularly (I managed to stay off of the wii for 22 consecutive days!) I've also felt less connected on the message boards than I had in a long…

Sounds like you're making good progress! Be gentle now, and you'll be better off in the long run!
-
Jlbay - injured you are faster than I am LOL! I bet your physiotherapist is right - take care of yourself and build stregnth and distance slowly, and you'll be rockin' by next September!
-
Sounds like a good plan - it will go faster this time around. I use the C25 podcasts quite frequently still. I find them to be helpful for interval training (earlier weeks) and for my longer runs too (weeks 8 & 9).
